I would leave 1 star but don't want my review to be regarded as fake. Oh my god, this place, they're exactly like the chain dental groups just pretending to be fancy and caring. I went in for a broken tooth that happened due to massive decay caused by a previous dentist that placed a composite filling ON TOP OF existing decay without removing it. This caused my entire tooth to rot and then finally break off, which I didn't know was happening until it broke and I could see the entire inside of the tooth literally decayed. I knew for sure I needed a crown because the entire tooth was destroyed. They took 2 radiographic xrays and the dentist came in and said that he didn't know if I would need a root canal or not and told me that I need two crowns, one for the broken tooth and one for the horribly done composite filling next to it (he said so the same thing doesn't happen to that tooth). They said they would do a pulp cap (indirect) after drilling the tooth and then put a crown. It turns out they only said this because they do not have an endodontist at their practice and wanted to get as much $$$ from me as they could without referring me out to a specialist, knowing full well that I NEEDED A ROOT CANAL AND NEEDED TO SEE A SPECIALIST and they knew that placing an indirect pulp cap WOULD ONLY FAIL AND CAUSE INFECTION to the entire tooth and that I would end up needing a root canal anyway!!!! And of course they would have still got their $$$ for the crown and procedure and it wouldn't be their problem when it failed and required a root canal. It is well known that any kind of pulp capping is not reccomended when the tooth requires placement of a crown. It's usually only done when the tooth can be filled with composite, where a filling is sufficent. You would not use a pulp cap for the enevitable large area of pulp that would have to be exposed in order to successfully remove the extensive decay completely. The crown will fail, the entire tooth will fail, infection and necrotic tissue will be present throughout. Infection and necrotic tissue is likely ALREADY PRESENT! So of course it needs a root canal, the decay had taken over the entire tooth, you can't drill all that out without hitting the pulp and damaging it, it's not going to miraculously repair itself. You can't just leave the decay in the pulp and hope it spontaneously disappears with a magical medicated pulp cap!!!!! On top of this, they had a waiting list of over a month before you could even get an appointment to fix anything! So I went to Elite Dentistry for a second opinion and the dentist there took one look at the tooth and said it was "110%" root canal lol. He said there should never have even been a question of whether or not it was needed, that you don't even need to look at the xray to know it needed a root canal, and he couldn't believe they suggested a pulp cap on a tooth that was without a doubt completely decayed and dead. He also took an xray of the other tooth they said needed a crown so "the same thing doesn't happen" and told me that tooth had no decay, just a very ugly poorly done composite filling, and that I should leave it alone until the filling comes out (which will happen, because the filling was much too large for a back molar, but we don't know when it will decide to fail) and he advised me to just keep and eye on it and make sure to floss well around the gum line, where the composite filling is likely to collect bacteria. He said it is better to wait as long as I can before getting a crown on it so I can preserve as much natural tooth as possible until there isn't any other choice. So cool that the doctor was honest and actually cared about what would be best for ME in the long run instead of intentionally ruining my teeth to make more $$$. They also were able to schedule me to get the root canal next week, and had way more options for the choice of crown materials. Thank god I went here for the second opinion instead of letting Tenggren Dental screw around on my teeth so they could fill their own pockets. If you need anything more then a filling, Tenggren Dental will likely try to get as much $$$ as possible out of you, even if that means neglecting to refer you to a specialist when necessary, and preforming a treatment that has no benefit, no possibility of success or stability, or even one that may cause further complications that lead to infection and severe illness. Its not their problem anymore once they get what they can out of you as a basic dentist. Oh and also, they have several dentists there, none of which are the dude you see in the photo. I saw some guy with a Japanese last name who barely spoke to me and when he did it was to belittle me and make me look stupid. They also charged me $125 for an xray of my 2 back teeth and for the hygienist to explain everything so the dentist could leave the room after 1 minute. read more

