I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. During the entire visit, I noticed he was holding his phone in a way that seemed off. It became clear he was video recording me the whole time without asking for my consent or even mentioning it. I was completely caught off guard. Having someone walk through your home and secretly record you is not only creepy, it's a serious safety and privacy concern. As a homeowner, you invite contractors in to assess the job, not to be filmed without your knowledge or permission. When I realized what was happening, I felt incredibly uncomfortable and violated. There was no explanation, no "do you mind if I take a video for reference," nothing. Just a camera pointed at me in my own space. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. If this is how they operate when providing a simple quote, I can't imagine what a full project would be like. I strongly advise anyone considering Amerbuild to think twice.
