I originally left a 1-star review after experiencing several issues with my solar installation, including incorrect wiring, broken roof tiles that led to a roof leak, and interior ceiling damage from water intrusion. At the time, I was also paying both my solar payment and an SCE electric bill, so my electricity costs had actually increased. After seeing my review, Silverline Solar reached out and took ownership of the issues. They corrected the wiring, repaired the damaged roof tiles, and fixed the interior ceiling damage caused by the leak. They also credited me for the electricity I paid to SCE during the past 10 months while the system issues were being resolved. Now that I'm about 10 months in, it looks like my electricity bill may end up around $0, which is what I originally expected when going solar. While the installation wasn't done right the first time, I genuinely appreciate that Silverline Solar stood by their work, owned the mistakes, and made things right. Steven and his crew did a fantastic job installing my new solar battery. It was a complicated project; the new battery had to be integrated in with my existing array of solar panels. New interfacing hardware had to be installed and wired together on both sides of the house. So the plans had to be followed very carefully. These guys were cheerfully professional, meticulous, and willing to answer all my questions about how it all connected together. They were extremely conscientious. They carefully explained to me how to use the manufacturer's app to monitor the performance of the entire system. And before they left, they even painted all the new piping and flex hardware they installed to match the color of my stucco! The whole system looks beautiful and works great. We initially chose this local solar company over one of the larger national options because of their glowing reviews and our desire to support a local business. Even though their quote was more expensive than what the national company quoted us, we appreciated their effort to do everything they could to match the national company's price. The sales experience was excellent--friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful. It gave us a lot of confidence that we were making the right decision. Unfortunately, once we signed the contract and our project was handed off to the main office, the customer service quality dropped significantly. Communication became inconsistent, timelines slipped without explanation, and it felt like we were no longer a priority. We really wanted this to be a success story of going local and investing in our community, but sadly, the upside hasn't materialized. Update: changing stars of this review. We've worked closely with the owner of Silverline this week and he's been so helpful. Contracted to install an EV Tesla Wall charger. They completed the work to satisfaction but not without headaches. Gave only 4 stars because they took 4 months to complete the project, pass city certification and the company did a poor job at communicating this entire time. They eventually apologized for lack of communication and explained why it took so long to complete the job (issues with city inspectors), but just wish they would have communicated this during the project. Overall would give them another chance. Besides the project delay and poor communication have no complaints about the work done. read more

Update: They communicated to Project Solar that the installation was complete, but this wasn't true. The panel is still not derated, nor is the 175 amp breaker installed. They also scheduled an inspection and pulled a plumbing permit, so the inspector wouldn't inspect the solar system (which would have failed anyway because the panel isn't ready). Lot's of miscommunication even within the company itself. Update: They have completed the installation, but failed to properly repair my stucco, nor tell me why they redid some of the work previously completed. Communication continues to be poor. Update: They are in contact now with Project Solar and are trying to find the breaker. Silverline Solar is the solar subcontractor assigned to my project through Project Solar. The installation day went okay - they had some post-installation repairs to make but were overall accommodating. The main reason I'm ranking them only 2 stars is they left the job unfinished and haven't been communicative after the last day they were here. I understand why the job wasn't complete -- there is a breaker they couldn't find locally, so it needs to be special ordered. I was assured by the project site lead that they would be in contact about when they would be back to finish up. It's been almost a week and neither I nor my Project Solar rep can get ahold of anyone to give us an update. We used Silverline Solar for removal and reinstallation of our solar panels for our re-roofing project. The entire Silverline team was professional and courteous from begging to end, and accommodated our scheduling requirements. After the panels were reinstalled, we encountered an issue with the solar panel system not generating any power. The Silverline team sent installers to troubleshoot the problem, and identified the issue was the inverter. They handled working obtaining a replacement under warranty with the inverter manufacturer, and swapping out the unit. We are now back in business and generating solar electricity. It seems like my issue with Silverline is normal based on the more recent reviews here. Silverline is one of the local installers for Project Solar. My installation started in the first week of November 2022 and was "completed" in early December 2022 with PTO in December as well. We're coming up on August 2023 and my system is STILL not fully functional. After Silverline botched the install, my panels and batteries were just an expensive wall/roof ornament. My batteries have NEVER worked. Project Solar would tell me that Silverline would show up and after FOUR no-call, no-shows, I lost patience and asked Project Solar to send someone else out. After several months, Project Solar finally dispatched another installer to come out (because despite several promises, Silverline NEVER came back) and see what the problem was. They found wiring issues done by Silverline and this other company was finally able to get some of the panels working. I contacted Enphase in January and by the end of January, I was connected with Enphase's Escalations team. I was wondering why Enphase wasn't doing much for several months. Turns out, Silverline told Enphase NOT to come out and fix my system. Silverline will not come out to fix my system and they told Enphase not to come out either????? Silverline was last scheduled to come out on July 6, 2023. Guess what? No call, no show, no reschedule. At this point, I laugh whenever Silverline is "scheduled" to come out to my house. This issue with Silverline has gone on long enough and I've been too patient with Project Solar and Silverline. We'll see if a complaint filed with the CSLB will get Silverline's attention. Beware of signing up with Project Solar if they suggest using Silverline Solar / Silverline Home Remodeling. Make sure to request another company and do research to identify whether they are having issues as well! read more

