This is my second trip to Simons and both times I have been very impressed. For lunch I ordered the Enchiladas special item which was delicious. It had a pleasant mixture of flavors on each level and the sauce on top was delicious. I wish they would add more of the sauce because the bottom is quite dense without it. I also had the green and tonic shake and a chocolate chip peanut butter cookie. Both of which were so tasty. The cookie is made for sharing, so don't be surprised if need a box to go. read more

This is a MUST for anyone in Siesta Key. I can't say anything bad about it, besides it being so far from home for me. :) The owners are a friendly British couple with an incredibly courteous serving staff. One of the owners greeted us immediately upon arriving and seated us. While there is plenty of seating, this place was packed. It appears as if they've been there for a long time and have also taken up 3 storefronts in the plaza, and are located right next to a large bakery, which may be where they get their breads from? (I may need to be fact-checked on this as I'm making a few assumptions...lol). I ordered the green tea with lemon and my boyfriend had the caramel latte with a bit of cocoa powder on top. Both were so delicious! Our server was Jodi, who was incredibly sweet and courteous. Loved her! For lunch I had a very difficult decision (which is always a good sign of a well thought-out menu in my opinion). I narrowed it down to the London panini and Roast Beef panini which happened to be Jodi's favorites. I ended up going with the London which BLEW MY MIND. Holy panini. I've never had a roast beef sandwich or a sandwich with horseradish sauce...as I honestly don't care for either. But I'm always curious when an item is listed first on the menu. ;-) For dessert, we were quickly swooned into ordering the chocolate peanut butter cookie. If I were to truly describe how amazing this was, there would be too much profanity in this review. I ordered the Vegan Bollywood, which is a beet burger on lavish, with cashew cheese and Indian pickle dressing, which I asked for on the side. Happily, it was a fabulous dressing with no resemblance to pickles that I thought I was getting. It came with a wonderful black bean soup. All of it was scrumptious, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The service was great as well. I chose to sit outside even though it was hot out and was kept comfortable by the many fans. We went last night for the first time, as our favorite local musical trio, Hot Club SRQ, was performing there. We live about 2 hours away but it was worth the drive. We LOVED the food and service. They have a menu of tapas. We got 3 different tapas and split them. Just absolutely delicious and so creative. So happy that they have some plant based tapas since I am vegan. Service is abysmal!! Waited over 45 minutes for our food. One thing after another was wrong. Waited forever to pay. Food is very good. Surprisingly good for how very terrible the service is here. I was visiting Sarasota in the days leading up to Irma and this was my last breakfast stop before I had to head out. I really enjoy this healthy and vegetarian friendly restaurant with a cozy laid back atmosphere. They have a variety of options and I had the fresh juice and a turmeric ginger shot. I love the fresh veggies scrambled with potatoes that I had, and my parents got bacon and eggs (a trusted favorite) and my friend had the gluten free muffin. They have so many good drinks like!Kombucha and a variety of teas and fresh juices and smoothies. It's a great place to stop and have some good fresh health food. Covid Review! I have always loved Simon' for an amazing lunch! However on a recent trip I only felt safe to eat outside. The tables inside were very close together and I didn't see anyone with a mask on except employees. The Krishna sandwich was excellent, but they changed the type of bread it is served on to a thin pita like wrap. Service was great. This is straight-up my favorite brunch place in Sarasota. I love that they always have an array of delicious, house-made soups to pair with sandwiches. Breakfast items are inventive and tasty. Also, they have probably the best, most-expansive vegetarian/vegan menu in town. The staff are uniformly attentive and friendly, especially Jody at the bar. Emily and I came to Simon's in search of a quick cup of good coffee (for me) and breakfast (for her) and we definitely found that and more. In a good way! This place scanned like a diner when we walked in and sat down but we quickly started noticing how strange the menu was. There is a raw vegan section, there are British elements bangers n mash), there are an inordinate amount of soups, and there were combinations of things that just shouldn't work but totally do somehow. We had a really good OJ, berry, banana and PB smoothie l, plus a beet loaf & sauerkraut panini and a delicious sweet and watery (?!) carrot ginger soup. Everything was delicious and the coffee was even strong, which isn't something I'd expect from a diner. This friendly spot ended up really doing the trick. Got