Eggs Benedict sans bacon with potatoes

Had the pleasure of visiting this place this weekend on a gorgeous fall September with temperatures hovering at 63. It was a bit unseasonably cold, but more the reason to try out a nice breakfast joint. Been living in this area for 23 years now so was surprised I had not been to this place which was like a 10 minute drive from my house. The place looks very artistic and has a cool vintage vibe to it. It is in the famous silvermine arts district and there is a gallery right across from it. It was nit busy when we walk Ed ina round 11 A.M. we ordered the eggs Benedict that's comes with a side if fries and my daughter ordered the buffalo sandwich. The food was really good, with the sauce on the eggs nicely done and a bit tangy. The eggs were done to a perfe tin and it was a very filling breakfast. I did manage to get a bite out if my daughters sandwich too, which was nice as well, but I feel mine was better :) They have settings both indoors and outdoors, but for a nice cool fall weather, sitting outside was the perfect experience. Great place to try if you are in that area.

I've been here twice in four days and I think I've found my new favorite spot! As soon as you pull up you know you're at one of those classic, salt of the earth restaurants. It's a hidden gem and it's perfect that way. It has all the characteristics I (and I would think most people) want in a restaurant. Great location, not crowded, pleasant and accommodating owners, great decor and of course the most important thing- DELICIOUS FOOD. My first visit here was for breakfast. Being the procrastinator that I am I lounged around all morning and waited until I was starving until going out at noon for breakfast. I got the the market around 12:15, browsed the menu and then went up to the register to order the French toast and the Silvermine Omelet-- only problem with that was that they stop serving breakfast at 12... If it was my restaurant I would've told you that breakfast ends at noon and that would've been the end of it. The owners kindly let me know that It was passed breakfast but they made an exception for me anyway which they didn't have to do at all. I felt bad about being "that person" but not bad enough to give up that French toast! FRENCH TOAST: No exaggeration- this was Top 3 best French toast I've ever had (and it's not #3). Thick (Challah bread), Sweet, perfectly cooked with generous serving of butter. 10/10 SILVERMINE OMELET (fresh basil, tomato and goat cheese): To be honest I'm not a huge fan of goat cheese so I don't know what prompted me to get this but the omelet was the perfect contrast to the French toast. Fresh, savory, and the goat cheese made it taste just so. 8/10 On my second visit, armed with more knowledge than I had the first time, my girlfriend and I ordered off of the lunch menu. SOUP (Ida's butternut squash & Chicken Noodle): This is not an episode of Seinfeld so I'm not going rave about soup, but they were both very good. PHILLY CHEESE STEAK: This came at the recommendation of the owner who said they make their own roast beef on site. I'm not sure how to describe the difference because the only other time I've had a Philly cheesesteak was in Philly but the fact that they were on par, I think, is a compliment to the market. BAD BOY PANINI (cutlet, bacon, cheddar, tomato, ranch): CRUNCHY AND DELICIOUS and that's all you need to know! I will be back again and again and again.

Very cute local spot! I was looking for a spot just like this in the Norwalk area. Not very crowded and it about 10 minutes max for the food to come out. We had no problems with our order and would return in a heart beat!

We had a "make your own pizza" birthday party for my son here and it was fantastic. I come here often and the food is always great and the staff is very friendly!

Tasty sandwiches and other items at relatively 'fair' prices. The owner is gregarious; the place clean, attractive and quiet.

I had a Bad Boy Sandwich with one of the moistest, juiciest piece of white meat chicken. A very tasty sandwich with good chips!

Hello, Food, and…read moreservice was excellent. I was just a little annoyed by the sound of the music. A band was playing to entertain guests but their speaker was just too loud so guests sitting at the tables far away from the band couldn't have a conversation. I am a sixty year old man who was there to celebrate and we couldn't talk to each other at our table. Then when I had to use the restroom there were people blocking the access to the restroom because they were enjoing the band, I repeatedly said "excuse me" and asked them to move, but because of the volume of the music they couldn't hear anything and took quite a while to move. This repeated as I returned, on my way out of the restroom back to my table. The women saw me, but the man blocking my path, didn't see me, or hear me say anything. I said "excuse me" several times, but the music overpowered me. Per haps there might be a better location to position bands, and lower their sound levels to allow everyone to enjoy their dinner, their conversations, and maybe customers would be able to comfortably make an easy trip to the restroom. Again, the food was all fantastic, and the service people were all super. I just felt the sound levels from the band was just a little too high for the design of that restaurant where it would would reverberate to the walls making it harder for everyone to enjoy their conversations and meals . I hope something will be done because I'd love to come back again. That steak and duck potatoes was excellent and I really want to try your Loaded Pot Pie. Thank you, Dan

