Their burger week specials smashed! The All B It Burger was unique with Brie, bacon, spring mix, and blueberry bourbon BBQ sauce. It was a bit of a disaster to eat, but a delicious disaster. Drake's is exactly what I picture for a sports bar, with booths and high-top tables, and plenty of TVs around. I was so shocked the 1st time I visited to see sushi on the menu next to burgers. The service was great and it's very accommodating. Because it's such a big location, it can fit large parties easily. So very convenient for a work lunch. The food is good, but not great. I got the tailgate burger and it was very good pretty heavy and filling the waitress recommended. I get the tater tots over the fries and I completely agree. I'm not a crinkle cut or waffle fry person, I liked the crispiness of the tater tots. We also got the buffalo chicken quesadilla, which was very filling and good, but again nothing special. 7/18/2026 It was Burger Week and we wanted to get one more Hamburger at Drake's so we went over to the St Matthews Location. Luke B was going to be our server and he was so good! He explained both my Steakhouse Burger and my husband's All B It Burger. They were both very good and Luke checked on us more than 5 times at the least. He was really impressive. I have to say we ate at Drake's 3 times this week. The staff was great at all of the locations. Some of the sandwiches may stay for an extra month. It was very quiet at this time of night. So firstly, I want to say I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 3 because the food was super good. We got amazing fried pickles. My MIL got sushi and so did my husband. And me and my SIL got fish sliders. The service is what was lacking at one point we had to go ask where my drink was because it took that long. Then our check took forever to come also even though she had brought us boxes 15-20 minutes before so we were obviously done. Just twirling our thumbs. And then it wasn't even a printed check it was toast on a tablet so I don't get what the wait was for to be honest. They have a huge dedicated parking lot in the back. And they have the front room that they open the walls up in the warmer months. Overall it's hard to not like drakes but quite a bit of our time was wasted. Drake's buffalo chicken quesadilla is spot on. Perfect amount of buffalo sauce, great flavor, and just the right heat--spicy enough to know it's there, but not "I need milk and life choices" spicy. The only thing hotter than the quesadilla? The volume of the Christmas music. I love a good holiday jam, but it was so loud you couldn't have a normal conversation unless you were willing to yell lyrics to Jingle Bell Rock across the table. Turn the music down just a notch and this place would be a 5-star experience--my ears would appreciate it as much as my taste buds did. read more

Had my first bad meal at Drakes recently. I'll continue to dine at Drakes but will never order anything with bacon again. They served me virtually raw bacon on a BLT. Meal went uneaten yet the server never asked if something was wrong. Should be illegal to charge these prices for food that isn't edible. read more

We love drakes. Started with the pretzels which are a little different than normal. The mustard also really didn't pair well. I had the pork dumplings which were very tasty but I hated the sauce that came with them. I'd recommend soy sauce instead. I got the lava roll which was very yummy. My husband got the filet and California roll. Steak was great. Our server was nice and attentive. We love the chill atmosphere and all the TVs for a fun afternoon. read more

It's a nice place with decent food, but they aren't accommodating for sporting events. They will not turn the sound on for big sporting events like the World Cup (even for USA games). Apparently they think people would rather listen to dated pop music instead of the games. read more

It was completely empty and our server was nowhere to be found for probably 20 minutes before we even ordered. We had to remind her about drinks and appetizers. Then she disappeared again and we had to find another server and did not see her for the rest of the night. Then the next time we went same thing happened. We had to see three different servers. They all disappeared and had to keep asking and going up to the bar to ask where our server went. Recently I keep on having these occurrences and it is really unpleasant to see as this was our favorite place to go. read more

Came here to have a few drinks, some food, and watch football with friends and this was the perfect place. There's multiple screens throughout the restaurant which made it perfect for watching sports. The weather was amazing so they opened the big garage doors to the outside as well! We ordered a few beers, Moscow mule and mint blackberry mule (my favorite!) to drink. For appetizers and food we ordered pretzels and cheese, Buffalo chicken sliders with sweet potato fries, and a brunch quesadilla. Our favorite was the sliders and fries! The service was great, our server was very attentive and friendly! We will definitely be back to try some other food and watch games! read more

Cool little sports bar that serves awesome food and great sushi! Our waitress Anna was amazing.

We were here for happy hour on a weekday afternoon. After just 1 or 2 beers for each of us, the woman bartender told us they would not be serving us anymore. We told them we only had 1 or 2 beers and asked her why and she wouldn't tell us. Perhaps we were just talking and laughing a bit too loud, but in the bar area just laughing as we haven't seen each other in a while. It was no big deal as we just left and went down the street, but strangest request ever. I won't pass along the speculations we had regarding any subconscious biases of the bartenders, but we older middle aged adults were all just dumbfounded since it was first experience in our lives to be denied service. I've enjoyed Drake's in Lexington before and this was our first time to try it in St. Matthew's in Louisville. It was OK but I doubt I'd make a special trip to go to this location again. Had a great experience at this location for the Penn State football game. They put the game on for us and the service was great even for a busy night. They appetizers were the normal bar style apps but they were really good. The fried pickles were my favorite. They also have a good tasting sushi bar. I had the salmon sashimi and being from the east coast where seafood is very popular and normally fresher this sushi tasted pretty fresh. I recommend going here. read more

My daughter was hungry for sushi and I really wasn't in the mood. To my pleasant surprise I found this place that has your standard sports bar food like burgers and sandwich AND sushi! Who'da thought? My daughter indeed ordered the sushi which she said was good and my wife had the black bean burger with tots. I had the mini cheeseburgers which were solid. I love smash burgers and these had a great charred taste. I also thought the crinkle fries were very good. They also had plenty of TVs everywhere with a variety of sports. March 2025 Really horrible experience, the food came out ice cold and there were additional elements/requests with the order that never arrived (nor did they come when requested again). Told server about cold food and re-orders but the hot food never arrived. Hamburger and bun was ice cold and tasted really greasy. Cold hamburgers are not fun to eat. Service was extremely slow. Not once did waiter provide refills. Had to ask. We were there 2 hours from seating to exiting the restaurant. This is a burger joint, not Jeff Rubies.. Give me a break. A manager came over twice at our request and said they would follow up on orders but never came back to report progress. They do have nice big TV's however. We are not going back! read more

My retirement party was hosted last night at Drakes St Matthews. The turnout was incredible, way more people than we expected. We took over many tables and a good portion of one corner. We had 3 servers, I'm afraid I didn't get any of their names, but they did an outstanding job taking care of everyone. The food and drinks were excellent! I highly recommend the cucumber vodka cocktail- delicious!! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate all of us, and a great time was had by all! So thank you to the staff, servers, bartenders and cooks. Well done! It was an epic party and a truly wonderful start to my retirement life! I will be back for sure! read more
