I am enthusiastically pleased with the service I received. I live overseas and was in the USA for only 4 wks, but forgot to book appointments until the last three days there. They were able to get me and my three sons in for cleanings, xrays and fillings in one day. Not only that, but I needed a root canal and crown--and the staff arranged for me to see an endodontist for a root canal the same day in another office and placed my crown and inlay. The office staff was friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate my short time frame and helped me negotiate pricing as we don't have dental coverage in the USA and had to pay cash. I felt like the procedures were clearly and fully explained, well executed and high attention was paid to my comfort and satisfaction. My six year old son had two fillings and didn't complain one bit. They took excellent care of him and he breezed through the numbing, drilling and fillings while watching a kid cartoon. I asked him how it all went and he rolled his eyes (as he often does) and said, "It was easy-peasy Mom...totally Mac N cheesy! So what are we doing later today?" That says it all. Careful, kind, compassionate...enough that my child wouldn't bat an eye and anxiously await the rest of the day's adventures. As a parent, nothing says loyal customer like a happy child after dental work. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a new dentist to go there. As someone from the US living abroad, I have done the "dental tourism" thing in Bangkok, and while the Thailand dental experiences I had were satisfactory and relatively timely, they simply do not compare. In Bangkok, even with an on site lab, I was there three days for three fillings, xrays, cleaning and perio--and the cost included international flights and hotel accommodations for that time. Simi Valley Smiles has the latest technology (Same day crown, inlay and root canal!! Enough said!!), caring staff and comprehensive care. I must make special mention of the office manager Mimi, who arranged and negotiated with the other office on my behalf for the root canal, as well as her assistant, Amanda, who was friendly, caring, compassionate and clearly explained all of my financial options and helped me negotiate the dental care of four people in one day. Dr. Ahdoot was amazing as well. Not only did he consult and excellently perform the procedures for me, he stayed a bit after office hours to finish his crown work to accommodate my narrow window of time in the USA. I called this dental office yesterday because I needed my wisdom teeth removed. I called them two days ago, the receptionist was wonderful and nice. I ended up going into the office that very day, they were able to make an appointment for an exam, xrays, and cleaning the same day, and an appointment to remove my wisdom teeth the next day! So, I get there, everyone working is wonderful and very sweet and they did wonderful to calm my nerves. The xray technician, the lady in charge of finance, the secretary and especially my dentist were all really sweet. My dentist was Dr. Ahdoot, and he was the best dentist I have ever had, he is so kind and compassionate. He went over my xrays with me, and was actually there doing my teeth cleaning (not sure if most dentists do this, but I have never had a dentist do the cleaning), and they used the water pressure technique, which is amazing! Dr. Ahdoot walked me through everything and spent a good deal of time preparing me for my wisdom teeth extraction the next day. I was so nervous and scared going into the dentist , but once I left the office I was feeling much more calm and confident thanks to Dr. Ahdoot and the rest of the staff. The oral surgeon, Dr. Yafai was just as nice and wonderful as Dr. Ahdoot. He walked me though everything that they were going to do while I was asleep, told me the risks involved and also how likely it was for something to go wrong, which did wonders for me and made me realize it was all going to be okay. I have health issues that effect my jaw which made me even more nervous and scared for this procedure. Dr. Yafai saw all this in my xray and went over all the other health concerns I had and how he personally was going to help make the procedure less painful to me and help my jaw heal faster. He exceeded any expectations I had for an oral surgeon because of all his knowledge, concern and compassion. I had been putting off getting my wisdom teeth extracted for about 2 years now. I was terrified and hated going to the dentist. After my two visits to Simi Valley Smiles though, I am excited to schedule my next cleaning and my whole family is also planing on switching to this dental office. I am still amazing at how wonderful Dr. Ahdoot and Dr. Yafai are, and if you are planning on getting your wisdom teeth taken out, you will be very glad if you schedule it with Dr. Yafai. read more

