I called prior to my appointment to receive a cash pay quote for a MRI. I was clearly quoted $255. But in person I was relayed payment due was $265. Upon my arrival, it appeared clean in this medical establishment. It was not busy at the time of my arrival. There was only one other patient being helped with two front desk receptionists. It started off with no one greeted and it felt very unwelcoming here at the front lobby and check-in. The person that assisted me at the front office was Sophia. Sophia was clearly unhappy and immediately started off with 'do you have an appointment'? She avoided eye contact throughout my encounter with her. She made a call internally but didn't say, can you hold on for a moment, I'm going to make a call. I opted to pay for my services with cash payment and she gave me my change without counting it when she provided it and gave me a lot of dollar bills. When I asked if she had bigger bills for change she said no. I informed that's a lot of bills, I can pay with my card instead. She seemed agitated by this. My experience with the MRI Tech was pleasant and professional. Unfortunately I don't recall her name. My overall experience was negative. I didn't feel welcomed upon arrival and or upon my exit. It was not busy and no patient at the receptionist area when I was walking through to leave. There was no exit greeting of thank you for coming in, have a good day. It was a very COLD vibe from the front office. Management please help and encourage your staff on customer service skills. Patients are there for a reason and could be in a situation of not feeling well or a poor outlook. The genuine compassion and empathy from medical staff may help patients through the process. I did observe other patients that arrived while I was waiting to be called in for my appointment, also not being greeted or assisted with a friendly demeanor. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend SimonMed Imaging. read more

Then I go up to the front to ask what's going on abs she says they are behind and their is still another prurient in front of me!! I've scheduled an MRI at this location and was there 5 mins prior to the appointment( keep in mind that I've filled every form online )! 40 mins past my appointment time I've asked if it's gonna take longer and they said we'll msg the tech. He said 20 more mins and tech will get you. Waited another 40 and still waiting. I think they can care more about others time. They over charged my debt card $120 on June 10. The girl at the counter said "oh no it happened again" she advised me this happened to another patient and it will refund my bank account in 24 hours. I waited til June 15 to call and ask where my refund was. They advised will take 3-5 business days, not 24 hours. I waited til June 19. Still no refund. I called again and spoke with a manger where she said it already left Simonmed and I should have it by Monday. Well, I called today. A representative advised the money was never sent back to me and I will have to wait another 2 weeks for my refund (07/07)- almost a month for a refund. I will be telling my doctors office to no longer refer to this imaging center. read more

It's odd. I've had the exact same experience at two different locations. Both times, I've had an appointment. Both times, they were running considerably behind and I waited an hour past my appointment time. And both times, the techs were extremely personable and apologetic about the wait time. I get that emergencies happen (which apparently is why they were running so late). But I have things to do too and making me wait an hour past my appointment time makes me an unhappy camper. The solution seems easy. Call the people with appointments. Let me know you're running late and by how much. Give me the option to get other things done OR at the very least, prepare for a long wait. It's been over 4 months since I had gotten a response about my investigation into my refund. They haven't been very communicative through out the whole process. I've been told the investigation has been started multiple times and to wait 45 business days. I was told this in February, March, and April. The scan was fine but getting any help with their billing team is awful and has totally ruined the experience. Now I just got put on a mute hold by associate when calling in to find out the resolution. read more

I was racially profiled. My ethnicity is half caucasian and half Latino, and while I was getting an X-Ray done on my right hand. I had asked the woman if I could do a peace sign to see my skeletal structure in that form/position. I found it to be a harmless, witty joke made. She replied with saying "no gang signs, none of that in here is allowed." She replied with no expression to indicate if it was a joke. Even if it was, still pretty grim to say to someone who is of the minority. She of course, is full Caucasian. I asked her why she thought a peace sign is a gang sign? She didn't reply and said I could leave now. How ignorant and uniformed you must be to think a peace sign being held by someone with darker skin means danger. She seemed to me not merely an intelligent woman, but that she also sees in black and white. This woman shouldn't be allowed to work at the Deer-valley location if she is to continue to make Racial remarks. read more

