Listen folks - if you aren't eating all your Chinese/Vietnamese meals here, you are missing the boat. This place makes THEE best food in town. Everything is made from scratch, homemade, deliciousness. The pork fired rice has large pieces of pork, like you've never seen before in your PFR. General's chicken is made with large pieces of chicken, with the skins on, deep fried , then marinated in a delicious sauce. It's low on the heat level, so you can enjoy the flavors without panting to cool your palette. Orange peel chicken is smaller pieces of chicken, dipped in batter then deep fried before being sautéed in a bit more spicy sauce with real orange peel to boost that flavor in the dish. The noodles (we have tried a few different portions) all have very generous meet/seafood portions. You know how there's like 2 tiny shrimp in most restaurant's shrimp dishes? Not here! I had more shrimp in one order of chow fun noodles at Silver Chopsticks than I've had in the past 4 places I've had it combined. Crab Rangoon comes with their own homemade sauce! Now let's talk about their pot stickers. Oh. My. Gawd. If you get nothing else when you visit this restaurant, you absolutely have to get an order of the potstickers. Your life will forever be changed. You will never get potstickers anywhere else, I promise you. These folks make their own dough and stuff the potstickers so full of meat, the order of six potstickers is a meal in and of itself. They are truly the best potstickers in town, hands-down. You will not regret this order. In fact, we get two orders every time we go because we know there's going to be a fight over every last one. I can only speak to take-out service, which has always been prompt & courteous, but patrons enjoying their meals while we are there picking up never seem sad! Ambience is what you would expect from a strip mall restaurant. They keep the place clean (bathrooms included), which is always appreciated. I was in the mood for chicken lettuce wraps and they have my favorite one in town here. Stuffed full of the best chicken mixture on crisp iceberg lettuce-make sure to add some hot mustard! We were around the area so we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the combination pho, egg rolls, and spicy shrimp. The pho came with a lot of meat and the perfect amount of noodles. The broth didn't have too much flavor, but adding the hoisin sauce helped. The egg rolls were nice and crispy, and had good flavor. You have to eat it with the sauce it comes with, and you won't be disappointed. The service was outstanding. The staff was really nice and very attentive! I knew this place was legit when I saw they had preservative free Tobasco sriracha.. which is awesome. Ever since the other sriracha brand got bought out, it has the California label for cancer causing chemicals in it. Love the gmo free sriracha option. I haven't had it in so long because restaurants only offer the go to option. A coworker recommended this spot while working in town.. lunch specials looked tempting but I opted for the pho with tripe and tendon. I couldn't believe how many noodles were in the bowl! I asked my little amount of noodles and the server said no problem.. so if this is a true half order then you will def leave full with regular size! The broth seems lighter than I'm used to... almost gave a chicken vibe? But it didn't lack that classic pho taste and smell with the onions. Mmm.. Next time I'll order an extra side of tendon with the pho. The perfect bite sizes of tendon tasted like butter! ..seriously so smooth. I ate all five pieces like popcorn, hoping there was more. . We ordered the "Silver Chopstick Dinner" and chose the Wor Wonton Soup which was decent with plenty to have two bowls, it comes with the typical assortment of appetizers, House Special Fried Rice which was full of chicken, shrimp and pork, the entrees we chose were House Special Egg Foo Yung, and Crispy Orange Peel Beef. All of these were delicious. The Egg Foo Yung was clearly made to order. I liked the paper wrapped chicken appetizer, but don't understand why the foil always sticks too the meat, obviously if the foil was on the outside the paper would stick, they need to figure out a way to keep that from happening it causes me to leave half the meat behind. My only observation was that there was only enough food to consume at the restaurant when we're used to having enough leftovers from one of these Family Dinners to have another meal the next day at home. Ok this place is amazing! I have never had a bad dish from here. Their potstickers have a thicker homemade dough around them and they are so good!!!! We tried the curry chicken last time and it was delicious. The pork vermicelli is amazing. I go Between that and their Pho! I order the rare steak, steak on the side so it doesn't over cook in the soup, and light noodles. So so delicious. Other then their food being amazing the staff is phenomenal!!! I can't believe how long it took me to make it here despite living right around the corner! This place has been on my list for a long time. They have many tables on the inside and we didn't have to wait at all on a Wednesday night at 7pm, it was mostly empty. One of the workers was sitting at a table rolling their Vietnamese spring rolls while we were there, it really showed the authenticity of the food and how much work they put in to making these items by hand. The menu is huge and there's something for everyone. I wasn't feeling Chinese, but will never turn down Pho! I ordered the Pho Tai (#2) which is rare steak noodle soup. It was served with a plate of add ins including bean sprouts, jalapeños, lime, and fresh basil. The serving size was great and the Pho was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly. My husband and friend both got the Mandarin Dinner which is a 2 person minimum because you each get some appetizers plus get an entree for each person. They got SO much food! Such an awesome deal for $20/person. I had read raving reviews about their homemade pot stickers so of course we had to order some. They were some of the best and most unique pot stickers I've ever had! They had a thicker breading on the outside that was soft and almost dough-like. However it still had some crispiness as well. Last night we ordered 3 sesame beef for almost $20 per order but what we got is just very little of the beef not even enough for our kids dinner .they reduces the amount of the food that you order now. We had lunch yesterday at Silver Chopsticks. The food was terrible. I ordered Generals Chicken. My husband ordered Lemon Chicken. My