Did a mini drive to get out of the house and we ended here and we were very pleased! Great customer service, they took orders out of a window and the lovely lady was helpful in answering our questions and ordering! It was freshly prepared and all of us loved our meal! My cousin had a pasta with artichoke and capers I had the pesto grilled cheese and clam chowder while my husband got an Italian sandwich! Great ingredients and top 5 in clam chowders, the one drawback is for my and my husbands half sandwich it was pretty price for the size but we both agreed it made up for it a bit with how great it tasted!! Everything about our dinner here was 5-star: very attractive, comfortable space, tables not crowded together so noise level was just right; our server, Marion, was efficient, helpful, and personable; we split a delicious, imaginative green salad with goat cheese, almonds, and figs (when I asked for no figs because my wife cannot eat them, Marion asked if I'd like them, in which case she'd bring them to me on the side...I did, and they were a wonderful addition); my wife had the scampi without garlic and with GF pasta, which could have been very bland, but instead was very flavorful, shrimp perfectly done; I had the special of halibut with a relatively light hazelnut cream sauce (WOW!), garlic mashed potatoes, and green beans. This was one of the best fish n' chips I have had! Might be better than Proper Fish in Bainbridge. Fries were seasoned nicely and crispy, but not overdone, the cod used tasted very fresh along with the light, nicely seasoned batter. I ordered the cole slaw which was extra, I prefer a creamier dressing, but it was a good balance to the fried food! I also ordered a local Kombucha which it was nice to have some non-alcoholic or (very low alcohol anyways) local choices. Service was great, attentive and very friendly! And it was exactly that Saturday evening, the 26th of April. Lets talk about that drink. I believe it was a Cherry Rum Manhattan. Don't quote me on that, but my God was it amazing! Not sure for certain what was in it, but a high shelf rum, fancy cherry syrup, just a drop, bitters, and a whole lot of baby makin goodness. It came in a Martini glass, burgundy in color and those fancy Italian Cherries, 2 on a pick, laying across the top of the glass. My oh My... The food. I ordered the Halibut special with Strawberry Rhubarb Chutney, couscous, and veg. The Halibut was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the 3 piece fish and chips and commented, not greasy and loved the batter. Our server Jonathan, also a bartender, made my drink, and as sexy as it was, at the same time, it had What we Danes call Hygge. Like a warm hug. Cozy. We will certainly be back. Thankfully, the restaurant hostess jotted down our name and phone, and immediately made a "reservation" while we were being seated. My friend was begging me to visited this restaurant. The ambiance is kind of old school, reminds me of the early 2000's (what are we calling this time, officially?) The place was kind of hot and the air a bit stuffy. I got the steak salad. It was delicious. The steak was cooked almost as rare as I like it, and it was perfectly seasoned. It was kind of small though. I had a second lunch about 2 hrs later. Had some time to kill before catching the ferry back home we decided to check this place out for dinner. they were able to accommodate a table for 8 at 6pm and we must have just called in time because when we showed up, they were slammed. 1) Fish tacos - not deep fried, but seared fish! it came with a mayo based sauce though and i would rather have some sort of sour cream base sauce. 2) Kids mac-n-cheese: so good. it is homemade and i was quite impressed by it and was glad the kids couldn't finish it so I could help them out. 3) NY strip - decent steak topped with mushrooms. nothing ultra special about it, but they did cook it perfectly medium. 4) Prosciutto wrapped ling cod was phenomenal. not overcooked, but the prosciutto had a nice crisp and helped flavor the fish perfectly. Our waitress was also great and was engaging with the kids. check this place out. you wont be disappointed! read more