I told her no, I am not sticking those in my ears, that this us Covid? Dont you understand. She huffed off, threw them in the garbage, had a complete additude. Then after 15 minutes into an MRI, she told me the equipment isn't working. Really? Then she try again, after 10 minutes, replies again, equipment not working. Liar liar! It was working fine. SimonMed is a disappointment each and every time I'm required to get any imaging done by my doctor and today's visit was NO DIFFERENT! I'm the care taker for my 76 year old mother, her doctor requested a mammogram and sent over the request. Already expected when I called, they didn't received it so a few phone calls to get it resent etc. Scheduled her appointment THREE TIMES to be cancelled by SimonMed the day before because THEY demanded an ultra sound. Had to call the doctor's office to get the order etc and back and forth to get it scheduled a FOURTH time. I'm literally in the office after sitting here 45 minutes AFTER her appointment after speaking to the front desk to understand how far behind they are when there's been only a small handful of people in the waiting room to be told. They are waiting for the RADIOLOGIST to confirm if she needs an ultra sound... WTF???!!!!!!! As we continue to wait and see staff taking lunch, in comes staff with drink and bag in hand rushing to the back... a few minutes later the door opens and the same lady that just walked in rushing calls my mother back. So our time is not respected? My time is not valuable? None of this "checking with the Radiologist" discussion could have happened BEGORE our visit? Poor management, poor quality of staff and poor experience EACH and EVERY TIME. read more

I walked in, give the young lady at the desk my information. She told me that it was a $900 co-pay with my insurance. I asked her how much it would be to pay out-of-pocket. She told me $300. After she checked with my insurance company she confirmed that it was a $900 co-pay with my insurance. I Then told her to just run it through my insurance And that they will bill me, she said no it doesn't work like that. You have to pay the $900 or the $300. I spoke to my insurance company after the appointment. They told me to get a refund for my $300 and to have them run it through the insurance first. I'm not sure what they are teaching their employees but it does not seem on the up and up. Appointment was at 1pm. I have been sitting here for 1hr waiting for an MRI. Why wasn't my appointment at 2? Front desk receptionist, ELIZABETH, was rude and short with me. She's literally 'the face of the company' at Deer Valley since she's the first representative you come in contact with. Not a good first impression. She asked me a question and while I was still answering her, she couldn't be bothered to listen to what I was saying and asked me her second question while I was still trying to finish my answer to her first question. I took 12 minutes in my vehicle to complete their new process of check in online - taking photo's of driver's license, the order, my insurance card and reviewing prior information I'd entered before going into the facility. Didn't know if this was a Covid related check-in procedure or what. The company seems to be going high tech to try & make it easier to check in - but easier for who??? Them, that's who. I had no problem with checking in online, but what about people who are not tech savvy or don't have a smart phone? Oh wait, they won't have a problem because even AFTER spending my time & effort providing them with all my information digitally, when I got to the counter and dealt with ELIZABETH (you know, the RUDE one, who I'm sure thinks she's just being efficient instead of rude), has to have my order, I.D. and insurance card. After explaining that I just completed all of the info digitally online, she said "Oh, we don't get that information right away, I still need your stuff" and still needed me to provide the documents. What? Glad I wasted my time on that... ELIZABETH was so rude & short with me that I asked her for her supervisors information. She wrote down her name & phone number, along with 'ELIZABETH' on a business card and said "Here." I thanked her for it and sat down and waited for my appointment. I did get in quickly and had my 2 tests completed by very nice people. That was a nice surprise after dealing with ELIZABETH! I've tried to contact ELIZABETH'S supposed supervisor, SARAH CALLAHAN, with no response of course. The switchboard operator, who was very nice, tried to get ahold of her several different ways, taking about 10 minutes of her time, but to no avail. She could not even leave her a voice mail for me because she stated it just kept ringing & ringing - apparently she has not set up her voice mail. Great supervisor! I was provided with SARAH'S email and have sent 2 emails with NO RESPONSE. What a surprise. From some of the other reviews of SimonMed Deer Valley it seems I may never hear from SARAH. She's probably ELIZABETH'S best friend (or something??) or tired of fielding complaints about her. Regardless, SimonMed will no longer be receiving my business - or my families. I went to this SimonMed for my annual mammogram screening and couldn't have been happier with my experience. The front staff were very friendly and efficient, I had an appointment which I made online and had already scanned everything in, so I was able to be seen early. The technician who did my test was amazing, very considerate and talked to me throughout the entire test to keep me comfortable. Would recommend this location for mammo screenings. read more

Don't get your X-rays done with THOMAS. He is super rude, impatient, and has no respect for the elderly. I took my grandmother to get her knee X-ray and he wanted her to stand on a stool and my grandmother couldn't do it due to her knee problems and he was being super rude about it. He doesn't know how to do his job right or just doesn't like his job at all. He yelled at us and told us to leave and to go somewhere else if we didn't want to do the X-ray the way he was telling us to. Don't recommend getting X-rays done here read more