Chicken was not cooked all the way through. I've eaten at Silver chopsticks a few times now and I've enjoyed every meal. The food always comes to the table hot and they are fast. We usually pick one of the family dinners, I like having the appetizer variety and my husband likes the wor wonton soup. Orange peel beef was flavorful had heat but wasn't over powering. If you really like it spicy, it may disappoint. Honey Walnut shrimp was the other entree, it's a favorite, it had lots of sauce tonight. We came here about 12:15pm on a Friday. My wife really loves Pho and we saw this place a few weeks ago and decided to check it out. When we arrived it was not too busy. There were maybe five other tables seated, the place has 20 to 25 tables. We were told to have a seat wherever we like and were brought menus. They have about six or seven Pho options along with appetizers in addition to regular asian menu options. My wife ordered the number 3 Pho featuring rare steak and well-done flank noodle soup and I ordered the lunch special L 17 with pepper steak. We also ordered an order of the pot stickers as an appetizer. The pot stickers were brought out shortly after as well as the egg drop soup which came with the pepper steak lunch. Everything looked and tasted very yummy. Our entrees were delivered a short time later, and also looked and tasted very good. Food is always great, no complaints there. But there is a waitress who has black medium length hair with bangs who is rude as hell. she tried to argue with me over a mistake SHE made. Honestly i was trying to be nice to her but she didnt accept that she was wrong. I dont know how i feel about her she is very rude and didnt try to work out the issue rather stood there being rude. Decent pho at decent prices. This is not a rating/review of any of the Chinese or other Vietnamese dishes at Silver Chopsticks--just the Pho. The Pho was good but basic and kind of boring. The broth had no flavor to it. The beef was good but there wasn't that much of it. I got the beef combo pho, by the way. The noodles didn't have much flavor to them but were cooked to the right consistency. It's just Pho, but not a bad or a great one. In NW Reno, for the most part, this is the best we have for Chinese/ Asian food. 100% of the menu is not the best of the best, meaning of you only like one dish - this might not be for you. If you don't mind trying several dishes and are patient over several visits, you will find delicious choices. I have found on cold days their pho noodle soups to be perfect. My family loves their Mongolian beef, pepper beef steak, salt&pepper calamari or wings, walnut shrimp, crab puffs, basil chicken and much more. The most important thing here is the people working here are the best. Ordered food from this place last night through Door Dash and oh my gosh it was SO GOOD. It was made and delivered so quick, it was awesome. The packaging was also very nice so nothing spilled in the bag. Although, they didn't provide silverware and napkins so thank goodness it was just delivered to our house. The vermicelli was very tasty and the sauce that they give you wasn't too fishy as other Vietnamese places have. Their potstickers though....oh.my.gosh. Best Chinese food in Reno hands down. They are currently open for pick up only and it is well worth the trip there. They are super friendly when placing the order over the phone and the food is always ready on time. Tonight we got Mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp, mushroom chicken, Szechuan beef, veggie lo mein, egg rolls, crab Rangoon and bbq fried rice. All of it was outstanding, perfectly cooked and very large portions. I just love this place and I'm so happy that they seemed to be able to weather the Covid 19 setbacks. I've been coming here for awhile now. Sure, prices have gone up like everywhere else. My gripe is, I ordered the Cantonese Dinner for 1 at $18.95 and my entree chosen was House Special Chow Mein. The chow mein was so, so oily. I decided I would try and soak it up with a napkin. I did speak to one of the guys working there and he didn't offer to remake it but did tell me that next time if I order it to tell them "less oily". WHAT??? I was shocked. He said because they have so many orders that the chef is cooking so many orders when they're busy that can happen. Never ever heard of that. I shouldn't have to say, "umm, less oily please". The place was clean, and the people are friendly. My wife got the pho, and she didn't really care for it. I got the vermicelli shrimp, pork and eggroll dish, which I thought was very good and would order again. The service was a bit lacking, in that once we got our food we were no longer a priority. Nobody came by to ask how everything was, or if there was anything else that we needed. I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for a check, which never came. Other tables got their checks. I went to the counter and asked for my check, which I received and paid. Amazing Authentic Chinese Food! Last week my family and I were looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. We normally don't go out for Chinese food as we normally make it at home. But we wanted a break from meal prepping and based on yelp reviews decided to give Silver Chopsticks a try. What Makes Silver Chopsticks Unique: I. Great Menu Selection. (They have a diverse menu and you will be able to find something that pleases everyone in your party. There are american influenced appetizers and dishes but they will also make food not listed directly on the menu if you ask. The staff speaks both cantonese and mandarin if you want something more traditional don't hesitate to ask; we did.) II. The Pho is delicious! (The soup base is well flavored and not overly salty. Our bowl was served with generous portions of noodles and meat.) III. Outstanding Service. (The waitstaff was extremely friendly, personable, and attentive.) We ended up sharing the meal "family style" and were able to try many items including 2 different bowls of pho, chicken pan-fried noodles, and peking pork chops 京都排骨 (not listed on the menu but the chef made to order). If you decide to give Silver Chopsticks a try you can't go wrong with the pho or pan-fried noodles! I passed this place many times, just didn't seem appealing. But it's near my sister snd she wanted Chinese without going far. Was pleasantly surprised by how open the dining room is. Great menu with truly inexpensive luncheon specials. Most were $7.25 for main, rice, egg roll and soup or salad. My sisters both enjoyed their lemon chicken and lo mein.
