Took the fam for a Sunday lunch to celebrate my mom's birthday since she said she was in the mood for some Korean BBQ. If you're Korean, and you're looking for the traditional affair, this is not it. I'd take a client or friends here who aren't Korean. It's catered more towards non-Koreans IMO. They're selling this as an upscale spot and while the quality of meat is pretty darn good, you have to ask for lettuce and garlic - the two items always present at a traditional k bbq. It kind of sh*ts on the tradition by doing that. Why not provide that to give the full experience we all expect? I love luxury dining as much as anyone else but this was a colossal waste of money. I come to this shopping center multiple times a week since I live in McLean and almost always miss that this exists. They also have barstools outside facing the bar indoors but it's just so awkward. The sidewalk of this area is not built for that! Great idea (usually), but terrible execution. There's so many Korean bbq places nearby. I'm glad I tried this place to kill my curiosity of what they do different. Again, great spot if you want in bbq in a more upscale atmosphere, but it's more or less "fusion," and I'd be good with a business dinner here. Service was impeccable though. Best Korean BBQ I've had in a while, the meat quality here is seriously top-tier. All the meat is wagyu and is perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth, buttery in the best way. Every bite was insanely tender and juicy without feeling too heavy too which I loved. The restaurant itself is kinda interesting. It leans fancy in pricing, but the vibe is actually pretty laid-back. People were dressed all over the place (some more put-together, others super casual). I think that contrast threw me off a bit at first because the price point feels more "special occasion," but the atmosphere is more relaxed and lowkey. We tried the prix fixe dinner set ($80), which is definitely on the expensive side, but worth it if you're going for a treat-yourself type of meal. The side dishes were solid, nothing super standout, but they complemented the meat well. The real star is 100% the meat. Also loved the variety of sauces: wasabi, korean-style chimichurri (SO GOOD), salt, sweet dipping sauce, etc. It made the whole experience more fun because you could mix and match flavors with each bite. The Green Onion Pancake was a standout--it had a perfect panko crust and was served with a fantastic Korean vinegar dressing for dipping. The meat selection that automatically comes with the prixe fixe included Galbi (short rib), tri-tip, hangar steak, and flat iron. The quality was evident, and the expert preparation by our server made them perfectly tender. For the main course we got a balance of warm and cold. The Doenjang Jigae (soybean stew) was rich and comforting. The Mak Gujsu was the perfect palate cleanser--a cold noodle dish in a light, delicious beef bone broth with crisp pear and radish, customized with vinegar and spicy mustard on the side. We upgraded our dessert to the Bingsu, which was delicate, flavorful, and paired beautifully with chewy mochi. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and there's plenty of parking. Inside it has a very clean vibe, white and marbling makes it seem a little classy. The restaurant was practically empty for lunch and the service was great (could be cause there were only 3 people in there or just cause it was good service). Our server was attentive and cooked all our meats perfectly. As for the food choices. The pre-fixed is what was recommended for our first time but i probably wouldn't do it again. The meats were American Kobe and were a mix of good cuts and mediocre cuts. The progression of the meal was intentional, the first cut was tougher and needed more work with the chewing the next cut was tender and great. This was followed by the kalbi meat which honestly was a bit too much work/tough. But the last cut of meat was the most tender and flavorful, ending our meat train on a good note. 3.5/5 Because of the mix of meats, I'd rather have bought al cart to get the best meats/cuts without the "filler meats" of lower quality. What stood out on the sides were the kimchi, really good, perfect crunch and good fermentation flavor! The broccoli wasn't that great, would've been nice to have something else like fish cakes or something. The sauces that come with the meats and dipping sauces were great options to have and had good flavor and paired well with the meats. The sides, Jjamppong was good flavor and the noodles had a good chew and cooked perfectly. The downside, there was only one shrimp the size of my pinky and 3 clams/muscles that were pretty small. Wish there was more seafood tbh 3.5/5 The beef fried rice was good! Good flavor and cooked well, however, the onion was a bit much (and I like onions!) the cut was a bit bigger and too much. The desserts were mid, nothing special, wouldn't pay for the upgrade for the desserts. 4/5 Overall, the place was good but not as good as I would've liked for the price point, I expected a bit higher quality and better meats for the $55/pp. I would however would like to come again and try some of the higher quality meat options without the pre-picked choices. I came to Ingle Korean Steakhouse with my family and some friends on a Saturday evening. I was able to call the day of and grab reservations for 630pm for 4 adults and 2 kids. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The staff kindly already setup seating for my kids. We decided to do the Dinner Prix Fixe Menu. The entire party was expected to participate, excluding the kids. You get a variety of meats and some options to select from: - Sides - Options are Leafy greens (ssam), Corn Cheese, Asparagus or Mushrooms. You get one option per two people in your party. I regret getting the ssam. The Savory Meal options were all so filling that I wished I had picked Asparagus or Mushrooms instead for a veggie side. - Appetizer to Share - Options are Oysters, Steak Tartare, Salmon Sashimi dish (Hwe Moochim), Cod Roe Garlic Toast, Octopus Salad or Scallion Pancake. However many options you get depending on your party size (one dish per two guests) make sure one of them is the Scallion Pancake. This was one the best I have tasted, I would come back to just get the Scallion Pancake by itself. It is cooked to crispy perfection, all of the ingredients are fresh and it is a huge potion easily shared. - Savory Meal - The options here are a mix of noodles or soups or rice. Each person selects one. I ordered the chilled buckwheat noodles with beef broth (Mul Mak Guksu). I regret ordering this, both of the soups were delicious. Luckily, the portions are so big that each person could order something different so everyone is able to try multiple dishes. - Desserts - I was disappointed with the dessert menu and two of the options have an upcharge. I ordered the ice cream, it was not terrible and it was not amazing. It felt pretty lackluster compared to the huge spread of a meal we just had. Overall, this was a great experience. The place was packed at 8 pm (our reservation time) but our server provided excellent and detailed service between all the tables he was in charge of. We ordered the prix fixe menu and the yelpers were spot on - it's a lot of food for the price. Instead, it is an elevated experience where they cook all of the meats for you and the server will explain what the cut is as they cook it. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages. Another moment I had at this restaurant that really just made it clear this spot is beyond great was when I asked for some lemon with my water. They have a WATER ACCOUTREMENT TRAY YALL- cucumbers, lemons, limes. Such a relatively simple luxury that was beyond the expected. Our server talked us through the menu and ultimately we decided on doing the dinner prix fixe for 2. I wasn't sure if this was enough food but it absolutely is and we had leftovers! Not the same type of situation than with an AYCE where I'm prepared to drink water and meat to "get my moneys worth" but all the offerings were BOMB and prepared so well that the meat and all the extras were enjoyable. We got the seafood noodle soup, the spicy cold buckwheat noodles, and scallion pancake. I'll try the fried rice next time but we are noodle people and these were great plates. The Dinner Prix-Fixe is $80/person and includes: A small welcome dish, a starting salad, a side (per two ppl), appetizer (per two ppl), a savory meal (per person), and dessert (per person). There were other small banchan dishes but they didn't really impress me compared to the other parts of the menu (I only ate the broccoli, and the kimchi tasted very sour and not good color). I thought that 4 cuts of meat wouldn't be a lot, but with the addition of the other dishes this dinner was very filling and I had to take my soup home! Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I was able to ask about recommendations and she was very fast and efficient with grilling and getting our order. The meats were good but for me some of the cuts were just a tad bit fatty and rich. I like the tri-tip and skirt steak (offered at dinner, lunch was hanger steak) and the galbi the most. The sides and appetizers were all good too. But the best part of the meal was their bing soo dessert. So good!! One thing about lunch, there is no bartender so no cocktails can be ordered just beer and soju. Speaking of beers, they offer three kinds of Korean beer. Love that. As soon as we walked in, there was a coat rack available in case we didn't want to hold onto our jackets. We were seated right away, and our server promptly came over to assist us. We decided to go with the prix fixe menu ($80 per person, but definitely worth it). Per 2 persons, you are eligible to choose your app, savory meal, and desert. Choosing this option will not give you the ability to choose your welcome dish or meats as these are already pre-determined for you. Food - Warm Pumpkin Porridge (8/10): Surprisingly delicious--smooth, warm, and not too sweet or overly pumpkin-flavored. Corn Cheese (8/10): A unique take, with onions and bell peppers, making it a healthier version of the dish. Cod Roe Garlic Toast (9/10): Very fresh, and the garlic bread had a sweet note to it. Jjamppong (7/10): A savory dish with a generous portion of assorted meats and spaghetti-like noodles. Beef Fried Rice (9/10): Not your ordinary fried rice. It melted in your mouth and was slightly on the sweeter side. Meats (11/10): Wow. Each cut was lean, flavorful, and a whole new level of delicious. Our favorite was the beef tri-tip, but honestly, every piece was incredible. Yuzu Cheesecake (10/10): A citrusy, perfectly balanced cheesecake--not too sweet, and just the right size. My husband and I tried Ingle for the first time during restaurant week, the meats were very high quality and it was definitely an elevated kbbq experience! We ordered the $65 restaurant week prix fixe and chose the steak tartare, beef fried rice, spicy seafood & beef noodle soup for our appetizer and hot entrees. We chose the tartare because it got such good reviews and was recommended by our server, but it is an acquired taste and even though I could acknowledge it was a good, it didn't convert me into a tartare fan.. It was a big portion size, and because it was mixed with egg, it had an interesting smooth texture and was slightly sweet. The wagyu meats were cooked medium-rare by our waiter and it was super hot, juicy, and fresh! All the meat was delicious and tender, but my favorite was the galbi short rib. I ordered the blueberry choux for dessert and my husband the bingsoo, the bingsoo was definitely better with tons of condensed milk! The blueberry choux's crust was a bit stale but I liked that there were mini blueberries in it. The ambiance was elegant and the service was attentive, the only thing was we had a reservation but the people at our table were taking their time chatting, so the host asked if we were okay with sitting in the front of the restaurant.