How exactly do I See Tomorrow Today when you take X-Rays and don't read them for 3 to 5 days? This according to your representative I'm on hold with now to see if your financial services department , can do something to get mine read so I can see a hand surgeon Monday morning. 3 to 5 days for a report is not "readily available". I can have film or digital pictures made and shipped to my home faster than you can tell me how badly busted my bone is. Seems a bit misleading and medically wrong to leave someone in pain for your 3 to 5 days read time. It's interesting too that on the day of my X-ray your CD maker that the images could have been burned onto was broken, but I was given the offer to drive with a broken wrist to other valley locations who might have a working CD burner to get them. That's some serious, "we don't care about you service" right there. I've been on hold 30 minutes, someone from Financial Services f-i-n-a-l-l-y comes on and says, how can I help you? I explain I need my images and the report for an appointment with a surgeon and that the last rep. said Financial Services can help expedite. She tells me no they can't help, I need to call the location I went to, I explained that's who transferred me. What sort of disorganized operation is being run there!!! Do better, especially when you are dealing with peoples health. I did get an honest answer at the end, your Deer Valley site missed the Dr's note that his order was for a expedited reading aka STAT. Made an appointment on line and called to confirm everything was set. Drive 2 hours to get to the appt and when I get there the front desk girl says I have no appt. I showed her the confirmation and she proceeds to tell me it's my fault for scheduling online and they are already behind and can't take me. I told her she was rude and it's not my fault for scheduling online. I then said to the other girl that they need to escalate that there is an issue with online scheduling and their call center. And she proceeded to say that SimonMed doesn't give a f**k. Awesome customer service. I was persistent and they did call another location to get me in, next location says they can get me in right away. At that point, I went and sat outside on a bench, this gentleman walks up to me and said the same exact thing happened to him.... Went to the next location where they can get me in right away and I get there and they tell me it's a 45 minute wait.... Fun stuff! read more

The X-ray tech who X-rayed my grandfather, who is VISIBLY weak and ill and cannot stand straight, was extremely rude and impatient. He didn't even let me explain my grandfather's condition, forced the guy to stand by himself with no support while trying to force ME out of the room. He only stopped when my grandfather was literally screaming for my help and reluctantly let me back in and didn't even try to hide his grumpiness when asking me if my grandfather needed me to be there to help him. I am a medical provider myself and run my own clinic. If this tech works at my clinic and treats my patients this way I would fire him on the spot. It is just unacceptable. read more

What a mistake to have gone here. Please do yourself a favor and stay away. Normally I go to DVR for xrays or ultrasounds stuff, but I had a car accident and my chiro said Simon Med will accept a lien for payment but DVR wouldn't. So I just got hurt 3 days ago from the accident and I come here to get xrays. At the end of getting my xrays, I was lying on the table with the big machine above me. The guy comes in and says ok, all done, you can relax and get up. I was on my side so I started turning over and sitting up. The idiot starts pulling the machine above me right at the same time so I got hit in the head with the xray machine! I immediately put my hand up as a reflex and my finger got cut on a piece of metal on the machine and my nail was broken. I actually drew blood from this. Now I have 2 head traumas in a matter of 3 days. I had just gotten an adjustment a few hours earlier at my chiro and now because of the force of the hit, I started to immediately get a headache and I could feel my neck was out again. The worst part of all this experience was the guy didn't even seem to care that he hit me or even apologize. Not once did he ever say sorry even after I repeatedly expressed upset for a good 10 minutes. When I went to leave I asked for a manager. As I was speaking to her, Mr. Wonderful came up and just stood there looking at me. I told him I was letting someone know of my incident since I felt he didn't care. He just sort of shrugged and stood there, then had the audacity at the end to tell me to have a nice day. I told the manager to have someone in corporate call me next week (today is Friday). This loser needs to be fired ASAP. You don't get to be in healthCARE and treat people like this. The only decent person was the manager who did apologize to me for the experience. Still I will never come back to Simon Med if this is the type of people they employ. I will be seeking redress for my injury and suffering. P.S. The tech was a male and at one point he went to "move" me to the position he wanted but he ended up using his hand and forearm to pull my chest back. I'm naked of course wearing a smock but his hand basically cupped my breast. This guy is a real piece of work. I wish I had gotten his name. read more