the chance to meet Simon and was taken care of the beautiful and well informed staff. Even though, they were busy, Simon still came over to our table to have a chat with us. Drinks 5/5. We ordered a shot of wheatgrass (yummy), hot green tea, and Mount Fuji Matcha Green Tea with Lemon zest. Meal 5/5. We came in right after breakfast ended and decided to try their panini and soup. We ordered the $9.95 deal that includes 1/2 a panini with choice of soup. My mother had the London panini (roast beef with horseradish and cheese) with greens (spinach, kale, parsley) soup. I had the Santa Fe (Turkey & bacon with cheese) with red lentil soup. If I could, I would come here every morning and try everything on their menu (that includes dessert!) Tip #1 (for first timers): As soon as you walk in, make sure to either sign yourself in or place your name with the host/hostess. Tip #2: Expect rudeness from other customers (most likely because they are hungry and waiting too). But after you are seated and eat your food, you will forget about all that rudeness. If you are in a hurry, there is a take out line. Tip #3: Bar seating is almost always available while other seating areas require a wait time. Tip 4#: Outdoor seating available. Did not see any pets or smoking signs though. Tip 5#: DO NOT LEAVE until you have tried their dessert (especially the strawberry cheesecake granola)! Tip 6#: They have vegan items! This place popped up for breakfast selections in my Yelp Sarasota beach area, and we took our family here to enjoy a healthy breakfast. If you're on vacation mode, you know how it goes...any dieting or regular eating is out the door. So it was a nice change to find a place that offered healthy selections. The decor is very bright and vivid, they have cute and funky chairs with the coffee logo. On a Friday morning around 10am, the place is pretty mellow. The regulars get their usual hi and greeting...it's nice to see establishments welcome their customers. Everyone got a round of coffees to start our meals. My father in law who loves a hearty breakfast was a little disappointed from the "healthy" breakfast selections...he doesn't believe in dieting. There's always one in the group!! However, the rest of us found great items to order. I got the savory breakfast crepe, my husband ordered the Paris breakfast sandwich with croissant, and it had an egg, ham, sliced apples and brie cheese. My crepe had a light dill cream sauce that was garnished on my crepe. Light and balanced would be the best way to describe my meal, and the hubby enjoyed his sandwich. The croissant was a little bit tinier in size than I thought, but a good portion for breakfast. We also ordered the pomegrante-cranberries bran muffins which were my favorite thing...not too sweet and something I see myself making at home as well. Great way to sneak in fiber and not too sweet either. Overall, we had a good breakfast at Simon's Coffee House. If you're looking for something "healthy" then this is the spot. My family had lunch here for the first and last time last Saturday. My son ordered a Sprite which they do not have (that's ok!) and the server offered a yummy lemonade with apple juice substitute and my son agreed. I feel that if you're going to offer a child a $7 specialty drink, you should ask/mention the price that to the parents. Our server (Naomi) was apparently also working the juice and coffee bar because that is where she spent all of her time. We waited an extended amount of time for our drinks, then again for our food to arrive. We made the mistake of ordering and waiting for 10+ minutes for a gluten free brownie after lunch and then waited a long time just to receive the bill. We watched all of the tables around us receive prompt service, so I think our experience was the exception. Now, for the food; we came to Simon's because the availability of gluten-free options for me. I have to eat gluten free for medical reasons. I know that cross contamination is real and that it's likely going to happen which will cause a little GI upset for me. However, I definitely was served gluten at Simon's from the violent illness that followed after eating here!! I had the chicken salad on gluten free bread with creamy cauliflower soup. I even asked to have the server double check the soup and was ensured it was gluten free before ordering it. Then my family shared the gluten free brownie. All of the food was tasty which makes it even more disappointing that I got so sick and will not eat here again. read more

WOW!!! THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCED MAYBE EVER! My party and I waited for over 25 just to order our food today. Staff was very slow and people that came in after us were ordering and getting their food. I had no choice but to flag down the nearest waitress. I said excuse me loud enough to make sure she heard me. She turned, blankly stared at me for several seconds and then rudely asked if she could put down her dishes first. This waitress had on glasses and several arm tattoos. I just wanted my food after waiting for an hour! What a shame because food was good.
