So I went for the Love Island Watch Party and a TIME WAS HAD. Place was PACKED. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The A/C was down (heat wave week, it's fixed, y'all so don't worry), but that didn't stop the staff from hustling! And bless those cooks in that kitchen-I can't imagine. I got a gin and tonic. Solid. And hot honey chicken tenders, chips with queso and salsa. The queso was really delicious, creamy, smooth with a hint of spice. And the tenders... do y'all brine them?? Because they were really tender and delicious. The energy was great. It would be easy to host this kind of thing but roll your eyes and begrudge us (and our HYPE), I have seen this happen elsewhere, but here, they really, really embraced it. Stopped in Saturday night and I glad we did. This is a very friendly and comfortable venue, that has a FUN vibe. Parking is a little iffy, but not if you think outside the box. Service was unobtrusive, timely and friendly. The food items were a treat. Smash burgers, if you like them Tin Roof has them and they are tasty. Also the fries that come with are not your regular krinkle kuts. The are KK on steroids. All of the menu items were cooked perfectly and made with fresh ingredients. Was super pumped by the music playing as we walked by but in the end was a total kill joy after we entered the club. Play more of a song and have enough bartenders to service all your guests. My first time here and had such a poor vibe, won't be back. Also my partner bought a shot of Pappy. It was totally hot tasting and he said it wasn't legit. The food here and service is above all amazing. They are very creative with various events through out the week. From life music, Trivia, Music Bingo, Djs, charity fundraisers and event hosting there is always something going on here. Their menu is a great variety leaving a tough decision of picking a favorite. For me I would have to say the Philly cheesesteak with tots! All of the bartenders and wait staff are super friendly and make you feel like family. Even the GM Chris will come around chat with you! I have mixed feelings about Tin Roof. It's something different than the bars at 4th Street and Bardstown Road. I have been here three times and each one has been a different experience. The heads up with this particular location is that it is a live music joint. Also, the space is small so it is hard to have a good time when you're being pushed around. Experience 1: This is the best one. I came here with a few friends to celebrate one of them graduating college. It was very chill and all the tables were out. There weren't a lot of people out so it was easy to talk to your friends. This time there was a live musician, he wasn't bad but I prefer a DJ. Luckily, the guy interacted with the crowd so that was a bonus. Experience 2: This was my least favorite.It was crowded and there was a live band that didn't really play songs that people can dance to. The bartenders were also kinda out of it so it took a while to get a drink. Experience 3: My friends and I came here for 4th of July weekend and this was the only time that they had a DJ. It was crowded as hell, but it's whatever. Even though there was a DJ, the music was remixed really bad so it was hard to dance to. Tin Roof isn't a bad place to go if you are looking for something new. I will probably come back, but it is never my first pick. read more

Service was slow which seemed odd to me and my friend because there were two servers and maybe 4 tables at the most. When folks come in there for lunch and they're dressed in dresses and ties, they're obviously on lunch breaks so it would seem the servers would have a greater sense of urgency. The food was pretty good, but I was only there because there was a 25% off special and we had to go there to get our Tap and Run entries anyway. I'd probably go there again late at night to drink beer with friends and/or to hear live music, but not just to dine. My first visit to the Tin Roof was epic. I went because a friend's band was playing but so glad we got there before it got too crazy so we had time to eat. I arrived Sat at 8pm and totally lucked into a parking spot directly across from the location. Score...and thanks to Dad for teaching me how to parallel park. We sat ourselves and looked over the menu. There's something for everyone. We shared the loaded tots, which are like Crack and ventured out from there. My friends went for the quesadillas and the selection of different street tacos that are only $3 a piece. I tried the Shrimp Po Boy which really should come with a wet napkin, but overall was excellent. It was super messy so be prepared. I also got tots as a side because they were just so good. Drink cups were large which is nice. And of course they also have a good drink selection, again something for everyone. This location seems to have all kinds of games on hand that you can play at your table, but tonight I was here to see the band and of course they didn't disappoint, the location has