    Cheddar bagel 5-12-24

I had a break between clients so a coworker and I decided to come to Simones for a bit. There was an older gentleman behind the counter that had greeted me while the cashier set up the cash register. She also greeted me after she finished and was ready to take my order. I got a cheddar bagel with cream cheese. They asked if I wanted the bagel toasted which I said yes. It was a nice breakfast since I had not eaten anything yet.

Second time coming to Simones and I got the Arugula & Avocado toast $13. kind of pricey and a large iced coffee $7. First off avocado toast was good maybe because I love Arugula and cherry tomatoes and feta and vinaigrette drizzle lol. Worth the price? Maybe..put it on a crunchy sourdough toast so its not so soggy then yes worth the price. Second, my iced coffee with soy was good but had better. Weird thing is they dont have the straws out, the sugar out and basically the condiments out for their customers to just get themselves and you have to ask. Their so busy and I have to catch one of them to just ask for a straw or stevia! Finally it is extremely hot inside so if your looking for a study spot...great as they have ample outlets but damn their air conditioning does not work. I had to buy a fan at dollar tree!

Stopped here on our drive home from Pismo Beach to Las Vegas for a much needed Matcha pick-me-up. The cafe is SUPER cute inside with a variety of seating options and nice décor. They have some cute little items for sale like decorative items for your home, which I liked. We were there later in the day and they still had quite a few pastries available. I grabbed a chocolate chip scone & maple pecan butterscotch scone - both delicious for breakfast the next day. For my drink, I opted for a large iced brown sugar matcha with oatmilk - something on their special Spring menu. I'm obsessed with all things matcha and have a cabinet full of matcha at home, so I feel like I know good quality when I come across it. The matcha here was just okay. It was kind of gritty which tells me they're not properly whisking the matcha. Flavor was lacking a tiny bit too, but it was mostly enjoyable. Service was not friendly at all. The girl taking my order seemed irritated to be working and the guy who brought my drink out also seemed miserable. For the 5 mins I sat there waiting on my drink, I didn't see a single employee smile, greet customers, or thank them as they left. Cute place, but customer service needs a big makeover.

Simone's Coffee and Tea - Where Flavor, Vibes & Community Brew Together Looking for your next go-to coffee spot in Ventura? Simone's Coffee is the hidden gem that locals already know--and once you visit, you'll understand why. Parking? Plenty. Seating? Cozy with elbow room to spare. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm, informed staff who know their coffee and their customers. Massive muffins practically explode with flavor, fresh from the case. Whether you're here for a morning fix or an afternoon escape, laid-back Bob Marley hums through the speakers as the comforting grind of coffee beans sets the tone. Matcha lattes--local legends in their own right--are made with care, one delicious layer at a time. The space is bright and open, but still feels like a comforting nook where you can breathe, create, or just sip in peace. 70s feel-good tunes flow in and out, making even the wait feel like part of the experience. The mini recessed lounge spots are perfect for chilling out or catching up with friends. From expertly brewed coffees to dreamy shakes, teas, and smoothies--plus a lineup of vegan and traditional treats--Simone's doesn't just serve drinks, it serves joy in a cup (and on a plate). Warning: You will spend a few extra bucks. And you won't regret it.

Wow. This place is the real deal! My first impression was that it was nicely decorated, clean, and kind baristas. I am gluten free and they have gf friendly food (cinnamon roll, granola, etc.) the coffee... SO GOOD! You can tell they build their iced drinks correctly. What I loved most was the quality of their ingredients. The milk and coffee beans are locally sourced (I believe I read correctly) and taste top notch. Their granola is homemade, berries were fresh and the creamiest, plain yogurt (I believe also locally sourced.) 10/10 recommend, my new favorite shop! ....also they have free 2 hr WiFi :)

I don't know what took me so long to come to Simones. I recently visited and very much enjoyed the whole experience. Super cute and clean shop, great variety in food and drink selections. Staff were super nice and friendly. We tried their holiday menu drinks; Mexican mocha, peppermint bianco, and eggnog latte. We also tried their garden bagel and their plain cheese bagel with cream cheese. I had visited their location by the hospital and didn't think much of it but this location felt different for sure. Definitely enjoyed it and will be back.

