It has a porta potty by the huge parking lot and were suggested to use it before going to the lake. Arriving earlier gave us half hour to enjoy the pedestrian walk path by the lake . A beautiful sight to behold. If only we have time, there is a walking trail along. The tour was enjoyable, our guide was amazing. The ride gave us the chance to explore the history behind this man made lake. We solved the relaxation we craved through this boat trip for this weekend. An enjoyable ride.

As soon as you get to the edge of the property, you are navigating a maze of tiny signs in Woodloch handwriting, trying to figure out where to turn to sign in. I made a couple of wrong turns. Once I got there, I had to figure out where the door was. Signing in was actually quite painless, mainly because other family members had signed in moments before, but I didn't get a map so I was lost the rest of the time, depending on others to navigate around (and we definitely had questions). Event timing. I missed out on a couple of events because things we wanted to do were double-booked. Then we had off time when nothing was booked. Why not spread things out throughout the day? Events themselves. We thought bowling would be fun. It was a hollow ball so that anyone any age could roll it. The bad bowlers did better than the good ones. That's what made me miss trivia, though perhaps that would have also been no fun. Okay: A nice house we got, though the living room had a bunch of wasps outside the window so I was definitely not happy there. Clear your nests. Also at least one of our cards went bad, but I wasn't staying more than a day so I didn't have to worry about that. Beers. A couple of locals, just poor selection overall. Good: Pools. Multiple. All ages, all temperatures. Too crowded outslde? Go inside. Three different hot tubs. Kiddie splash area inside, which added to my family's enjoyment when I accidentally discovered it while wandering inside to use the restroom. (Part of that being lost problem. Lack of signs for anything.) Food. Though it went on my family's tab, they will feed you whatever you want for whichever meals you sign up for. My family will enjoy breakfasts and dinners to their hearts' content. Very high quality meals. You are assigned a table and a server, for whatever that's worth to you - definitely one less way to get lost! But if you don't like your server... I'm willing to bet they would work something out. Guest service was not a problem. Overall: I am being a little generous in stars because resorts are not my thing. But this place is in desperate need of an upgrade in signing everything. Post maps in more places. Upgrade your experiences and spread them over the course of the day. For now: You have been warned. Good luck.

We checked in midday so we had the benefit of having daylight- making first impressions less creepy. We were the only ones in the bed-and-breakfast, as far as we could tell . Not a sole insight. There was no degree of security. No codes to enter, etc., after reading a taped message on the front door, we entered and eventually found our room. I truly love old / historic homes and Inns. I usually offer them quite a bit of Grace..... Despite outdated furnishings, our room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning worked well and there was a small room refrigerator. Surprisingly, no musty smells. The bathroom is in need of some serious repair. The sink is chipped and rusty and the shower tub- well, it's is far from a shower. We showered late that night and despite the timing, there was little water flow -more like a trickle by the time my husband showered. We had no idea when breakfast would be served - since we never saw anyone. We just wandered down the next morning. The breakfast dining room, where we were to eat, had a trashy movie playing on the TV. I got up and changed it . The breakfast was subpar with low level of supplies - tea, etc. We are willing to pay more for a room knowing breakfast is included. We should've dined out instead. I have one more true life commentary - there was a table in the hallway upstairs that appeared to be an amenity table - boxed hairdryer and box of Trojans. I thought it was a prank for someone staying at the Inn at first, however, later realized - don't think so. Time to Class it up several notches, Wayne on Main!!! Honesdale is a fabulous historic town. The Inn has tremendous potential - if only some sweat equity and thoughtfulness was put into it. Our overall experience was similar to that of the Twilight Zone. Perhaps you should look elsewhere.

When we arrived at night, there was no one present to check us in. A sign directed us to walk several minutes down a cold, dark street to another hotel for check-in. We had our 11-year-old daughter with us, who was asleep. At the other hotel, no clerk was there. After waiting about 15-20 minutes and calling the number provided, a bartender from the adjacent bar eventually came to the desk. She appeared visibly intoxicated, said she was only the bartender, and was unable to help us check in. We returned to the original property. The instructions said our name and key would be at the room, but there was no name on any door and no key waiting. After knocking on doors, we eventually had an uncomfortable interaction with someone associated with the property and were finally given a key. The room itself had serious maintenance concerns, including loose/exposed electrical raceway in the shower area, cracked paint, brown water in the toilet, a cramped bathroom setup, and an overall condition that felt poorly maintained. I rarely leave negative reviews and understand small inns are difficult to operate. But this property should not accept reservations if it cannot provide a safe, organized check-in process. Our experience felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and unsafe. I would not recommend this property, especially for families arriving at night.