a great stage and it wasn't long before the place was filling up. By about 11pm they had taken our table away to make space for more people, which was totally expected and we were more than done with our food by that point. It's not bad. I did NOT know ahead of time that it was a live music venue, so I did NOT know ahead of time that there would obviously be a cover for such a venue. But cover is to be expected for a live music place. Since the bar is in St. Matthews and it isn't a dive, drink prices are higher than what I like. But service was pretty quick for how busy it was and the bartenders were pleasant. The band wasn't....great. The songs they played were to my liking. But the band wasn't great. So I was a little cranky about having to pay cover. But I wouldn't be against going back. read more

I'm torn between one star and two stars, but I guess I'll go with 1 since I've never been impressed here. Bartenders are not skilled in mixology. In my most recent Friday night experience, they can adequately provide beer and straight shots. I tried to order a kamikaze (vodka, triple sec, lime juice) and was met with brutal honesty. The bartender lacked that knowledge. I then ordered an LIT and was given tequila, sour mix, and a splash of coke. It was mostly sour mix. I then made the decision to stick with shots and beers since the Neanderthal bartenders lacked the appropriate bartending experience to provide any drink one step up from basic. I will not be returning to Tin Roof for Friday night shenanigans as they do not meet the minimum expectation I have for an entertainment venue. Bar staff is a joke and management should be ashamed. This review is ONLY for the food, since this was a Postmates order. The menu itself is a lot more impressive than your typical bar menu. Of course they have your typical quesadillas, burgers, wings, etc, but they've also got chicken/waffles, brisket, and what I ordered, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I had no reason to believe a restaurant would dare put anything on a hot chicken sandwich other than pickles, so I ordered without looking. These guys decided to put ranch potato salad on the sandwich. Completely ruined it for me. I'm still giving them a death stare, two days later. Definitely one of my favorite bars in Louisville. Being 21, I like how it usually consists of a younger crowd, especially college kids, and not filled with a bunch of creepy old men. It can get very crowded on Saturday nights, but it's personally never bothered me. Sometimes they have beer pong tables set up, and I love the outside area in the back. One of my favorite things about Tin Roof is the music. Call me basic, but I love mainstream music, which is pretty much all they play. They've always got classic throwbacks on too. Service was awful, it took 15 minuets for the server to greet the 4 of us and bring us waters. We ordered drinks, then waited another 15 minuets and ordered food. After ordering our food and sitting there for 30 minuets, we went to the bar and ordered our own drinks. The sever then saw that we had drinks and comes back to say, "I hate it when I have to go to the bar and tell them not to serve my table drinks, it makes me look like an asshole!" This was crazy, I've never had a server be so rude, my girlfriend went off and told her that she was extremely slow and was cleaning off tables instead of getting drinks (she probably forgot to get our drinks and was butt hurt we went to the bar) we were so close to leaving, but we decided to stick it out. The reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was great and the band they had was awsome. I got the southern burger because it was one of the most popular items, it had cheddar, bacon, fried green tomatoes and was delicious. The southwest quesadilla was good too. On my first visit to Tin Roof I didn't know what to expect because of all the poor reviews. My friends and I meet up once a month after work to have a Girl's Night so we were on the hint for something new. Our spot used to be 60 West but unfortunately it closed. I do miss $5 martini nights! We decided to try Tin Roof because they seemed to have some decent happy hour specials. My food was actually pretty tasty. Nothing mind blowing, but good. The four of us split the fried pickles ($3) and the Queso Blanco with chips ($5-not on Happy Hour special). Separately I also had the Del Sol Quesadilla ($6) and three Bud Light drafts ($2/beer). My total bill with tip was under $20! Now that's what I call a bargain. I was very happy. The fried pickles had the right amount of zing & batter (not greasy/cooked perfect), the queso was white with some jalapeño pieces floating around in it. It had great flavor. Unfortunately we had to ask for new tortilla chips because our first batch had a flavor of kerosine. Eww! I think they were old or the oil was old. The next batch was ok. A few of the chips had a stale taste even though they were supposed to be fresh. The Del Sol Quesadilla (It shows Pollo