There were five employees working, yet almost no attention was given to the customers standing in line. Instead, everyone seemed focused on online orders while the in-store line barely moved. If you're going to ask customers to come into your restaurant, they shouldn't feel like second-class customers behind the app. This isn't a staffing issue. It's a management issue. With five people on the floor, there should be someone owning the front line and taking care of the people who made the effort to walk in. Instead, it felt disorganized, inefficient, and frustrating. The food saved this from being a one-star review, but the way this restaurant is being run needs serious attention. Since we were back in the area for a DMV for a brief visit we knew exactly where we were stopping before heading to the airport. Hubs ordered his usual sausage, egg and cheese sandwich , and I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich along with an iced mocha. I had completely forgotten they have a Starbucks on-site with a limited menu. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a cookie and a chocolate croissant for later. The food arrived fresh, hot, and exactly as expected. The staff is always friendly and personable. You see professionals, students and the locals coming in and out, but there is seating available. Conversations are at a minimum and despite the attached restaurant you can still hear yourself and the other person without yelling. One thing I appreciate about Best Buns is the consistency. Whether it's been months or years between visits, the quality never seems to change. The sandwiches are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh, and nothing feels like it was sitting around waiting to be reheated. Everything is prepared to order, and you can taste the difference. My sandwich disappeared one bite at a time, and Hubs completely demolished his croissant sandwich without hesitation. That's usually all the confirmation I need. Some restaurants are good.
