Both times I've gone, they've been up front about the cost and time it will take. They've also been patient with my questions, so I haven't felt self conscious about my beginner knowledge on cars. There's something else wrong that I need to go back to another place to get fixed under warranty, but I knew I'd have a hard time explaining it myself. I got a jump from AAA in single-digit temps, and was worried a fuse/wire was draining. He gave me good advice to go get the battery checked at AutoZone where I'd bought, since it was still under warranty and they can check the Cold-firing-Charge and replace it. He literally stopped what he was doing to give me this help, free of charge, and talk through all options. I appreciate that he's honest, explanative and never up-sells. He is also fantastic to the community, he has hosted his corner lot for town events, including bands playing outside for porch fest. The Kia dealers I contacted wouldn't even give me an estimate on the potential issues. I took the car to Fred's on Mystic Ave, where I get my inspection stickers, and they diagnosed the problem, ordered the necessary part, and did the complicated replacement of the clock-spring device promptly and below the original estimate. Finally-an honest and competent mechanic. Fred was friendly, knowledgeable, and sensitive to the cost of the repair.
