Silvio's remains a great option for filling, indulgent Italian that you don't need to wait for a special occasion to eat. It's more approachable than fine dining but still refined a bit to feel a little fancy. And the food seems reliably delicious. Or at least that's the sense I got after visiting for the first time in many years recently. My friend and I were able to get a table, though the restaurant did seem pretty busy. I enjoyed a glass of wine from the menu that started the meal off right. And then I dug into the bolognese. This four-meat sauce is served in rigatoni. It's not fussy, just delicious. The ambiance was cozy enough that you could talk to your dinner mate without shouting but also not feel cramped. Silvio's might get overlooked, but it seems a solid option for an Italian meal.

The food here is amazing! Miraculously flavorful with every bite. The owner greeted us with a smile and kindly asked where we'd prefer to sit. Throughout the meal, both she and her husband checked in on us, adding a personal touch that made us feel more like family than customers. Our server Michelle was great too! She walked us through the menu and helped us decide what to eat

After reading about it in the Louisville Takeout Facebook group, we went to Silvio's for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We ordered a Caesar salad, eggplant parmesan, cheese lasagna with a meatball, and broccoli. The food arrived quickly, was flavorful, and had huge portions. However, our pasta dishes weren't very warm/hot. Our server was attentive and friendly and even offered to take our photo after dinner. It's a solid choice for Italian food.

I travel all over the county every week and this was the BEST chicken parm I have ever had! Food was incredible, atmosphere was great, and the staff is where this place really shines. The staff were very friendly and incredible- rare to find a restaurant with service like this.

Service was wonderful, we felt like we were part of the family as soon as we walked in the door! Portions were so large, we could've split everything. I totally recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable dining experience where you're stuffed full of delicious Italian food at the end of the night.

The whole step up area was just crowed. I love the giant mural they have on the wall with details, low lights, & just nicely displayed table setting. I ordered beef carpaccio and was very excited due to seeing how popular this dish is online and it was pretty tasty, kinda like a salad. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.

Tucked away on Frankfort Avenue, it's a little off the beaten path, and parking can be an adventure. There's a small lot by the restaurant with overflow parking further down the hill. Somehow we managed to snag the only open space right outside the front door, which felt like winning a very specific Louisville lottery. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was already buzzing. It was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. While our table was being bussed, three different employees checked to make sure we were being helped. We let them know we were just a little early and waiting on our table, but it spoke volumes about the attentiveness of the staff. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood pizza spot: relaxed, lively, and unpretentious. The soundtrack quietly floating through the speakers was a crate-digger's delight, full of songs that have been sampled throughout hip-hop history. Hearing Lynn Collins' Think (About It) while waiting for dinner felt particularly apt following the recent passing of Rob Base. The song's iconic break became the foundation of It Takes Two, one of hip-hop's most recognisable records, and it was a nice reminder of how deeply great music connects generations. To start, we ordered the Olives & Togarashi, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives coated in a wonderfully aromatic blend of spices with notes of fennel, sesame and citrus. My son tried his first olive and was genuinely shocked by the flavour. He'll come around eventually. For the main event, we ordered three large pizzas: the DOP Margherita, the Funghi and the Original Sting. The DOP Margherita showcases imported buffalo mozzarella from Campania alongside basil and San Marzano tomatoes. The Funghi is loaded with an incredible blend of mushrooms, taleggio, pecorino cream and mozzarella. The Original Sting combines soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato and spicy local honey in a sweet-and-savoury combination that completely works. Now, let's talk about the crust. It is perfect. Pillowy and light, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying chew. The wood-fired oven creates just the right amount of charred bubbling around the edges. Our server offered house-made ranch and other dipping sauces for the crust, but we politely declined. This pizza doesn't need any enhancers. The balance of flavours across all three pies was exceptional. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and Pizza Lupo belongs in that conversation. It really is that good. We had a plan: sample all three pizzas and leave just enough room to split the tiramisu. Thankfully, we stuck to it. The tiramisu was fresh, light and beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet, nicely moist, with just enough espresso flavour coming through. It was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal. The service was fast without feeling rushed, friendly without feeling scripted, and genuine throughout the evening. We left full, not bloated, and happy as spring lambs, already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll defo be back. Cheers, Sam
