Busy Sunday afternoon. About 1:00pm. Party if 2. She doesn't ask if we want a tiny booth, she arbitrarily marches us to a small booth in the side room and left us with two menus and silverware. The table is 25% occupied by condiments. Leaving the rest for a soda, water, coffee then salad, Reuben, coleslaw and Cali club. People were finishing and getting up in the main dining room so if she had asked we would have declined the tint booth and had room to enjoy our meals! My Calli club was good, coleslaw good. His Reuben was good. House salad was good. Service was 3/5. She seemed in a rush!! Didn't really stop-we just kind of mention needs as she ran by us. We will give it another try. The hostess set the bar for this experience by not including our input in the seating choice. Maybe she is told to keep the entryway moving, not sure. Food was good! read more

We were passing through Imlay City and did not want to go to a restaurant that was too crowded. This restaurant did not look too busy so we read the reviews and thought we would go for it. We actually had a good experience from the waitress, social distancing to the food taste and prices. I got the chicken Greek salad and there is a $1 difference between the small and large sizes, so I got the large and took some home with me. The chicken was cooked great, the salad was loaded with veggies, peppers and cheese, and the dressing was delicious. It came with a creamy Greek dressing that was delicious. There was also grilled pita on the side. All the employees wore masks and I felt very safe where they seated us. read more

I know people who refuse to give diners more than 4 stars. What, because they aren't challenging for a James Beard award, they can't be great? Food snobs. As much as I enjoy upscale dining, what I *really* enjoy is finding a place that serves up great food for great prices. Silver Grill definitely does that. I'm very glad we were able to dine in, which is a recent change after a 3-month statewide lockdown. My steak and cheese sub was substantial, with sauteed mushrooms (which I love), and it only set me back $7.99. The steak was good, too. The bun got a bit soggy, but a stack of napkins corrected that. For another $1.50, I was able to get two sides, which included a drink and over a dozen great options, some with a $1 up-charge. I got perfectly crispy hash browns instead of fries because...well, because I wanted them. It's nice having that kind of flexibility on the menu without being told that this is a breakfast-only option. My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got a fried chicken sandwich instead. But, it looked delicious so we didn't send it back. It was tasty, so no harm done. The steak fries were served in a cool mini fryer basket, and were so good that I barely got a chance to sneak 1 fry before she shut me down: she wanted them! The coleslaw was overdressed, but it tasted good. Besides the very wallet-friendly price - about $25 total for two diners! - the food showed up incredibly quickly. And, the food was hot...literally hot off the grill. Whenever we needed something, our waitress was able to bring it quickly....I'm sure it would have been service with a smile if she weren't wearing a mask. The menu is colossal, with a lot of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I don't know how the rest of the menu is, but I'm really happy with what we had. The food was terrible. This is the second time we have had breakfast and everyone's food was bad. I don't think the third time will be the charm for this place, we won't be back. This place was packed. I can see why as the food was great and the prices are decent. I ordered my burger without bun (keto style) and a side salad. Ate lunch here for the first time in 30 years. This used to be a truck stop restaurant, but a drug store sits where the large parking lot once was, back when M-21 and M-53 rumbled through here. Stopped in just before 1pm and actually thought the place was closed when I didn't see any cars in the parking lot out front. Saw a couple headed towards the front door and after seeing them enter, decided they were open for business. In the next 20 minutes or so, the parking lot filled up, as did the seating inside. Ordered a Cajun burger and was pleased with the sandwich. A side of cole slaw ran $1.50. All in all, a nice meal for a decent price. read more

We tried it, now I don't have that feeling anymore. Says something about what the people in this area will accept as food. The breakfast food here is decent. The lunch isn't too bad. The wait staff is friendly on the surface. Some of the food combinations are very strange. Eggs and Gyro meat, reuben omelettes... Turkey Omelettes? However, if you do come here, pay your bill at the counter. DO NOT give your money to the waitress to have her run it for you. The waitresses prey on old men. The last two times I've come here with my grandfather (an 80 year old man), he's insisted on picking up the bill. It's usually around $25 for 3 people. He hands the waitress a $20 and a $10 for the bill, tells her to keep the change, then about 5 minutes later, the cashier comes back to the table with 2 $10 bills, insisting that he underpaid... Demanding that he trade them a $20 for one of the $10's they've brought over. What a sad life these waitresses must lead if they have the nerve to repeatedly bilk old men out of small amounts of money. We probably wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't run the scam on him twice in a row. Everybody makes mistakes, but the second time around, we were paying attention. Just... Pay your bill at the counter and be acutely aware of how much money you give them. Count your change, and don't let them get away with it. read more

Yesterday we were seated by the hostess and were given water and menus. The waitress walked by a couple times without stopping. A gentleman came in and sat after us and was serviced. We waited almost twenty minutes and no service. The waitress waited on everyone around us. We got up and left. We will never stop there again and neither should anyone else. Brrrr! The place was freezing! Attractive, clean establishment with friendly staff. I ordered the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise was very tasty and the eggs were prepared perfectly. However the Canadian bacon was super hard to cut with just a butter knife! It was also difficult to chew! The so-called hash browns the so-called hash browns were basically shredded potatoes deep-fried like french fries to Beyond Christmas! Not very appealing. I like my hash browns done on the grill with a light brown crispness and soft to the palate. I'm not sure if I will stop here again. read more