FEELS LIKE HOME My family and I have used Simi Valley Smiles as our dentist since they very first opened their doors ... really. It's a beautiful, modern office, the staff have always been friendly, and my dentist has always been honest, real and personable. Even my children look forward to their visits (the video game & DVD corner and toys helped I think). They've never pressured me to accept any treatment they've recommend. So, I've always felt in control to get just the treatment I need when I believe I need it. When I first found them, I really needed to have some bad dental work fixed from another local dentist (now out of business) and was very worried about it and its cost and had been worried about it for a long time. Turned out only the crown need replaced, so I was a perfect candidate for their while-you-wait same-day make a crown CAD/CAM system. How convenient was that? Having been a software programmer for robotic lath manufacturer, I could not contain my curiosity as I watched my new tooth top being milled and shaped right in front of me. That tooth, that'll be a part of me to use for eating the rest of my life, is still great today. And my wonder didn't stop there, they have a full head x-ray machine for a first x-ray, which rotates around one's head to take a picture of one's mouth's bone structure. This place isn't just modern, it's downright futuristic! I just couldn't ask them to be more thorough. Regular x-rays and regular in-mouth photographs are done digitally so there's no wait for developing the negatives which make our visits faster. I can see the x-ray, and any potential issues, full screen during my consultation with the dentist. That's just one more thing that helps me feel I've made the right decision each visit. They've been understanding and flexible with our appointments in my experience. Sometimes we swap one family member for another's appointment. I rarely wait long, and don't mind waiting in the modern big-window-on-open-field-next-door storefront room watching the birds. I have read the review from 4/3/2010, and in conversation with them about it, found out they have new office staff since then. I guess something like that can happen to any dental office. I honestly think this place is a gem. On my last visit I discovered they now have Keurig type coffee maker. I love that. read more

I have been a patient at Simi Valley Smiles for 15 months now, and I must say that I have always received excellent customer service from everybody that works there. I am 31 years old now, and I have been to quite a few dentists over the years, but I have never felt as comfortable as I do here. Everybody at this office genuinely cares about each individual patient, and it shows. They definitely go way above and beyond what is expected of themselves to serve their individual patients. I know that I am in excellent hands here. Due to years of neglect on my part, I've had many procedures performed here. And I have always experienced fantastic results. There have only been one or two occasions where I have been less than satisfied with the results, but they always took the time to make it better right away, so that I always leave the office completely happy. Seriously, I've never heard of any other dental office that goes to such great lengths as this particular office does to make their patients totally satisfied. I have had multiple cavities filled, they have referred me to a fantastic endodontist to get a root canal, they referred me to an orthodontist to get braces, got composite fillings, got crowns on eight teeth, teeth cleaning, teeth whitening, regular exams, etc. All these procedures were very necessary for me, as I abused my teeth and myself for many years. Simi Valley Smiles has helped to fix me up, and I look better than ever, as a result. I am still not so sure if I am happy with two of my crowns that I recently got, but they have already offered to take care of that, so that I will be completely satisfied. Problem already solved. They are quick! I sincerely recommend Simi Valley Smiles to everybody. They are absolutely wonderful people. My particular dentist is Dr. Maurice Ahdoot, and he is great. ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10..10 BEING HIGHEST..i GIVE THIS OFFICE A 20!!! I had a dental emergency..couldn't get in to my dentist,made an appointment with SVS...so glad I did!!! Dr. Setareh should win an award for dentist of the year!! She is the most caring dentist I have ever been to! Her concern for my apprehension and pain was so appreciated. Everyone in the office was so kind. They had worked me in,as I was in such pain. Everyone APOLOGIZED for the wait...my goodness,they were doing me a favor to get me seen by the dentist! The office was busy,but everyone,from the receptionist,the dental assistant,the benefits coordinator to the dentist, made me feel as if I were the only patient there!!(in all my years with my regular dentists..none have ever apologized for any wait!!). My first impression occured while driving by the location, in my home town of Simi Valley. Just the thought of home makes me smile. Simi Valley Smiles business signs, and the fact that I truly needed a visit is what guided me there. my 1st visit was 2nd to none. Very warm and memorable. This Dental office is the best I've ever used. I've been using this office for the past few years for all my dental problems. I've never had great teeth, but they have helped me so much that my teeth are better now than they've been all my life. Yesterday was mine and my wife's first visit to Simi Valley Smile and from the time we walked thru the front doors We felt very comfortable. Amanda and Scott were both very courteous and professional. When I seen Dr. Ahdoot I was very impressed he told me what teeth needed pulling and what could be done after words and went over all the options' with me To find one that I would be happy with and could afford. never trying to push any expensive procedures like most of the other dentist I have been to. Scott then set up appointments for me that fit in with mine and their schedule. My wife didn't have an appointment but was due for a cleaning they not only fit her in but her x-rays showed two small cavies they were able to take care of everything while I was having my work done. I tried this place because It was recommended by Kaiser and I had a dental plan. Everyone was friendly, but the X-ray machine didn't work so after 3 tries I was moved to a different room with another machine. After finishing with X-rays I was moved again and a female dentist came in. She looked at the pictures and in 3 minutes informed me I needed a root canal and a new crown on my sensitive tooth. She also said with my insurance this would only cost $1700.00! She tried to get me to schedule my next appointment but I said no. After going home I received many phone calls trying to get me to schedule with them. I happen to know that a new crown isn't necessary for a root canal! The next thing I did is call my old dentist and make an appointment with him. After checking me out he told me to use Sensidyne toothpaste. For a $5 tube my mouth is perfect again. I told Kaiser about this but no one seemed to care. read more

