I liked their foams but just wasnt a fan of the flavors personally. Overall a good spot if youre in the area!

My husband and I both ordered the cookie butter, smore's iced latte and it was absolutely delicious! Very well made and beautiful presentation. Staff was very kind and helpful. Parking was simple with a parking lot directly next to the entrance. Along with coffee, they also do offer sweet and savory food options. Now, this is me just nitpicking but it's unfortunate that it's not in the prettiest part of Houston but it's great that they're bringing a pop of color, culture and life to this area! Overall, definitely worth a try and will definitely be back to try their coffee buckets!

Vibe/Decor - 4.5* The storefront is cool, nice entryway and gives a chill vibe. Stepping in it's a bit boutique and free space for studying and chilling, with some music in the background. They have a panty near the door for those in need who want water and snacks, which is a great cause, but sadly I watched it be abused in the short time I was here. The intent is, come in, take what you need, within reason, don't clear it out essentially. Well, I watched a lady load up her bag with snacks and water. It wasn't what I'd subjectively view as "fair." They have some TVs around that at this visit had the World Cup on and there was a nice setup for buying some jerseys if you wanted. Overall, I enjoyed the setup and witnessed plenty of people reading or studying. Food / Drink - 2* They offer some bites and coffee drinks, which is obviously what many are likely visiting for. I ordered an Iced Black Sesame Latte, which also had a black sesame cold foam. The disappointing part, it was nothing to write home about. Maybe I'm a harsh critic here since I make my own Black Sesame simple syrup at home. That said, I did have the person with me try it who has tried my sesame lattes tell me they thought mine were better. I thought, well, maybe I'll get something else if I come back. Service - 2* I can only speak to my personal experience, but when I walked in, multiple people stared at me, as if I was an alien or unwelcome here, it was odd and uncomfortable. I approached the counter to order, asking a couple of questions, which were answered, albeit probably not as anyone would define as "warmly." Now, once ordered, it took longer than one would expect given how few orders were ahead of mine. I was in no rush, but I did witness the gentleman in front of me who was wearing a local business' shirt, seem to pace and anxiously wait. Cost - 1* Anyone who reads my reviews knows I preface this with, always subjective, but it's been awhile since I walked into a place and nearly walked out on pricing alone. That said, I wanted to see if the coffee was worth it at $9+ bucks. Sadly, it is not, particularly when paired with the pace of service. Overall - 2* This is one that I think has a lot of potential, but it just misses on fundamental marks for a coffee shop. At the end of the day, it's a cool vibe and I could see plenty of people wanting to relax here, but in a city, and even area, that has plenty of options, this one is worth skipping. Average coffee, subpar service, and poor pricing. I will not be returning, but hey, I'm only one review and opinion so if you're in the area, maybe your experience will be different.

THIS IS THE BEST CORTADO I'VE EVER HAD…read more Day 6 has been on my list for quite some. Upon arrival, I was met with excellent music and a warm greeting. Once I reached the counter, the gentleman helped me with selecting a coffee and even answered a few clarifying questions I had about ingredients. I got 2 cortados (I drank the first one so fast that I needed another one), a vanilla latte (sweet but balanced), and two croissants (almond and chocolate). My friends got a cheesecake latte (cupcake dominant and didn't have enough cookie butter flavoring), a white mocha hot chocolate (pretty good), and a blueberry muffin (amazingly soft, flavorful, and balanced). All together, I'll be coming back much more often!!!

I also tried one of their muffins, and it was absolutely delicious. Another 5/5! The only thing that disappointed me was the coffee. I asked the barista for a recommendation and specifically mentioned that I wanted a coffee that wasn't too sweet. She recommended a drink, and I trusted her suggestion. Unfortunately, when I tried it, it was much sweeter than I was expecting. I understand recommendations are subjective, so I don't blame anyone,it just wasn't what I was looking for. Because of that, I'd give the coffee 1/5. It simply wasn't to my taste. Overall, the great service and delicious muffin were definite highlights, but the coffee experience brought my overall rating down to 3/5.

Today we finally stopped by the new Houston Ave location and went through the drive-thru. Safe to say it lived up to the hype! We ordered the Mazapán cold brew, the Banana Latte, and two breakfast tacos. The drinks were AMAZING--both flavorful without being overly sweet, and the Mazapán cold brew especially stood out. The breakfast tacos were also really good and the perfect quick bite with coffee. Everything came out quickly and the drive-thru experience was smooth. We'll definitely be back on weekends or days off. My only wish is that they opened earlier since I pass by on my way to work and they open at 8 AM. Overall, such a great first visit. Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area!

Finally made it to Carino Cafe on Hogan St. and tried their coffee flight!…read more With the flights you get to choose four out of five coffee or matcha options there's just no mixing. For my flight I picked: The Horchata Latte which was my favorite of the flight! It has a great horchata flavor, light cinnamon, creamy and all without being overly sweet. The Banana Latte was my second favorite in terms of flavor. I wasn't a big fan of the chunky texture from the smashed banana (not something I enjoy in coffee in general), but the banana flavor itself wasn't overpowering, which I really liked. The Mazapan Cold Brew was my third favorite. It's a true cold brew topped with a delicious cold foam. Last but not least the Cafe de Olla Cold Brew was a solid and strong cold brew with a creamy finish. While there I ordered the Macadamia Nut Latte just to try which tasted exactly as expected smooth and nutty, but just ok. I also ordered my absolute favorite coffee at Carino Cafe which is the Cortadillo Latte. It was so good the last time that I had to get a large this time! This Carino Coffee Cafe location offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to relax, study, and socialize. They serve coffee until 4pm then transition into Rabbit's Got the Gun a bar that's open until 2am, which is honestly like experiencing two spots in one. The service was excellent, the drinks were creative and well made (all iced with almond milk). I'd definitely recommend checking this coffee shop out if you're in the area!