I've had a lot of dental work in my lifetime, and it's usually mildly to moderately painful. I've been going to Tenggren Dental for about five years and have had a lot of work done here, and I've never had even the slightest pain during treatment. I've never felt like I'm being 'sold' on a procedure, or recommended anything that wasn't necessary. I shopped the quote they gave me on Invisalign and it's as good or better than anywhere else. And they've done a good job working with my dental insurer. I'm not one to leave a customer review; however, I feel as though this establishment deserves praise. I've just recently left their offices as a patient and thought I'd strike the iron while its hot with my feedback. I've NEVER experienced the level of accommodation, respect and value as I have at this office. Starting from my initial exam, I received a level of care that I hadn't been privy to in previous years. I've always had a negative connotation about dental office's because of prior experiences but this place truly changed my perspective. Not only do they make you feel 100% confident in their Doctors (and assistants) skill set but they actually care about your well-being. Unfortunately, I cant recall the name of the dental assistant that assisted in my initial exam - but she and Dr. William Puetz, really instilled a lifestyle change in me when it comes to takingcare of your dental health. Truly, they gave me a real (but very nice) wake up call. From there, they were keen on finding solutions and made me feel at ease. There was no sense of embarrassment that honestly, I would've felt had I gone anywhere else. Although I could not financially take care of every necessary procedure - which is not their fault - I was fortunate enough to be able to rectify a priority issue in my second visit. Here, Dr. William Puetz and his dental assistant (so sorry I'm terrible with names!) made me feel at ease once again. From the music walking in, to the gentle needle touch, and lastly to the instructive after care - this office genuinely does it all. As if that wasn't already enough, the interior and machinery of the office is like the Rolls-Royce of doctors offices'. I say this without a doubt: had I received this care years ago, I believe I could've had a better sense of dental care and wouldn't have had the ever so daunting dental office anxiety that many of us feel. I was recommended to Dr Tenggren over a year ago from a friend and was pleasantly surprised how clean and friendly this office and their staff are. I have had cavities filled to being treated for Invisalign so I frequent the office once a month on average. Each time I'm met with professionalism and friendly smiles. Dr Tenggren himself is out on medical leave which at first selfishly made me nervous since I really liked Dr Tenggrens bedside manners and attention to detail. I was introduced to Dr Bui and quickly was relieved, as he too is very professional and good at what he does(and he wears Yeszys!). Overall I'm super impressed with this practice. Another stand out STAR at this office is Dana. She is so warm and genuine, she truly listens to me and my concerns and has such a finesse to the way she cares for her clients. Sometimes you don't feel comfortable making suggestions to others since they are the professionals, but Dana is so approachable and sometimes I can tell she is reading my mind with my questions or concerns, she's a true asset. I went in today as a new patient after not being to the dentist in 3 years. I was quite nervous. When I called to make the appointment, they were very nice and helpful, and soon after I got a confirmation email with the paper work attached. I also received a phone call two days before my appointment to remind me. I was greeted promptly and given a new patient bag and given direction as to where to go and what I would be doing first (I believe her name was Elise). Next I had my teeth cleaned by Joanne, who did such an amazing job and put my nerves to rest. She took X-rays and escorted me into the next room to see the dentist. How did I not think to check if Tenggren Dental was on Yelp!? Dr. Tenggren is the best dentist I have had (and I have had a lot). I grew up with lots of dental issues. I've had a full mouth of caps, every molar has been filled, cysts in my gums, and now a crown. I have had dentist anxiety like many (and I mean serious panic attacks). I still have some dentist anxiety, but none of it has ever been because of Dr. Tenggren. He has filled 15+ cavities for me and given me a crown, and not once have I ever had a bad experience. If you feel any pain, he will stop and check the anesthetic. Most of the time you don't even have to let him know you are feeling pain. He really pays attention to your face and body language and tries to prevent any discomfort. I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Tenggren. So, in short, if you need a fantastic dentist or are unhappy with the one you have now, you need to go visit this office. read more

BEWARE. The hygienist was very good. Saw the dentist for less than a minute to tell me x-rays look "fine." Yet, they charge me for the entire amount, as if I actually saw the dentist. Further, they say the first appointment must be for 2 hours (not exactly sure what for because we never saw the dentist), and they REFUSE to accommodate me and my two daughters to come in at the same time, so we are forced to schedule THREE separate appointments, causing me to miss work THREE separate times. Further, they tell us an amount of $160 for deep cleaning and trick us into signing an agreement (in the stack of papers everyone signs at the dentist) with very fine print that we are agreeing to pay a higher amount, so we get a bill of $300 because they said that our insurance didn't pay what they thought they would. Why not call ahead of time to get the insurance payment amount and tell us the actual amount it will cost us? I'm convinced it's because they know NO ONE would agree to that. This way, they can say, "...well...you agreed to it when you signed." When, ACTUALLY WE NEVER AGREED TO IT, nor would we. read more

I was a long time customer of Dr Tenggren. He went out on an injury over 2 years ago and had several substitute dentists. Unfortunately I was having two crowns done during this time. One of the dentist drilled my tooth down way too far while prepping it for a crown. To make a very long 2 year journey short, the tooth had to be pulled out and I now have a bridge. I battled his office step by step as they basically didnt want to accept fault. Dr Tenggren never once called me to apologize and check in until I demanded he call me. I couldn't believe he wouldn't call me after knowing what was going down with me. They tried to charge me for all of the work including their botched job and my bridge. I filed a grievance and my insurance went after them. They're money hungry. This all began because I had that unused insurance and they said why not just redo that crown. Besides this they call you nonstop to change out your appointment. That's annoying. Now I have a bridge for the rest of my life to worry about breaking. Let me tell you about my First visit at Dr. Tenggren's office! I had a chipped tooth and was very apprehensive since I usually never have anything other than cleanings done! I found Dr. Tenggren to be genuine and very caring! The staff was very professional and made sure I was covered through my insurance.
