Best spot for Vietnamese fare in my opinion! Service is always great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is old but cozy and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

At your own risk... not recommended, they claimed to have the best pho in Reno. NOT....the worst is the correct. They do t know pho or customer service.. save your money and go somewhere else..

Extremely disappointed with the quality of food here.... I ordered the Bún Bò Huế and the spring rolls. The spring rolls were average--not extremely fresh but nothing special - and the peanut sauce lacked that strong "peanut" flavor . The Bún Bò Huế was the biggest disappointment. The broth had no depth or richness - it tasted like watered mixed with chili oil. There was none of the bold, savory, and slightly spicy flavors that make this stand out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was not a busy dinner either so the fact that this was what was served was ridiculous[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Lunch for one $31.37 Could have had a much nicer lunch for over $30. I won't be back here.

I love thai food. Never found any I disliked. So this is a Reno first. See photos Very skimpy on protein. If you like unseasoned white noodles this place ilis for you.

#7 Steak, flank, tendon, tripe pho soup

12.14.23: Met Ma for lunch at her favorite pho spot as I was craving some hot soup in the cold weather. I ordered pho with steak, flank, tendon, and tripe, 1 spring roll, and a BBQ pork bahn mi sandwich. I had traditional hot jasmine tea as my beverage of choice. The broth of the pho is what makes the soup as well as the fresh fixings and toppings that accompany it. The bean sprouts are a fav and give the soup that good crunch. Normally an order of spring rolls comes with 2 rolls. I like how Viet Pho gives the option of ordering just 1 roll. The rice paper was fresh and not dry or hard nor was the shrimp fishy, so that's a plus. The peanut sauce was plentiful and yummy and like how they top it with chopped peanuts for added crunch. My only complaint is the sauce was cold. I could have asked to have it warmed up but I didn't, so that's my fault. The BBQ pork bahn mi sandwich was sooo good! My favorite of course is the homemade fresh bread. Richard, the owner, spent time and lived in Italy when he was younger and learned to make bread. His bread is amazing and yummy. The pork was tender and the carrot and pickled onion give it it's nice crunch. The fresh jalapeno slices give it that heat to complete the sandwich. There's so much on the menu that anyone can find something they'll like and if you're adventurous, try something new. You never know you might find a new favorite dish!

I chose to eat here for the convenience of being close to the airport. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a flight to catch, so I'm grateful for the quick service and quiet ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Vietnamese pork sandwich bahn mi. It was good but a definitely different flavor than I am used to. I have had these sandwiches for years in many locations and they were pretty consistent with the taste and texture of the bread but this was not what I have eaten before. It taste good but not what I have tasted before. So expect it not to have a typical texture of bread and taste. The fried pork egg rolls were amazing just so full of flavor. The best part was the authentic Vietnamese drip coffee. When I tell you it was dripping right in front of me it's because it was. I love the taste so good. It is a strong coffee not for the weak. Thank you for the good experience. The waitress was short with her interactions but attentive. I hope that makes sense.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very old.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lack of light.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff's attitude is very bad. I went with 10 people but they made the wrong dish for 7 people. Bought 2 drinks but charged for 3. Never come back.

It is Saturday evening, and I decided to walk from Peppermill Casino to Viet Pho. The location is easy to find. It's on E. Moana Ln. The server is very friendly. Her name is Melissa. I ordered the beef pho, and I was really surprised by the flavors (no artificial flavoring ---all natural bone broth), the tenderness of the meat and the correct temperature. There is a place in Cupertino, which is considered as an upscale Pho place (expensive and limited choices there) and it cannot even come close to the flavors of Viet Pho. And the prices very competitive here. Also, the place is very clean and has a good ambiance. Come see it for yourself.

    Pho leftovers.

Do they serve Imperial rolls? The difference of Imperial rolls & egg rolls is the wrapper. Imperial rolls are wrapped in rice flour wrappers. Egg rolls are wrapped in wheat flour wrappers. Both are deep fried. I'm looking for Imperial rolls!!

the difference is the Chinese style fried roll with the wheat paper wrap, Eggroll is the Vietnamese cha gio wrapped with a rice paper, however, wrapping with the rice paper is harder, restaurants now generally use the wheat paper to wrap, so the…

Service was horrid, We were greeted, sat, orders taken, food arrived. Zero check ins after food showed up. Which is surprising because after a single bite of the chowmein, the rest sat there untouched. She looked at me and the plate multiple times and never came over to see if everything was okay. Chowmein was swimming in grease, and since when has combo chowmein had bell peppers, mushrooms, and cauliflower? Tell me you bought frozen vegetable medley, without telling me. The pho was mid at best, my husband asked for his pho with no vegetables, and when it arrived, had onions and cilantro all up on top of that thing. Crab rangoons were trash in and out. How this place has 4 stars on yelp and 4.5 on google really has me wondering if they are paying their friends and family for the positive reviews with one review stating "pho comparable to what you would get in Vietnam" $64 dollars worth of food left on the table, and the lady at the front has the nerve to say "Please consider tipping" MA'AM, for what? All the food is on the table uneaten. Here's your tip, DO BETTER. Will keep to our usual spot at Pho777 downtown. Our mistake for wanting to try something new. Lesson learned.

That's quite alright, it's not but whatever. Food sat practically untouched on the table Still paid, was told "please consider tipping" by the cashier. For what? 3-4 bites total taken between my wife and I on this grease ridden food? No thank you. Maybe perhaps instead of having your server mean mug my wife, son and I sitting at our table perhaps using actual customer service, coming up to the table after seeing the bowl of untouched pho and a plate full of untouched chow mein sitting on the table parallel to us, perhaps coming up asking us "is everything okay??" Nope. Treated like shadows like we didn't exist. Will more than likely be disputing the charge due to the whole "please consider tipping" comment. Please consider Doing Better

We ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun, and Gai Lan with Beef. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. With "Hong Kong Diner" in the name, I was expecting authentic Cantonese stir-fries with good wok hei. Unfortunately, the Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun lacked that signature smoky flavor, and the texture was closer to lo fun than traditional chow fun. The Gai Lan with Beef also lacked wok hei. The outer layer of the gai lan stems had been peeled away, so the stems lost the crisp texture that makes gai lan so enjoyable. The Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken was overly tender and quite salty. It seemed to be marinated so heavily that I couldn't really taste the natural flavor of the chicken. Overall, the restaurant offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. I just wish the Cantonese dishes had delivered the wok hei I was expecting from a place with "Hong Kong Diner" in its name. :)

So, check out the menu before a visit to make sure they have what you are looking for. Pros: Yummy appetizers, spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, pho (beef was especially good), and speciality drinks. Con: They really toasted the bread on the Bahn mi, on all times someone at our table has ordered it, it is a struggle to eat, especially for smaller mouths/ those in braces.