I have been in the east end of Ventura more frequently recently because of the schedule and location for my kid's sports. Sometimes, this schedule requires me to be on the field very early and under caffeniated for such a wake-up call on the weekends, no less. So let me tell you that I was super excited to find out that Simones had opened up again! They are 5 minutes away from both fields that I go to. But, okay, let's get into what I tried on Sunday. I arrived, and the place was very welcoming from the esthetic to the warm employees who greeted me as I came in. There are plenty of tables to sit. They also have a boutique area where they sell some gifts. It was decor, candles, games for kids, personal items and other seasonal items, and Simones merch. The menu is very extensive, but I concentrated on what they were offering for the season. I immediately was drawn to Cafe Bombon. I asked Julia if she could explain the drink to me. She was very kind and enthusiastically shared that this was a delicious latte that was sweetened with condensed milk and had cinnamon added. She said it was well balanced and not overly sweet. I was already sold before just by the name, but her description sealed it for me. I also ordered the Avocado Toast with feta cheese and decided to add the hard-boiled egg to it. The egg is an additional cost. Overall, I have loved visiting Simones. The service and quality have been consistent every time. I have visited both locations. Keep them in mind next time you want a latte. I also love that they are open until 5:30 for that afternoon, Pick me up! Update: The Menu has now changed to their Winter Holiday drinks. They do still have their Pumpkin Creme Latte, Maple Creme Latte, and Toffee Nut Creme Latte from their fall menu. All very delicious options, I like to adjist the sweetness to less sweet and they are perfect. I am currently loving the Cinna Dulce Latte from the new menu.

The moment you enter, you are enveloped in an atmosphere reminiscent of a quaint coffee shop in a Hallmark movie. The shop's meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the menu to the display items and decorations. It is clear that the owners have poured love and effort into Simone. The service is truly exceptional, warranting a 5-star rating and more. The staff, including Jr., Janelle, and Nalani, were extremely helpful and courteous, offering expert recommendations and customizing drinks to meet individual preferences. Their friendly and approachable demeanor made the experience even more delightful. Please note that the shop can become crowded during peak hours, but there is a reasonable number of tables available, including outdoor seating. The menu boasts an extensive selection of drinks, including coffee, tea, fruit, and protein shakes, as well as a variety of food options. Parking may require some patience, but spots are available on the side of the building. Adding Simone's to my coffee spots for sure!

Terrible burnt coffee and served with grinds
    Vee P.

5 stars for the friendly service and beautiful space. I've been looking for new places to try and found this place on Yelp. Unfortunately their coffee completely missed the mark - it was not only extremely burnt tasting but it was served with grinds in it. I'm actually very shocked at how bad it is. Most places can at least make a passable cup of coffee but this was a whole new level of bad and undrinkable "coffee"

They offer a number of drinks & coffee, and pastries as well but I ordered their Bisco latte/cookie butter latte and this did not disappoint. I've never had anything like this before I loved how rich the Biscoff flavor was and they also add some kind of a special Hawaiian milk to it which I didn't mind but I also asked for this to be made in almond milk as well with no whipped cream. The moment I took a sip it was just Rich flavors bursting in my mouth. The only problem that I had with this place is that it's not closer to me, which is in the South Bay. I've visited both the Ventura and the Thousand Oaks locations, and my experience has been consistent. To me, this is a high-end Dunkin' Donuts and I don't even go there. The last time I had Dunkin' was about five years ago back home in Minnesota. I don't enjoy it because it tastes more like sugar with a splash of coffee rather than actual coffee and that's exactly how I feel about this place. I honestly don't understand why it's so popular. Most of the drinks taste extremely sweet. If you're looking for a sugary treat, a cheat-day drink, or something for your birthday, then this might be your spot. But if you genuinely enjoy coffee and want something balanced and bold, this probably isn't it. The only drinks I would personally order again are the cold brew or the Maui Mocha and even then, they're still on the sweeter side. One practical note: the Ventura location often has lines out the door. I'd recommend ordering online and picking up if you decide to try it. Overall, I'd say go try it for yourself but manage your expectations if you're a true coffee lover.

Had a Hot chocolate at the Camarillo location, and they even had a little latte art in the milk foam. A beautiful space to enjoy, but pricey overall. Service is usually fine, not overly friendly but that is also due to being so busy that they need to move the lines quickly and efficiently. Walking in, I loved the vibe--super cozy couches where you can sit while waiting, plus tables if you want to dine in. They also had beautiful paintings displayed (I believe for sale), which made the space feel really unique and fun to look around. I started with my usual: a sugar-free vanilla oat latte. Unfortunately, it was pretty bland and lacked flavor, so I had to go back and get a side of cold foam to make it better. BUT their açaí smoothie?? SO good. Super fresh, not overly sweet--honestly perfect. I'd definitely come back just for the smoothies over the coffee. For food:* The #2 avocado toast was AMAZING. The spicy honey drizzle with fresh bacon took it to another level. The Seward sandwich was just okay--very plain (egg, ham, tomato, onion), nothing special. The breakfast burrito though... sooo good. Paired with their serrano sauce, it hit every time. I'd 100% order that again. Service-wise, they only had one girl working the front--taking orders and making drinks--and she handled it so well. Super sweet and did an amazing job. Overall, not a bad experience at all--but I'd come back for the food and smoothies, not the coffee.
