They make a wonderful bacon,egg and cheese with nice crisp bacon. I like mine on a bagel and those are good, chewy and very fresh.

I'm always hungry during my commute for work. A few times while southbound on the Merritt, my Waze app told me to get off at 40A, a short drive to transfer to the i95, I passed by this spot right before the Dunkin' Donuts, and never noticed. This is such a better option. The place looked trendy inside. There was self serve coffee and many different types of bagels, I even seen a jalapeño one. The worker was super cool. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a roll with pepper jack cheese and a side of hash browns. It was ready quick. I also grabbed a drink and a carrot cake dessert. My sandwich tasted fresh, my hashbrowns were nice and hot. My carrot cake was soft and moist, I wasn't a fan of the sugar frosting, thought it be more cream cheese like. I wouldn't get that again. Next time Waze makes me cross over, I'd definitely stop here again. read more

I've been a loyal customer here for a while and never had any issues -- until today. My husband and I came in for breakfast and spent $35, which included a pastry. When I opened it and took a bite, it was clearly stale. I politely brought it to the attention of a young staff member, who insisted it was fresh and actually told me I was the only customer who had ever complained about it. That response alone was disappointing, but what made it worse was asking to speak with the owner -- who refused to come speak with me directly. As a returning customer, that level of dismissiveness was genuinely disrespectful. I understand off days happen, but how you handle a concern says everything about your business. I hope management takes customer feedback more seriously in the future. read more

Stopped for a quick solo sit down lunch .. there are 7 tables that seat 2 people each.. I snagged one by the door and my food was brought to me. I got a chicken cutlet with American cheese, LTM on a wrap and it was fantastic. It came served with potato chips. They had lots of fridge drinks and self-serve coffee to choose from as well as chips and desserts. They also had some home made cream cheese, Mac salad & rice pudding in their fridge which seemed home made. The single-person bathroom was clean. read more

Great first experience coming here! I was looking for an alternative to my regular spot LizSue Bagels. But their hours recently changed in Norwalk and they weren't open. So I came here hoping to get a delicious bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. I most certainly did and was not disappointed. Decent sized restaurant inside, it was empty because they were closing in an hour. The staff was super friendly and helpful since it was my first time. I checked they didn't have many bagels left because they were closing soon, which wasn't their fault. I actually got an everything egg bagel. Which I had never had before. I got it with bacon egg and cheese on it. I also, picked up a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese and a few drinks. Everything was perfect cooked, bacon was extra good and delicious. Great customer service , fresh food , cozy environment , one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. Although they never put mayo on my sandwich everytime I order , everything else makes up for it . I hope if your in Norwalk passing through or on the way to work , there options will satisfy your hunger everytime ! Purchased four different kinds of sandwiches here for my family. What a great place! Quick and friendly service, and the sandwiches were all amazing. The chicken cutlets are fresher than usual. The hot pastrami bread was crisp and buttery. Pulled pork abundant and delicious. Grilled chicken warm, soft and very flavorful. And chips with every sandwich! read more

Still my favorite place for a quick To-Go breakfast or lunch. The people are friendly, the parking is easy and the prices are very reasonable. For Breakfast, I often get an egg sandwich on a hard roll but the bagels are wonderful too. I usually have to bring a half dozen back to the house for everyone. Guilty Pleasure: I can't resist the crumb coffee cake at the check-out counter. For Lunch, I've had different sandwiches that have all been good but my favorite is their Chicken Parmesan. It's delicious and I usually have enough left over for dinner. (or a mid afternoon snack- ha) I always get my food To-go. The deli is very small and there is always a crowd hovering over the tables waiting on their orders. It really wouldn't be pleasant to eat here. read more

I really love their egg sandwiches. I haven't tried a bagel yet (lol) bc I'm partial to rolls but all variations of my egg sandwich have been delicious. I've tried some of their cookies too which are also excellent. There is a usually line so I recommend ordering ahead if you are in a rush. read more

Pauli's Deli looks like a classic deli on the inside- big menu boards, bagels on display, and seating inside. I ordered a BEC on a roll with hash browns on it. It was really tasty! The iced coffee was good too. Would recommend :) read more

Pre-COVID, this review would be closer to a 4. Their food is great, and their service is even better. The staff is aways happy to take orders over the phone and they don't skimp out on their breakfast sandwiches ::looking at you deli on East Ave:: It's a 1 because of management. The place isn't that big and they've kept the same amount of tables. THEY DO NOT REQUIRE MASKS IN THIS TIGHT SPACE. I won't get political here, but the non-mask wearers tend to think this is some government conspiracy (wonder where they got that crazy idea from...). I went in recently and there were non-mask wearers in line and at a table. Obviously the people eating can't eat with masks, but the others should've been required to wear them. They were leaning into people to have discussions and disrespectful of the people who were wearing masks trying to keep their distance (not just me). Happy to update this review if/when management makes some adjustments. Sad to see a deli I like so much, that's been around for so long, have such a disregard for its public and community. read more

