We have been coming here for years. The matzoh ball soup, the Rueben and the pastrami sandwiches are delicious. I also like their latkas (potato pancake). Service is good. Dessert is always tempting, but we are usually too full. Though once in awhile we get either a cream puff or a slice of cheesecake to take home. Restaurant is always clean and neat too. read more

I have been coming to Simon's my whole life. I can remember eating there with my grandparents and begging for an eclair at the end of every meal! So it seemed fitting that we visited Simons for lunch straight off the airplane from Atlanta today. The decor has changed a bit, but the vibe is the same, and most importantly so is the food! We had a feast! We had matzo ball soup, french onion soup, the Cuban sandwich (a special), and the New Yorker. Everything was delish. I loved the Cuban! Service was good. Stopped by to order take-out for a friend who had broken her ankle. She'll be stuck at home for the next 6 weeks and was pretty bummed. Figured a meal from Simon's would cheer her up! She and her husband were absolutely wowed by the meal! Reubens piled high with tender meat, crisp onion rings, and homemade chicken noodle soup. For dessert, I took carrot cake and a piece of their famous triple chocolate cake. Owner Michael Simon made sure the order was perfect. They declared it was the best deli take-out meal they'd ever had. When her ankle has healed, I'll her back for another great meal. Definitely recommend! read more

We happened upon this place when out searching one evening for a good dinner spot, and were very happy to find this family restaurant. It was a lot bigger than I expected, very clean and well maintained. Our service was phenomenal. We loved our waitress, and found ourselves talking with her before leaving for quite a bit. Food wise, everything was good, and I would have no issue recommending anyone to eat here. While some of the things we had were not "the absolute best" we've ever had, a lot of the stuff was great. For example, I got the Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner. The portion was great, and the corned beef was excellent. However, the rest of the dish was very plain. The cabbage, potatoes, and carrots seemed to be just boiled in water and put on the plate. The french onion soup was nothing special, but was good. My teens each had one of the fried chicken sandwiches, and they said those were some of the best they've ever had. My youngest opted for the spaghetti and meatball, and said it was very good. They had a pretty nice menu of things that other places where we're from don't have, so I look forward to coming here again. We all agreed it would be added on to the list of places we frequent when we're in town. read more

Excellent to go service. Everything is always in the bag. The front staff is so nice and polite. I live out of state now and every time I'm back I make sure to get the Matzo Ball soup and 1/2 Rueben often! (which i think is better than Slymans on Rockside!!!) Many more years of success! read more

We had the sauerkraut balls for appetizer. I had the Cobb salad for my meal. My wife got chicken marsalla and I got a side of potato salad. The service was excellent. It's definitely a great Jewish deli. The deserts are the first thing you see when entering the restaurant. We have eaten there multiple times and all there food is so delicious. read more

Walked in for a quick lunch- nice big place & seated quickly. I ordered the Reuben which was good and my husband ordered the turkey club which was a good portion of food but okay. Went to lunch yesterday with a group of coworkers. 3 of us ordered the 7 oz Prime Rib. One of us asked for it to be medium-rare. A few minutes later the waitress came back and said, he cannot make it medium-rare. So, after we received our lunch, all 3 of us who ordered it were very disappointed. It was extremely tough, and hard to chew. None of us had ever had a prime rib like that, ever. None of us wanted to complain. I do not recommend thr 7 oz l, at all. Order something else. The service was excellent, great atmosphere, good prices, but all three of us were sorely disappointed in our lunch. read more

We stopped here for lunch. We tried the Philadelphia which is pastrami and coleslaw on rye. Delicious!! The pastrami is perfectly seasoned not salty like some are. I worked at Simon's Restaurant & Deli back in the 1980s and have to say it is one of the cleanest establishments I've ever been to. This is a great family restaurant. The dining area is relaxed and homey. The food is pretty good. Most traditional meals are tasty and well appointed. Some meals have been misses but given the reviews, that may just be whoever is in the kitchen. For example, had the corned beef dinner recently and there was not much corned beef--certainly not like the pictures or the reviews. Most of the soups are unimpressive so I always opt for the side salad. It is nice that most entree meals come with two sides--a complete meal! Still trying out the menu to find my favorites but always look forward to it. read more