I'd pay extra to give them ZERO stars. It has been 6 months since they removed and reinstalled my system for a new roof installation, and it is still not functioning. They "completed" the reinstall shortly after the new roof was finished, and walked away. I noticed that I had no energy production, and reached out to have it looked into. They have sent a "team" out no less than half a dozen times, months apart, and are still unable to rectify the situation. There has been delay after delay getting them to come back out to address the problem. They show up, do some work, and leave, never letting me know what to expect next. Additionally, Steven, the owner of this company is unable to keep his word, he is argumentative and unhelpful. He promises to return calls, to follow up, to keep me posted, etc. and every time I have to chase him down for answers. I am having to resort to legal action to put an end to this nonsense. 6 months of wasted time, effort, money, and lost power production. read more

Good company and great customer service. I got my solar system installed in October and final inspection in early November. And just now I'm flying my friend's drone over the roof to check the installation. And find out there couple roof tiles are broken during the installation. So I call Silverline for broken tiles. They replaced the tiles really fast and free of charge. read more

We purchased a 24 panel, 9.6 kW solar system from Silverline Solar. SCE Permission to Operate was granted yesterday and we turned on our system for the first time. Everything is working perfectly! The City Building Department inspection was signed off on 11/2/23 and we were surprised to receive the Permission to Operate so quickly on 11/14/23. Silverline's installation team completed the installation in only a day and a half. They did a great job and were very knowledgeable and professional! Daniel with Silverline's Permit department was very helpful and did an excellent job throughout the entire process including coordinating the Interconnection Request application and Permission to Operate with SCE. I just finished getting solar and a battery installed at my house. I really liked their customer service and installation. It was clean and they placed everything exactly where I wanted it. The overall cost was also very very good. I shopped a few companies and silverline had the best price and product. I got 22 panels and an enphase battery. So far, no issues. They answer emails very quickly. My project manager was also very informative. It took me a long time to decide but I'm glad I went with them. I would highly recommend this company. read more

We contracted with Project Solar and apparently they subcontracted to Silverline Solar. This has been THE worst experience dealing with a contractor in my life. I have dealt with many crappy contractors in my lifetime, but this one takes the cake! We are working on 9 months to get solar installed. Homes are built in less time! Then they applied for expedited PTO (WITHOUT REPEAT INSPECTION) BUT they did not fix any of the deficiencies and the project still isn't complete. Company subcontracts for Project Solar based out of Utah. My Solar system was granted PTO last 11/16/2 however, 7 of the 16 panels do not show up in my app as either the serial numbers are missing or the panels themselves are not working. I have no way of knowing and monitoring if my system is working properly or at full capacity. I have brought this to the attention of Project Solar several times. Project Solar is claiming that they have reached out to Silverline several times. It's almost 1 month now and the issue is still unresolved. We went through Project Solar who uses Silverline as the installer. At first, after reading all the reviews I was excited that they had picked an installer with experience and great reviews. I was told by Project Solar that the install was going to take one day. Well on the day of the install 5/31/22, NO ONE showed up and I had to chase them down to be told that they had employee called off sick, and need to push it to Friday 6/3. OK so not a problem. 6/3 came and 2 installers spent 2 days and did a poor job and could not finish. At that time was told they don't know when they could come back to finish. After complaining to Project Solar, Silverline sent a "better crew" on Friday 6/10. They are still not finished as of today (6/14), and still have not heard as to when this project could conclude. .. still waiting... On top of that, the crew left trash on the roof, did not cut the excess tracks, broke roof tiles (though this is common), installed an ugly tall junction box on the roof because the equipment was not sent. Anyway, I am not impressed and would love just to end this nightmare install ASAP read more