I have eaten here twice now with my friend from Norwalk who is not a foodie and likes the familiar,…read moreso on her suggestion we went. The first time was for take out, a chicken parm sub, meatball sub, and a small cheese pizza. The chicken parm was burnt in spots and was very dry. There was not enough sauce on either sub. Pizza was o.k. but nothing to write home about. Second vist we dined in. Dirty tables and lots of flies buzzing around. Again, the chicken parm sub for my friend and the complaint was it was very dry, not enough sauce, and the cheese was not even melted. I got the pasta fagiloi soup served in a giant wooden bowl which was strange. The soup was sub par from a can. Pizza slice ok, but the overall quality of the dishes were low, while the prices were comparable to other places with much higher quality ingredients and much better taste. Only Pepsi and no Coke products, although they do have Foxon Park. Parking in strip mall area shared with other businesses. I will not be returning.

I would have given this restaurant four stars but the music was too loud and a complete disconnect…read morefrom the dining experience. Playing thumping dance and pop music, and keeping it on just as loud, when we asked them to play something more appropriate. I'm an artist and producer, and I love everything from Ariana Grande, to Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, etc, and it's great that they want it to be young and energetic, but 85% of the tables had patrons over 40, with the exception of one table with two teens and later, a young couple. A complete mismatch and annoying experience where we were right under the speaker trying to have a conversation with friends we haven't seen in a while. When we asked the manager to turn it down, he turned it down from 10 to 9.5, and never changed the style of music. Turning up the music at Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister is proven to keep the energy and young vibe, but me and my friends don't want that when we are eating pasta and Arancini! As an Elite member of Yelp, I eat out 3x a week in restaurants all over the state, and in NY, and this kind of shows me the management doesn't know how to take the temperature in the room. And with that, the restaurant was also freezing cold. Now, for the food! We started with Eggplant Parmigiana and Arancini appetizers. Eggplant was good, overall, but texturally, a miss. Some of it was not cooked through, which with eggplant, can be a turnoff. The edges and the middle were the same texturally, and had no caramelization or char or crispiness and was simply one note the entire way through. The saving grace was the sauce which was light, sweet, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The Arancini were very small and had a pronounced saffron flavor, but it was a bit overpowering, and as Arancini goes, I'd say these are a distant smaller cousin. Normally, there is rice and peas and ground meat, and mozzarella, so I wouldn't call these "Arancini," but maybe "Arancetti" All in all, not what we expected, but still a nice bite, with a flavorful lemon aioli to add a brightness to the savory dish. The Branzino dish was a star. Delicious, fresh and well presented on a bed of Faro with carrots, asparagus and saffron. Super. My baby mussels was delicious, but the pasta portion was very disappointing and small for the price. I left the restaurant hungry. The Caccio & Peppe was also a hit, with a deep cheesy umami flavor, but again, too small a portion. The ribbon pasta with butternut squash was perfect, savory, and it felt heartier and more generous than the clam dish, which at the least should have been served with crispy charred Italian bread to soak up the butter sauce. For dessert, we all nibbled on chocolate flourless lava cake, which was absolutely delicious. Overall, Bianco Rosso was saved by a couple dishes, and the overall food quality and presentation which was good. We found the service to lack character. Not a lot of personality from the waitstaff. Not particularly friendly and simply--all business. Nice ambiance, but the music and the cold temperature had us eating with our jackets on. An area of opportunity here is to rethink the vibe and music. Like really sit down and have a conversation about how to express and connect the entirety of the dining experience with a through-line from the lighting, temperature, and music. People are there to share food and a good time together. Like a good movie, you should always hear the words and only feel the music, not hear it during the actors dialogue. This needs to be the same. And finally, understand your crowd. Look at the people sitting there, it's not your show to play the kind of music you like, but to play something that sits in the back seat, quiet and simply fills the air with a suggestion, or hint. Maybe it's instrumental, or Jazz, or Frank Sinatra, Blossom Dearie, or music with very little singing and thumping. It all adds up, and it's just time to finely tune it all.