A group of us went for the fish fry,I don't think anyone was satisfied with the food . Vegetables over cooked,hush puppies cold and so hard they could have been golf balls. Simon's is more dependable than great. Like family restaurant-style food slightly elevated by very good deli selections. Prices have creeped up but not to the crazy extent of most others. Was a little disappointed in my annual corned beef carryout for St Patty's Day. Price was $19 a pound (higher but not horrible) but in the past when I've asked for CB by the pound, it's cut & stacked right in front of me. This year I was handed two smallish wrapped CB packs. My suspicion was warranted when I got home, weighing it myself. They both measured 14 oz (weight included the paper wrap). Gypped! The CB itself was inconsistently sliced...some pieces overly thick, others shaved. It tasted good, but again, not great. Hoping to avoid the pre-wrapped stuff next year and get it fresh in the amount I requested/paid for. read more

Today was my second visit to Simon's. The first experience was "ok", the corned beef sandwich I had tasted great, but the amount of meat on the sandwich was much smaller than what is pictured online and on their menu. I just assumed that this was due to how large our group was and how busy the restaurant was. (We had a reservation, but we still had to wait for 45 minutes to be seated.) But that is not what I have an issue with. 9-15-25. Today I visited there with two friends for lunch. I ordered a salad to eat there, which was good and very fresh. But I also ordered "Chicken Marsala" to go. There was a "Chicken Marsala" listed as one of today's lunch specials, which was to include the chicken, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable for $12.99. That's what I thought I would be getting. When I got home and saw what they had provided, I was shocked. Yes, it was a small piece of Chicken Marsala, but it was served with gravy over pasta. Nothing else. I immediately called the restaurant to describe the discrepancy, and the man I spoke with told me that there were two different "Chicken Marsala's" available. One was on the lunch menu for chicken and pasta only for $12.99. The other was a daily special, which was for chicken and mashed potatoes with a vegetable for $12.99. He told me that what I got was from the lunch menu. No one asked which of the two I preferred before I placed the order. If they had, I would have chosen the "special" over the one on the lunch menu. What is wrong with this picture? Yes, their food is fairly good, but you have to be careful how you place your order. Ask for specifics (these things should be explained upfront.) Wife and I usually eat here 3 to 4 times through the year. Food has always been delicious and plentyful and the service top notch. Tonight was a bit dissapointing. Our waitress seemed a little new. When she arrived to our table she asked us what type of drinks with no issues. When she delivered the drinks I asked a ligitimate question. I asked her why the items listed as "specials" where priced exactly the same as what was on the menu. She advised that the item I asked about was a special because they have a lot of that meal. So its not really a special at all its just an every day meal but it was over purchased? The wife ordered the breaded Walleye (a special not listed on the menu) and I ordered the Veal Schnitzel. The menue stated it came with potatoe pancakes, and served with soup or salad. When the meal arrived there where 2 potatoe pacakes and one large Schnitzel plus green beans. I was never advised I would get green beans nor was I given any other choice of a vegetable. I also received sour cream for the potatoe cakes but not offered any butter for them or the beans. The Schnitzel was very bland and no Wow factor at all. After we finished our meals we were asked if we were ready for the check, I asked to see the dessert menu and I got a very bewildered look from the waitress. She left into the back kitchen area and arrived back at our table about 5 minutes later with a hand written dessert menu on a small 2" x 4" piece of paper. I'm guessing here, but I do belive she wrote that up very quickly since they did not have a dessert menu. We passed on the dessert. Total bill was over $50.00 and only ice tea and lemonade for drinks. Unfortunately, the wife and I decided we will be taking our appetite somewhere else in the future. read more

I dine in frequently with friends for dinner before seeing a play. The Matso ball soup is so very delicious and tasty. I order it frequently. The blackened chicken breast is out of this world delicious. The chicken quesadilla yummy. I have been very pleased every time I've dined at this restaurant. Yum! The food is really good! Wish we would have had room for dessert. When you walk into the restaurant, you walk right by the dessert case on your way to the table. If you want a place for a wonderful corned beef sandwich, this is it. The kraut balls are superb too! I ordered my sandwich on the potato latkas, and it was delicious. My spouse ate the corned beef and pastrami sandwich and really enjoyed it. The meat on both sandwiches was very tender. The staff was very attentive and nice. Great Deli, nice size menu with all the deli favorites. I got the Baked French Onion Soup along with Beef Tips and Noodles. The soup was special....