With the abundance of deli options in the area (Calise's, Gaetano's, Fortuna's, Fire House, etc) it can be rather easy to stick with your everyday "go-to's", but Pauli's is definitely worth checking out. If you are familiar with the Norwalk location then you know exactly what you are getting here. Pauli's offers an array of deli classics as well as signature breakfast and lunch sandwiches. My personal favorite is the grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella, pesto, tomato, and basil. The sandwiches are rather large, so the high prices are somewhat justified compared to other delis'd in town. The only other criticism, which is not their fault, is the parking lot can be tricky and down right annoying at times during peak hours. Pauli's Deli & Bagels is opened from 6AM to 4PM Mon-Friday, with earlier closing hours on weekends. Delivery is available through Grubhub. read more

That honestly was one of the worst bagels I have had in a long time. First of all there were almost no bagels left. The bagel I got was hard (stale) and the butter had this weird aftertaste. Either the butter was bad or they used a knife from the butter on something else. I will not be returning. The only redeeming quality was the staff was very pleasant. read more

I didn't think I was going to like this spot as much as I did. We pulled off, ravenous, only an hour into our road trip. The first deli we went to was closed for business, so this was the next spot on the main road that I was confident was open. It was about 3pm and the place was deserted, not even a bagel in site. No bueno for a bagel store. I however spotted their 'diet dishes' and went for it. Grilled chicken with broccoli and avocado. It took a few more minutes than expected, and I have to say I was getting ready for more disappointment. The place wasn't looking so clean, which wasn't making me feel that confident.... did Yelp lead me astray? The answer: no. The food was good. It was seriously close to a lb of grilled chicken wonderfully seasoned with broccoli and some slightly over-ripe avocado. It ended up being more than enough for me, so very easily shareable. As a stop off place from the highway, it's definitely a solid. Grab a salad, sandwich, bagel or light meal and be on your way. read more

I'm not quite sure what to make of this place. On the one hand, they've got like -- it seems -- an endless supply of various self-serve coffee that is just terrific. Some of the best selection around. And a deep menu of choices for all who want it. So far, very good. And yet, when you come to a bagel place, you want YOUR type of bagel. And i'm sure to some, this fluffier -- almost kaiser roll like -- bagel is their thing. To me, it was a little too much bread/filling. A little too soft around the edges. But, that said, they do make a mean BEC sandwich and the timing of it was pretty good. So, to each their own I say. It may not be my favorite bagel place, BUT it's a very solid place with awesome coffee choices to make up for it. A win in my book. read more

This is a hard review to write because I love Pauli's. I'm giving this rating one star because I was in over the weekend -- my first visit in months while we've all been sheltering in place as a result of the global pandemic -- and when I walked in I was stunned to see that they had no social distancing practices in place. There were customers in the store without masks (including a Norwalk police officer), and they hadn't made any changes at all to the flow of customers to ensure people could safely be in the store (I had several people ask me to move because I was blocking the self serve coffee carafes while standing in line to check out). I paid for my breakfast...then went home and threw it out. If they can't be bothered to follow the guidelines established by the state of CT to keep their employees and their customers safe, I can't trust that my food is safe to eat. Breaks my heart to say that, but it's how I feel. read more

Just started a new job in the area so I decided to check out some of the local breakfast joints. I really wasn't impressed with Domenicks so I gave Pauli's a go. I'm SO glad I did. For just a bit over $5 I ordered this massive western omelette on an onion bagel. Super tasty! I enjoyed every bit of it. The price, the food, the speed. 5 stars in my book! Love Pauli's! First off, they are the nicest people--and the spot, while tight inside, is super cute. Some tables to chill, and a lot of coffee to chose from. They have a TON of bagel selections, and from what non-Celiacs have told me, the bagels are good. For me--they do gluten free right! They have a separate toaster and prep area, for gluten free foods. Service is super quick. Note: they are always busy and you will always see a police officer or firefighter(thank you for your service guys!) in there--it's one of their food spots. read more

Waking up in CT hungry for an everything bagel I took to my Yelp app. 25 reviews is a lot for this area especially a bagel place I figured it must be checked out. I got my everything and he got a turkey and egg white wrap. I asked for my bagel to be lite....I hate bagels that are even a little bit burnt. They brought the food right to our table. The owner asked when we paid if my bagel was lite. I said yes and informed him that everything was delish and he would be getting a 5 star yelp review. Then he gave us 4 free bagels to say thanks! We felt bad arriving ten minutes before closing (3pm on a Saturday) but the staff was still more than happy to serve us. The location is right off the highway - convenient for folks passing through town and infinitely tastier option than fast food. The place is spotless - including the bathroom. We got an Italian and which and chicken salad sandwich and both were outstanding! Great drinks and sweets selection too. AND they threw in the last of the bagels for free!
