Was in Dallas as a visitor from Oklahoma and looking for some "can't miss" Indian food given the abundance of options here. After reading the stellar reviews for Silver Spoon, figured that this would be the place and came in for dinner. It's located in a strip mall, small pace but furnished well and has a homely feel. Had a party of 5 and was seated pretty quick after a busboy cleaned off the table of a group that had just left. As multiple reviews have mentioned, the place is family owned and the service was excellent. When dining in, you place your order up front but don't pay until the very end in case there's more things you decide to order as the meal progresses. Thoughts on the dishes: -Samosas: went with the beef samosas, and apparently they take the beef part very seriously. The whole samosa was chock full of beef(was expecting veggies too). Which was ok, because the beef was well flavored. -Behari plate: decided to be adventurous and try a Pakistani dish I'd never tried before. Was terrrible - very salty and not much flavor. Left untouched by the whole table after 1-2 bites. -Fish biriyani: was decently flavored, not the best I've had. -Garlic naan: delicious, flavored well, everything I could ask for in garlic naan. -Chicken tikka masala: the dish I came for. Had mixed feelings about it - when I dipped the garlic naan in the curry it tasted pretty good. However, when mixed with the white rice there was a overwhelming flavor of tomato paste. Started subtly at first, and progressed to unpleasant with the more bites that were had. Overall, I really wanted to give this place 4 stars based on the fantastic service. However, given the hit and miss food compared to the stellar reviews and expectations coming in 3 stars is the highest I could muster. read more

I really like this place. On my way home from a friend's house I stopped in to get a bite to eat. I was greeted by one of the owners when I entered. He showed me the menu that offered descriptions of each of the menu items. He also had a list of top sellers and speciality items like vegan dishes which was nice to see at an Indian restaurant as there aren't many in the area that have vegan dishes. I'm not vegan, but I do eat vegan dishes 4 out of 7 days per week so it's nice to know that I can go here to pick up a delicious vegan dish. Since that day wasn't one of my vegan days I decided on the Tandoori chicken combo. OMG, the tandoori chicken was one of the best I've ever tasted. The chicken was very tender and very flavorful! The chicken biryani was very colorful and was loaded with chicken! The naan was warm, fluffy and fresh! I truly enjoyed the combo. On a couple of subsequent visits I or one of the members of my family have had: palak veggie, chicken tikka masala, trout with biryani, chana masala, tandoori chicken wrap, kabobs, and the veggie korma. We enjoyed all of the dishes, however my son wasn't a fan of the chicken tikka masala, but other than that the food was good. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer. The sauces were just not of the quality I expected from this place. I looked at reviews before ordering.The chicken tasted like it was frozen and then boiled not grilled like it should be. So it was very tough. The cheese was hard , rubbery and tasteless. The saag was very oily, I was hoping for green and creamy. I'm very disappointed with both these dishes. The naan and garlic naan and rice were all excellent. They are very nice and it was hot and ready when I was there to pick my food up. But I will not be returning. read more

This is a great place for a lunch break or a nice lunch when you're in the mood for Indian food! The owner is super nice and very helpful in explaining the menu. While it's not my favorite Indian restaurant in the area, it is very tasty and the portions are generous! For once, I wasn't frustrated by the lack of naan at an Indian place. Our chicken tikka masala came with four good sized triangles, and we upgraded to the garlic naan (which was so yummy)! There is also a solid serving of basmati rice (and I recommend ordering the tikka masala with both). The only reason they lost a star was the drinks in the cooler were a little dirty, but we were able to use the napkins to clean them off. It is kind of funny that a restaurant called "silver spoon" uses plastic utensils, but it didn't affect the deliciousness of the food at all. We're definitely coming back to try the veggie combo, because we saw a bunch of people come in and order it to go! Just be prepared for a bit of a wait because all of their food is made fresh so it can take ~10-15 mins to get it, but then you'll love it. read more

I had to jump off 75 due to major traffic and Yelp guided me to nirvana. We ordered the family feast with the help of the amazing guy who has his pic on the wall so clearly runs the show. He said it might be too much food but I made a bet that the Yelp reviews made me want to order enough for left overs. I was right! I've gone to about 12 different Indian places in North Dallas and this is THE place to go. Every plate was better than the rest and better than the competition. The paneer was the best ever (so light and fluffy and crispy). The masala had more flavor. The naan was perfect. The seehk kababs (?) we're spiced so well I wish I had ordered more. The samosas had a very light wrapper, more like a lumpia than an egg roll and we're the best I've ever had (beef). And the biryani was stupid epic. I live a drive away but I will absolutely find excuses to run here. Oh, and the service was awesome. Such nice people! read more