Del Sol in the menu. Why they word it differently is odd to me.) was yummy! I was pleasantly surprised. It had avocado, chicken, sun dried tomatoes, queso blanco & chipotle BBQ. It came with more tortilla chips, a side of salsa & a side of sour cream. Our waitress was very nice and she did a good job with all of our orders. I guess I would come back, but more than likely will try something different next time. These guys are nonsense. Not only it was an insult but a complete aberration what the security guy at the front door did to me. Long sorry short. I have been to Tin roof a couple of times before and it was fine. Last night I was denied entry to the premises because my ID expired a bit ago. Even though I was just there last week with the same ID. While trying to explain the security guy the reason of the expired ID. He could not give me a solid reason for why the let me in before and not anymore. And could not explain either why a person has to have a valid DRIVERS LICENSE to get into a bar. WHAT IF I DONT EVEN DRIVE ANYMORE?? Do I have to carry my passport and visa everywhere in order to proof people stuff?. In addition to all bigotry. The security guy could not tolerate factual reality and had to have the cops ask me to leave even though I was not even stepping on private property as all of these occurred while on the curbside. I wish I could've liked this place better. Here are the good things: the parking is convenient. The guacamole is probably the best I've had anywhere. Here we're the mediocre things: the service was odd... server walked off halfway through the order (we seriously had to call them back!). We didn't get a refill at all the whole time. Our order was missing an item and the server took a visible water drink break before getting it! We were bothered but it was very weird. The atmosphere was alright. A little unkempt. It all started in Atlanta back in 1996. We were originally located in Buckhead where the locals kept the place packed and musicians kept the place rocking. With great live music being such a driving force for our success, it made perfect sense to move the concept to Music City, USA. In February of 2002, we opened the Tin Roof on Demonbreun Street at the base of Nashville's famed music row. The Roof (as it's known to our Regulars) has been a hit ever since. Tin Roof Lexington was opened in the spring of 2009 after back to back visits to the Music City Bowl brought thousands of UK fans to Nashville and the Tin Roof. We liked them so much that we had to follow them back home! Later that fall, we opened Tin Roof Knoxville on the world famous Strip by the University of Tennessee and immediately learned all the words to Rocky Top! Tin Roof Columbia joined the family in 2010 after we converted a warehouse used for government offices into the liveliest joint in the Vista. Our second location in Knoxville opened Spring 2011 in the Rocky Hill neighborhood. Tin Roof Birmingham in the Lakeview district opened in January 2012. In May 2012 Tin Roof Indianapolis opened downtown Indy, steps from the Pacers home, Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tin Roof Cincinnati opened in September 2012 just in time to see our neighbors the Cincinnati Reds enter the playoffs! Tin Roof Louisville, located in historic Saint Matthews opened days later. 2013 has us expanding the Roof family to North Carolina, where in July we opened our 11th Tin Roof in Charlotte. This is the worst bar in Louisville by far. It is always overrun by people who turned 21 years old the previous week or have a fake ID to get in at 14 years old. The bouncers are sexist and will let girls fall on the floor, but if a male is "swaying," will have two bouncers aggressively escort him out. On top of that, I saw one of the bouncers get on a power high and display the utmost barbarian behavior on a female that was sticking up for one of these guys and put his hands on her neck pushing her aggressively out of the bar. He spilled her drink on her and at one point while pushing her against the guard rail, yelled, "I don't care that you're a girl!" I saw the whole scene and she had done nothing wrong, but stick up for her friend being kicked out for "swaying" in a bar where girls are rolling on the ground and throwing up in the corner. Unless you are looking to support a bar like this, I zero recommend going there. There are many better places to have a great time in Louisville and this place gives the whole city a bad name. read more

I have not been to Tin Roof for over a year. My teacher friends and I use to go there all the time for Friday Happy Hours because we loved the casual atmosphere and affordable food and drinks. We were all so excited to get back there yesterday for happy hour until we realized how incredibly overpriced their drinks have become. $7 for a Mich Ultra bottle????? Are you kidding me! Unfortunately we will not be back. The atmosphere and service is not that good to warrant severely overpriced beer. Super sad Tin Roof read more