We were very excited to try this cafe only to be quite disappointed by the food and slow service. My fish and chips were soggy from excessive grease pooling on my plate. The fish was not cooked through and I could not eat half of each piece. Everything was lacking flavor and seasoning. My boyfriend ordered the roast beef and blue sandwich with coleslaw , he said it was "okay". The temperature of the food was barely warm, as if it were sitting around before we received it at our table. Service was slow and lacked personality and a sense of welcome. Salmon fish and chips was very flavorful and perfectly cooked, no fishiness - just smooth salmon meaty texture and flavor. The chips were crisp and had fun herbs and a good amount of salt. The Friday night we arrived in Port Townsend was very busy. We thought we had reservations at another location an a mix-up there resulted in a last minute scramble to find a dinner locale. The staff at Silverwater were so nice and accommodating, despite having a full reservation roster, they worked us in after a cancellation a few moments later. What great timing! Nice surprise. Quintessential Port Townsend, understated, well sourced food, prepared well and served with great finesse (by Norina). Surrounded by over-bright touristic places, here, you get good local ingredients, thoughtfully blended and cooked - we had the two daily specials: a grilled chicken sandwich with melted provolone, olive tapenade, local greens and pesto aioli was a perfect blend with nothing overpowering the other. Nice! The seafood risotto was flavorful with a cornucopia of fish & shellfish. The rice wasn't as toothy as we like but the generous broth might have added to its softness. Great spot for teas! Their 32 Oz. tea system is both simple and clever. No kitchen pyrotechnics; no obscure gastronómica. Just superlative food, service and ambiance! The decor is amazingly comfortable yet not designery, a very rare achievement in commercial interiors, all each screaming for your attention without inviting you to sit and enjoy both the Neal and conversations. Even the sound system works, with a lively curated soundtrack (Santana, some times!) that wasn't too loud or too close to any table making speaking a chore. read more

This was a great find! I called about 6pm on a Saturday from the Coupeville Ferry Terminal asking for reservations knowing we would get in to Port Townsend soon. They were able to get me in and they were very friendly over the phone. Parking was easy on the street and they were very easy to find on Taylor St right off of the main drag. Service was exceptionally friendly even though you could tell everyone was very busy and they were buzzing around very quickly. The artichoke parmesan pate was excellent as an appetizer! It was very professionally done. My dad had the lamb shank which was tender and huge! I had the shrimp scampi with the perfect sauce and spices. Overall just an excellent dinner! The raspberry cheesecake and chocolate torte finished off the evening and they were heavenly. I would highly recommend this place for a great dinner! Sometimes it's hard to find really good food in touristy towns but this place was solid! read more

We had plenty of very good fries to split also. The clam chowder was excellent. The soup special, a blended winter squash soup was fine, if a bit bland for my taste. Once we finally reached Port Townsend after a long day, we were not too hungry and wanted "light" fare. This is definitely a seafood restaurant and I'm not too keen on that stuff (please don't shun me). It's definitely on the pricey side, but what I saw from neighboring tables, everything looked good. It's a nice, clean restaurant with great service. We were drinking water like no tomorrow and our waitress was great at making sure our glasses were always full and that we had everything. As for the food, my friend had the shrimp gumbo and remarked that it didn't look like gumbo, the overall flavor was "okay" and that the rice was too mushy. Their complementary bread with garlic butter was good. I had the side of sesame garlic soy green beans (because I wanted some Key Lime pie). The flavor was good, but towards the bottom they were sitting in a puddle of soy, so those beans were sacrificed. The Key Lime pie was delicious! I humbly disagree with the last reviewer. We had a crudely executed meal for the price point of $100 per couple. It was our 1st visit to the establishment. Yes the staff is lovely and polite. If I'd ordered the fish n chips @ 13 for 2 pcs or 16 for 3 pcs, maybe the review would be different........but.... sadly we believed the hyperbole. The menu is ambitious...lots of high end mains for 24 to 27 bucks..... we tried the prosciutto wrapped cod with a creamy sauce and the lavender ahi seared tuna: both were lacking in a major way: cod waaay over cooked, and the ahi tuna soggy clumsy fake wasabi, blackish lettuce side tuff outer lettuce leaves, mushy rice. Most over priced meal in last 2.5 months in America. Beverages: menu offered a chardonnay special 2014 Columbia Valley, but was served a 2015 vintage instead @ 28 bucks, drank like a yellowtail when the over cold bottle came up to room temperature, no wonder they tried to talk us into an ice bucket! disappointing. Does the name Charles Shaw mean anything to u? That kind of quality @35 after tax tip = unacceptable. desserts nothing to write home about either: "made in house" sour cherry pie was marginally better than the dairy free animal free blackberry version, whose crust was truly 'queer', and left unfinished. In conclusion: In our opinions, they might adopt the KISS priciple, keeping the menu shorter and simpler, doing the basic things really well. They certainly on this occasion lacked the finesse to execute the higher end dishes we tried. A weak 2 stars. 1.5 if I could.