I decided to hold off until after a list of "issues" had been submitted for the original installation and see how they handled the situation. They sent out a new technician today, Jose Cuevas, that fixed/improved the original work. In addition, he went above and beyond to ensure it was a quality installation. Silverline's site survey failed to determine that trenching was needed. The day before work was to start, at 4:30 in the afternoon, I received a call from Silverline indicating that an additional $10,000 was needed for trenching. When the crew showed up the next day, I asked the crew chief about this, and showed him that the proposed trench would have to go through the root system of a large tree, as well as requiring digging into an existing paver patio. The crew chief suggested re-routing the trench to avoid these issues, and using conduit to go over the house to the panel. He also expressed misgivings about successful installation of the panel. I told them to go home. Silverline kept my deposit, plus $4100 of my first payment. They said the NEM 2 agreement could not be transferred. I was able to transfer it to another contractor, so they lied to me. I appreciate that Silverline seemed to work hard on the paperwork in order to meet the NEM 2 deadline, but the trenching was a deal-breaker (they did verbally offer to negotiate the cost of the retrenching, but not in writing). Other contractors indicated that Silverline greatly overestimated the output of the proposed system, which included a battery. Another contractor indicated that the battery would never pay for itself because of shading on the panels. So Silverline's payback estimate was grossly overstated. I complained to the CSLB, but Steve Biton, the CEO, refused to refund the deposit and $4100 of the first payment, citing the amount of work put in. That is a risk of doing business, not the customer's risk. Silverline blew it, not me. read more

Silverline is a small shop (only 3 guys in the Bay Area) but used Enphase equipment which is a solid manufacturer. The experience with Silverline Solar has been nothing short of horrendous. * Solar agreement was signed on the 13th of January 2021. * On the 20th of January utility bill was provided. * 1st of April they mentioned the got the permit and that it would be installed in a week. It didn't happen. Communication is non-existent. Don't expect promises to be kept. Project Management is in disarray, Steven Biton the CEO, is the only point of contact which is worrying and expect rude and dismissive responses. * Installation was pushed back to May 5th. By this stage new finance documentation and permitting was necessary as we required a new utility bill. We were told on 5th May installation was completed even though it wasn't. The only thing that was communicated was that it was "minor issues". And with no notice, panels were "upgraded" and configuration was changed which was against the agreement. This is not what was agreed on, more so, Steven was adamant that these additional surprise charges were passed on. * By 30th June it was still not turned on. * By 23rd August a utility bill was requested again with very little communication as to why. I can only guess it was due to the lack of project management and support which was a scary insight into the future of the support expected for any issues. The salesperson hasn't been paid their commissions. We have reason to believe that they may be trading while insolvent. Overall, a terrible experience. I have a project with Project Solar that is subcontracting with Silverline to install solar panels. The installation of the solar panels was a bit choppy. The first appointment they completely missed without any communication until I called them. The second appointment they were on the later side of things but did finally show up. They were able to get everything installed but they did not follow the engineering specs or the manufacturer's install instructions for the mounting of the racking even though they said they did. There should be 4' spacing between mounting hooks but there are a few 8' spans in my install. This can cause problems later with sagging. Also the tiles are lifted under the hooks which is a leak hazard according to the install instructions. There are many broken tiles. This all happened a month and a half ago and so far there has been no appointment set to fix any of these issues. I have been asking every week for a resolution appointment but so far nada. I would think they would want to get this fixed and close it out but I guess not. I know solar installers that are licensed, are trained well so I am not understanding why they skimped out on the mounting and lied about it when I asked them why there we so many extra hooks left over after install (10). It was pretty obvious they did not mount things right. I took pictures that show the lifted tiles too. I guess they thought I would not notice? My system is up and working and the electrical was done well. I just wish this could have been a one day project and not stretched out over many months. The communication is very poor. Most of the time I am asking over and over the status of the project and just being told to wait longer. read more

Silverline installed my solar panels through a company called Project Solar. they did a awesome job on the installation there crew doing the installation were great. The installation took place July 6th of this year. It has been two months and still know final inspection. I have been to the department of building and safety three times to make sure all permits and fees have been paid and the answer has always been we are just waiting for them to call and set up an appointment for final inspection. Project solar tells me they are waiting for Silverline to make the call and Silverline will not have contact with me. read more

Although Steven and Nicole are very nice, despite repeated requests over 3 months regarding issues with my 4-month-old solar system, I have not received a service call. Silverline's voicemail boxes are full and cannot take messages, they will occasionally answer the phone and promise to set up an appointment but never do so. i cannot recommend them at all. read more