Yes, it's a splurge--but worth every penny for the details alone. We loved strolling the nature trails, spotting deer, and relaxing in the woods cabin stocked with water, tea, bug wipes, and even a s'mores kit (plus a real bathroom few steps away!) Kayaking was peaceful, and our massages melted the stress away--though I do wish they had included fingers! The Whisper Lounge was a dream: dim lights, cozy silence, and snacks that let you fully unwind. Coffee/tea/water everywhere. Meals were fresh, organic, and delicious--especially the salads straight from their farm. The three included meals per day made dining a highlight (just don't recommend the pork bao - dry side) We took chakra yoga, tai chi, self defense and even a sketch/painting class--everything was thoughtfully led and enriching. Loved all of our instructors! Only feedback: separate the activity desk from the spa desk, as the spa reps seemed stressed. Also be sure to check the bill to ensure you are not charged an extra meal. A map is provided to guide you to local attractions and shops. You'll share the property with beautiful squirrels and chipmunks, the occasional Deer that walk around and serenaded every day by chirping birds. A fire pit provided for each cabin is a wonderful way to relax and sit back to think about absolutely nothing Lamar and Terri live onsite and are available to assist you if needed. AVOID THIS DISASTROUS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!…read more During our stay, we have not seen the owner, housekeeper, or anyone who works at the Inn at all, in any way, shape, or form whatsoever - including at checkin and checkout. In fact, they instituted a "contactless" check-in and check-out where a code is texted to your phone to access the room. We are unsure why anyone would choose to work in the hospitality industry if they are so keen on avoiding any contact with their guests. It made the experience feel cold, impersonal, and frankly eerie, as if we checked into a haunted house. Usually, the best part of staying in a bed and breakfast is the breakfast. Unfortunately, that was the worst part here. The hotel said that due to "light construction," they won't be serving any hot breakfast but would offer what they claimed would be a "continental breakfast." In reality, this consisted of Folgers Keurig K-cups, store-bought bagels in a plastic bag, defrosted boxes of Jimmy Dean sandwiches (which should be stored in a freezer but was stored in a fridge instead), and a few travel size cereal boxes. It is important to note that they didn't have any milk available for the cereal, nor did they have any regular sugar (only Splenda). These offerings are nowhere near adequate to be considered a continental breakfast. We wound up eating out at a local diner instead. Also, there were no signs of there being any construction, so the lack of hot or continental breakfast felt like more of an excuse. There was also a pervasive cigarette stench in the room. Our room was listed as "smoke-free" and also had "thank you for not smoking" signs in the room. However, there was a cigarette stench so pervasive throughout the entire room that we resorted to opening the windows in 20 degree weather to attempt to get the stench out - to no avail. It made my clothes smell like cigarettes even when I got back home. Speaking of not having any contact with the inn staff, we also ran into several issues that needed housekeeping to address. There was a phone number listed to call for but no one ever bothered to pick up, so you are left to fend for yourself: First, the shower in our room was not working. The guests next door were kind enough to come in and figure out the problem. Additionally, we needed more towels and bar soap for the sink, which they never bothered to replenish because housekeeping is nowhere to be found. They also never provided any tissues in the room. Finally, the mattress was as hard as a rock which wound up hurting my back. Because of the mattress and because I could hear everything from next-door and upstairs guests, I got essentially no sleep during my stay. It is truly tragic and a shame just how far downhill the Brookview Manor has gone. It is abundantly clear that the inn was in its heyday when Marty and Gaile owned it. There is an old notepad with notes from prior guests, thanking Marty and Gaile for their hospitality and excellent cooking over the years. Our experience could not have been further away from that with the new owner.

Sunday morning..fruit cup, 6 mini store bought muffins, lukewarm scrambled eggs, country sautéed potatoes with skin, 3 half sized bacon strips, juice,, coffee....not impressive. Could not contact B&B directly. Needs more staff. No one to check in or out. One door left open 24 hrs. Grounds ok. Building needs overhaul.