I had a hankering for a gyro and Silver Spoon popped up on my phone. Now I am a going to admit that I like a Greek gyro with tzatziki. That is not what I got with Silver Spoons. A very different gyro, with Indian flair. So if you like your gyros "traditional" this is not it. However if you step outside the box, this gyro is a very tasty wrap and the fries are great. The meat was great, the vegetables fresh and the sauce was spicy. This is a gyro with an Indian spice flare. But let's talk about what I did not know. This is a quaint little restaurant that I had no idea existed and now that I do I need to, and will, explore other items on the menu. It has an Indian based menu that looks wonderful and this reviewer will be back to explore that menu. The food is made to order including Mango Lassi. Simply simply delicious. The Lahori fish with Garlic naan, vegetarian combo, and the grilled boneless trout are so delicious. First time experience was fabulous. Very cozy and homely environment by a family owned business. We got the Nihari, small grill platter and laohir fish (which I added at the end after I overheard them say it's their special on the phone to another customer) The fish? Oh Em Gee! Yummm! So good. I could keep going but let's stop. The grill platter was great, nihari not to spicy yet flavorful. There was some salad with the BBQ & fish. Now what I really liked was the fish and mixed grill came with the naan. Fish had an optional rice side if not naan, but it was included. Most restaurants don't do that. The naan also was freshly made and buttered. Lastly we had some tea, also I was very impressed that the tea came in a little teapot. We ordered two cups and I would say you could have 3. It was cardamom flavored and gosh I have yet to have such a hot bubbling tea at any restaurant! I'm def going back. read more

We ordered take out from here tonight for a group of 12. I had a great experience when I called to order, which is always appreciated! We ordered 2 large mixed grills, one with chicken seekh kebab and one with beef seekh kebabs. I preferred the chicken but the beef was tasty too. The chicken. Tandoori that came with it was also delicious. We also got chicken Tikka masala which was good. The palak paneer was also really good. The only thing we got that I was not fond of was the veggie samosas. It was all just peas and carrots. I would have preferred to have it with some potato as well,but that is just a personal taste thing. However, the pastry around the samosa was quite good! Lastly, we got goat biryani. It's not my favorite dish but my nephew who loves it, said it was pretty good. I appreciated that the man I spoke to called me to ask how I would like my dishes plated for easier service once we brought the food home. I was craving Pakistani food so my husband and I ordered food here during COVID-19 era. We ordered chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, and garlic naan in our phone order. In about 15 minutes, I picked up the food and was pleasantly surprised and pleased with their no contact setup: my food was bagged up and ready to be picked up on the table, I paid with a card, and I got a receipt via text message. The restaurant itself seems a bit small but very nice and decorative. The staff here were super friendly. The food was pretty good. Both entrees were a little different than what I was expecting as it was less creamy, but it was still good. In addition to our entrees, we were given a sample of the palak kahari, which was something my husband was debating on getting during his phone order. We were surprised to see we got a sample and glad we got to try it because it is something we would like to order for next time. Overall, this was a solid place for Pakistani food. The food is great and I can tell the staff are very professional (especially in their way of handling to-go orders during COVID) and they were overall very friendly and nice people. Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of veggies in the samosa (usually it's mostly potato which is great but this was a nice change). The fish was perfectly seasoned and the curry rice was so good. There was a dish with the vegetable platter that I don't know what it was but it was delicious! Had ginger, chunks of paneer (looked like tomato chutney). Perfect amount of heat and flavor. I also really appreciated the thoughtfulness placed on packing the food. We had a 30 minute drive back home and was hoping nothing spilled but was surprised by how well things were wrapped in clear wrap. No spills! This restaurant probably has the best service I've ever had. My cousin and I came at 7:30 during Ramadan but they had changed their closing time from 9pm to 7pm but we didn't know. After trying unsuccessfully to pull on the door knobs and walking away when we realized it was closed, the owner came out and insisted that we could still come in because the kitchen was still open. When we sat down, he personally told us what the best sellers were and what he recommended. During our entire dinner he kept making sure we were happy! When we went to pay, I let him know I wanted to do a yelp review to get a percentage off and he said they usually do 10% off or $5 off, whoever was higher! Again, super sweet! The food was decent. I got the chicken tikka masala and it was a bit too tomato-y for my taste but it was still ok! The nan was very soft! My cousin got the fish and he said it was good! We also got the beef samosas but I want to try the vegetable next time because I didn't realize the beef one didn't have potatoes in it The restaurant wasn't that big but it was very homey.