I brought my daughter in late in the afternoon with a dental emergency. Her front tooth had broken. We had never been there before, but after they gave us a short tour, I was surprised to see that they would be able to do specialty services at the same location instead of us having to drive to another office for example a root canal. I was also impressed by their digital Xray machine and floor layout that gave privacy to each patient. Dr. Setareh was very honest about the treatment options and was willing to stay an hour late to take care of the broken tooth, which would have broken further if not treated right away. I knew that crowns on a front tooth were going to be very expensive, but Amanda was terrific at explaining the insurance coverages and out-of-pocket costs. Each and every staff member we have worked with has been knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. Yesterday, I went to this dental clinic for a routine cleaning. They took a bunch of X-rays, including a CBCT scan. When I asked why they were doing so many X-rays, they said it was a routine procedure. Then the dentist came in and told me I needed a deep cleaning. After that, the dental manager explained how much I would have to pay out of pocket, and honestly, it felt outrageous. I requested to have a regular cleaning instead, but the dentist denied my request. This situation feels like an example of dental care being treated more as a business than as healthcare. Doing a CBCT scan for someone who came in just for a cleaning seems unnecessary and excessive. I came for a simple cleaning, and they pushed a costly procedure that didn't seem justified. I'm disappointed with how this was handled and hope others are aware. read more

This is the first time I have ever been to a dentist where the patient's needs come first. They give you all the options not just the ones that benefit them the most. First visit a little over a month ago, after listening to my personal situation - she found a 40 year old root canal that had been improperly done. Immediately she set me up to see an endodonist, Ramin Khalili, DDS at First Street Dental Group (I will rate them separately, but again extremely satisfied with the immediate and thorough fixing of the problem. Everyone there is so unbelievably nice and helpful! They understand that dental work cost alot and do whatever they can to get the work done you need without causing you to go broke! They treat you like family and make sure you are very comfortable at all times. They very up to date with there dental technology. I will be going there for the rest of my life. All of my family members go there. Just to explain how great they are....my husband hates all doctors and will only go when he absolutely has to. He loved them....and plans to return. My husband couldn't afford to get the nicer crowns so he paid for the middle one's but thet upgraded him for free for the nicer ones. I cannot even begin to explain how great they are! read more

This place is incredible. I, like most people, was not a fan of going to the dentist. After going here, I can honestly say I wouldn't mind going everyday. They have all the latest technology and the friendliest staff. I wasn't planning on getting any work done that day when I walked in, but they made it so easy for me to take care of three large fillings that same day. With their totally sweet Cerec machine, they made my onlays while the doctor did my fillings and had everything done without wasting my time.
