Can't go too wrong with my usual eggs & toast, but the service is very seldom any good (unless it's a new waitress). It's like a mate, if they don't look that great (the place is dingy), their personalities better make up for it. This is NOT the case here. The staff seem so incredibly jaded, except toward a handful of regulars. Btw...I would skip the pancakes (tasteless, and a bit tough). I do recommend the homemade wheat toast. read more

We've started coming more often again. They changed the menu back so you can get half orders- which is a big selling point. The pancakes still aren't what they were- don't get fruit pancakes- besides blueberry it's just a very heavy can tasting compote that's wayyyy too sweet. The home fries still aren't 100% (I think they still deep fry) but they are much better than right after the sale. I'm sad a lot of the ladies from the previous group have left- the rhythm of the place isn't as solid- things take longer, staff seems constantly stressed and there are less smiles for people who don't know management personally. The removal of the counter makes it hard to go on your own (the window is full most of the time). All together, it will never be that place we once loved, but it's and acceptable and economic choice. read more

The French toast here is dope AF! It's deceptively simple and doesn't look like it's going to be ALL THAT but it's just soft enough, not too eggy and overall really tasty! The coffee isn't great and please Don't order the cappuccino! (it's from one of those gas station machines with more sugar than coffee). Went to Breakfast with my Father after a morning of Trout Fishing. I had not been in the Silver Spoon in several years. I grew up in Easthampton, but served in the Navy for 26yrs and retired in Delaware. We both ordered the 3 egg breakfast, I choose the hashbrown and Dad picked the homefries, with sausage. I opted for the Wheat and he the seedless Rye, both my Dad tells me where baked fresh on site! The wheat was lacking "body", just too light, almost like biting into cotton candy texture. I tasted Dad's Rye and it was outstanding. Hashbrown was thin and lost in flavor, Dad's homefries were dark and slightly over cooked (I like them that way.). We didn't comment about them, but the Waitress must have thought they were not up to standards so she brought us a small heaping plate of crispy fresh homefries to share "on the house"! AWESOME... Inside was clean and according to my Dad, recently renovated by new ownership. read more

Looking at the number of reviews im surprised there arent more people visiting this lovely place for breakfast! We ordered the veggie benedict, roasted veggie sandwich and plain waffles. The benedict was perfect and the waffle was crisp and soft at the same time! The sandwich was okay. What made the experience even better was that our waitress was super friendly and made us feel very comfortable! Definitely recommend this place for a good sumptuous breakfast! read more

I eat here about once a week, and the food is high quality diner food. They have several home made options ( bread, corned beef hash). Parking is free and easy in Easthampton. It gets crowded Sunday morning fro 9 to 12. read more

I stopped at the Silver Spoon for breakfast this morning because I heard it was a great place. Wow! It was wonderful! The waitstaff was very quick and pleasant. I ordered blueberry pancakes which were delicious and when I asked about whether they had link or patty sausage the waitress said they had links or HOME MADE patties! Also, my friend was offered regular bread with his omelet or HOME MADE! I'll take home made anything every time. The sausage was very delicious but a bit hot. I like it hot so I was happy. The coffee kept coming and they have little OJ's which I like rather than a gigantic glass. The place itself is quite small and not fancy in any way but often times that is where you find the best food and it was today! I will definitely go back again. read more

A dim little joint with molded plastic booths and rickety-looking little tables, and a basic breakfast menu... but the food is surprisingly good. As an added bonus, they have gluten-free bread. When my dining companion mentioned she was gluten-free, the waitress said her omelette could be made "out back" -- I guess they have a dedicated gluten-free space. There are two steps to get up to the front door, so it's not handicapped accessible, but people with limited ability to do stairs should be ok. I got the Lumber Jill breakfast, which was 1 egg (I got scrambled, it seemed like more than 1 egg), hash browns, 3 bacon or sausage, and a pancake, for less than six bucks. Yum! The hash browns were particularly good. I'm not a big breakfast sausage fan, but the turkey sausage was pretty good. I think my scrambled egg may have been done before my pancake, as it wasn't really warm -- but overall, I have no complaints, and would go again. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place and the food was honestly delicious. I thought the server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I wish there were more tables and I think getting to the table itself could use some more cohesion-- we went inside then went back outside then back inside then to a table with very little direction from any staff. It's a greasy spoon, for better or worse. I always got the crows nest (homemade corn beef hash) because the rest of the options is just regular diner fare. It's a bit old and tacky but down home and cozy. I'd give it four stars but I've seen things like servers handling food after handling money, and once I saw a waitress pick her teeth before grabbing some silverware. I used to go more regularly when I lived closer, but I won't go out of my way to visit again. I'd probably give it two stars but that corn beef hash is pretty awesome. read more

This little "dive" is no longer that. What used to be the "greasy spoon" and remedy for the night out before, seems to have has grown up. My husband and I walk here once a week for a great breakfast. Beyond the creative but comfy specials, the food is delicious, generous, and the scene is super friendly. It is also remarkably clean. We have yet to have lunch there due to schedules. Typically I do not go to breakfast joints because the food is usually sub par. However, this breakfast joint offers some really great food. Drove up for the day from Boston and needed to grab some food after hiking. Saw this place had 4.4 stars (which doesn't mean much coming from Boston) decided to check it out. The hash browns were seasoned very well. The eggs were also cooked well. I had the all meat omelet and here was a very good balance of meat, egg, and cheese. The seating sucks when the place gets busy but that's the nature of the beast when you have a small place in an old building. It's worth getting up early just to beat the crowd. Great prices. Came here on a recommendation from a colleague for "diner food". The portions were enormous, and the service was great! We were a little nervous because we arrived 20 minutes to closing. If you are looking for a homie restaurant this is your place. They have homemade breads and down home foods. I would say this is mainly a locals hangout but if you get a chance I would recommend this place. Its a little small so sitting could take a little bit but it will be worth the wait read more

They are willing to do GF preparation on a grill in the back. They make GF french toast, hash browns and I am sure some other stuff. My son has Celiac disease and he seemed to come through fine. Spring for the maple syrup and get the in house hash. read more

Just looking for a cup of Joe this morning enroute to Web's yarn store with my wife. Saw the sign, opened the door, saw the little place was jam packed, kids,parents grandparents, teens and knew instantly we were someplace very special. We indeed were. We sat at the counter directly across from the flat top grill to watch young Amy work her magic ..eggs gently flipped ,omelettes 6 at a time her sisters whizzing by all the while smiling, courteous to each other. A group of the cutest young professionals I have seen working as one in many moons. The Homemade Hash is EPIC!. Eggs Benny perfect, just like the interior architecture, tin ceilings et al. The owner Jeff could not have been more welcoming if he was flanked by Angels..hey wait...he Is! He is a rare breed of man as he shared with us his feeling that he is really the current steward of this historic location.