This has nothing to do with Covid, as they had chairs properly spaced and hand sanitizer available. Everyone wore masks as well. However the tech 'Thomas' at this location needs to be evaluated for his customer service. His attitude is one of pure disgust and impatience. Human Resources needs to check his demeanor. No STARS should be an option here. This place is a rip off and they take forever to get you checked in. I went previously and the experience was horrible, decided to give them ONE more try - NEVER AGAIN!!! I arrived at 0845, not busy maybe 5 other people. I completed the paperwork immediately and returned it to the receptionist. Waited a total of over 30 minutes for them to get me checked in. Then they tell me I need to pay $39 up front for a X-ray. I told her, I have NEVER paid co-pay or upfront for a X-ray. She said she would contact their billing dept. I spent 45 minutes waiting for nothing. I got up an walked out after waiting for a total of 45 minutes. I normally go to SMIL (Scottsdale Medical Imaging Lab) in Scottsdale or the Desert Ridge location. I NEVER wait more than 10 minutes before I'm in the changing room for my X-ray. I can have an X-ray done at SMIL and be on my way in less than 20 minutes, that includes check-in and receiving a copy of the CD if needed. At SimonMed, I can't even get checked in within 45 minutes. This is the worst location ever! I will never go to another SIMONMED facility. I would rather drive 20 minutes to SMIL in Scottsdale than visit this location which is less than 10 minutes from my home. I did call my provider and I was correct, I do not pay for an X-ray upfront, co-pay or otherwise. If you are thinking about visiting this location, I DO NOT recommend it. This is the 2nd time I've walked out because they take forever to check you in or to complete the imaging process. They have time to BS and drink their coffee, rather than ensuring a prompt check-in of their clients. They only had one person initially for check-in. When I visit SMIL, there are always at least four (4) receptionist for check-in. The parking is horrible at SimonMed location, yet their staff parks in the visitor parking spots making it worse to find parking. The employee parked next to me. I WILL NEVER GO TO ANOTHER SIMONMED FACILITY. I DON't RECOMMEND it. READ THE REVIEWS PEOPLE. THERE'S A REASON THEY HAVE TWO (2) STARS! THEY SHOULD HAVE ONE (1) STAR. THESE REVIEWS ARE REAL! My arthritis doctor wanted x-rays so I went into SimonMed on 27th Ave because it was close.The front desk told me there was a problem with my script and had to call the doctor. After quite awhile I told them I was leaving but call me when they had what they needed. When they called I missed the call so tried to call back at the number they left but after two attempts my calls went to two different locations an nobody knows anything about anything, it's impossible to get back (phone-wise) to where I walked in so I went back down there. They then told me they needed $180 for my ins. deductable but I told them I go to CTCA for cancer and told them that was satisfied long ago. They then wanted my credit card number in case there was balance and I told them no because I new they would charge it. I saw them do this to a lady that walked in before me for $164 and her mouth dropped open but she paid it. Told them I was leaving and call me when they get their ducks in a row but I don't expect a call back. Came home and called my insurance company and they said my deductible was satisfied long ago. The Biltmore office read an X-ray 6 weeks ago of my hand and said there was no break. My hand kept hurting so I went to a hand surgeon last week and he took X-rays. The X-ray showed my hand was broken. My surgeon asked me to get the original X-ray from Simon Med. My surgeon (and his receptionist) read the original X-ray and both saw the break. They don't know how Simon Med missed it. When I asked the Simon Med receptionist for my X-ray cd because they (Simon Med) made a mistake, she said she wasn't surprised. read more

When I called them about it, the woman was so rude to me and made it seem like it was MY fault that their biller coded it wrong. So my credit took a hit and they refused to accept responsibility and contact the credit companies on my behalf. Unacceptable! Horrible billing and customer service. WORST experience ever! Do not go to any Simon Med, save yourself the headache and pay more to go some where else. Tried three different offices, three different appointments only to prove a waste of time and now my increased tolerance of truly incompetent people. First appointment for MRI set at 7pm, told upon arrive they were running behind. Waited until 8:20 pm to be told the machine was down and it would take 30-40 minutes to try and get it back up. Person rescheduled us for another appointment for 5:30pm, received a call day of appointment at 10 am person indicated they had a cancellation for a 3pm appointment and wanted to know if we could switch, I explained no that we had to take off work already. At 5 pm a representative called and stated that the tech noticed the MRI was with and w/o contrast and they did not have the correct staff to do this procedure. Rescheduled again. Next appointment set for 3:30pm at 4:25pm my husband was brought back to speak with the tech and be questioned on a saline implant. Tech stated that he needed to have the doctor call and give specifics, or have an implant card. Obviously, first day for this person, but a testicle saline implants do not warrant an implant card. Yet again, another appointment had to be made. Fourth appointment was successful due to omitting information. In the meantime called the so called Compliance Number to make a complaint. Called 602-688-6116, which the rep from the location of the third appointment gave me. I called this number three days in a row and left messages each day with out response. It may not be a big deal if the reason for your appointment is not critical, however a brain MRI to determine if a tumor is back seems rather critical and regardless of the reason, they should be able to do their jobs effectively. Once again, proving that is too high of an expectation. Beware, get your bag of patience on for the lack of training, common sense and utter incompetence! read more
