Food was cold and not tasty. Pasta undercooked chicken dry and Philly wasnt the greatest no mushroom or peppers. The Philly only had a slice of dried up cheese salty and boring. Server never checked to make sure we were happy. Had to hunt an another server down bc our food was cold and the restaurant had only one other table that had already finished their meal and paid the bill. The best part of our meals was the fries and according to our server that was why we waited so long for undercooked and cold pasta. Taking into account how busy the restaurant was (only one other table who was done eating before we were sat) our Server never checked to see if we were satisfied and if everything was good. My 2 daughters and 4 granddaughters took me out for Mother's Day today. Let me say our server was great! We ordered our drinks, they came. We ordered our apps, and they came. We ordered our food, including 4 orders of rigatoni with butter for the little girls. The 3 adults got their food, but server said they hadn'tcooked the pasta yet for the girls. So we waited until that came to eat.(about 10 minutes). My almost 4 year old granddaughter took her first (and only) bite , and immediately spit it out. Then the other girls started to eat...they immediately said "this is terrible!" I'm not sure how one can ruin buttered pasta, but I took a bite, and YUCK. There was no butter, only oil..not olive oil. The pasta tasted like it sat after cooking, and they microwaved it. It was AWFUL. When the server was told about it, she graciously took it, and removed from our bill, and when we saw her telling her manager, he shrugged his shoulders and spread his hands like "oh well." I told him about it when we left. He said "im sorry your experience was bad." We will NOT be back. And I told him so. Visited Burntwood Tavern in Brecksville. I have been to other locations, but this one is rustic and very appealing. Great care was put into designing and finishing the interior. We visited around lunch time and it wasn't very busy. Our friendly waitress joked with us as we requested drinks. We requested the cauliflower appetizer, which was amazing, by the way. It might be worth the trip just for that. I requested a salad for lunch, which was pretty tasty. It had a little blue cheese in it, but not too much. We dined and chatted and the food was good. Upon entering, there is a definite odor, which I had noticed immediately and the couple we were with stated the same. Fortunately, we were seated further away so nothing was noticeable, however this is something which they should check into and correct as it does leave a first impression. We started off with two appetizers, Firecracker shrimp which were very good and Cauliflower Bites, a little bland. My husband and I each ordered the Classic Cheeseburger, a little disappointing, flavor wise, I requested extra onion, did not receive, and the fries were not very warm. I can get a more flavorful burger at a fast-food restaurant. The other couple both ordered the Fish and Chips, beer battered cod, (greasy) with fries (cold) and cole slaw, which appeared very dry. Neither finished their meals. Our waiter was on top of everything, very attentive even after our tab was paid, made it a point to check if anything else was needed. Went here for a work event. They have a nice area upstairs for private parties. We had a selected menu but everyone around me commented on how good the food was. My husband and I went for Saturday brunch. We walked in and I was immediately hit with a very odd, strong smell... mildew? pool house? It was everywhere. It dissipated while we were there but it was pretty off-putting. The decor and set up was very cool though. I loved the fireplace! We were the ONLY people on the dining side and service was extremely slow. We waited to order and then we waited for our food for over 30 minutes. Our waitress was incredibly nice though! I ordered the brunch burger. Instead of a sunny side up egg, I asked for it to be over-medium. I'm not a fan of runny whites, just a runny yolk. My husband tried a bite of it and really enjoyed it so I offered him half and he gave me one of his sliders. I finally bit into the burger and it just seemed so dry. It took a minute but I realized they cooked the egg completely through- no jammy yolk. I feel like it not being done correctly really changed the overall burger for the worse. I did mention it to our waitress when she came back to check and they did offer to fix it! (We declined though since my husband had slammed his half, so I didn't feel right about sending it back). Overall, not a great experience but it wasn't bad either. I have always really enjoyed Burntwood in the past. I've never been to this location before though and probably wouldn't choose it again over another. read more

I love the combination of toppings on this burger. This is my favorite burger in NE Ohio. Came for dinner on a weekend evening to try the new menu. To our surprise there were only a couple tables taken and lots of open spots. We both got the new chicken ala vodka and it was surprisingly good. Better than we were expecting, large crispy piece of seasoned chicken with plenty of al dente noodles and sauce. I go to school near Burntwood and occasionally stop in for a quick bite before class. Cory the bartender is awesome. Loved the salmon salad on the last menu. The new menu kind of sucks. I get the Salmon entree on the new menu and have it blackened topped with pea shoots . It's served with fingerling potatoes and chopped tomatoes. There are sometimes barely more than 5 diced tomatoes and pea shoots sometimes aren't served at all or are a variation of greens. I will say though the salmon is always cooked to perfection. Presentation is always great as well. This is a very old building so the bathrooms smell a bit. Cleanliness of the restaurant is good. Looking forward to them getting a new menu hopefully! read more

I've had take out many times and it's usually pretty consistent but my last take out will be my last time ever. I ordered 3 Corn beef sandwiches on St Patrick's Day for pick up. When I got home to eat all off the sandwiches had a ridiculous amount of mustard applied, the Marble bread was soggy and the corn beef was so tuff we couldn't even bite through the thick cuts of meat. I called to express my discontent and the manager said she would have the General Manager call me. I never received a call. Horrible customer service and will never go back. read more

We hosted our work holiday party at Burntwood this week in their upstairs private room. The space was huge and looked like it could hold about 70 people. We had a variety of appetizers include sLiders (chicken and beef), tater tots, margherita flatbread and lettuce wraps filled with a guacamole combination. The guacamole and chicken were a tad spicy. I don't do spice well so not my favorite, but that is my own person issue. The burgers were good and cooked medium. My favorite were the tater tots served with 3 different dipPing sauces. I wanted to actually ask if I could take a tour of the place but I was running out of time. My burger was cooked to perfection. The fries were exactly as I requested. My wife and I stopped in this evening and unfortunately everything was kind of a mess. By that I mean we arrived before 7pm on a Wednesday and there was nobody at the host stand. After almost 7 minutes of waiting the bar manager sat us in the main dining room. Our server took a little bit to greet us but brought us waters and we promptly ordered as we had to be somewhere close by at 8. My wife ordered the wedge salad and lobster bisque, while I ordered the wedge salad and burnt wood burger. Our server told me that the BWT smash was a special for only $10 so I switched to that. He then told me they couldn't do fries and the fryer was down (around a week ago it broke) so he would just use my salad as the side, which was fine. I also ordered a Paloma. We ordered around 7:10. It was a little wait but my drink came out and it was solid. 4/5 (the menu said it was a salted rim and mine had no salt) By 7:50 we had yet to receive our food and I hadn't seen our server. I saw the bar manager and asked him what was going on and he informed me that they only had one cook working. I told him that would have been good information to know before we ordered as we wouldn't have taken the risk needing to pick our son up from practice. Our server came and was going to check how long it was going to be and we didn't see him so I put some cash on the table for the drink and we left. The table next to us didn't disagree and said we will tell them. I get that things happen but your business is customer service and satisfaction. By your team not telling the customers that it could be a wait on food because you were short staffed is a serious issue. I've never had to walk out like that before and I did feel bad but I don't regret my decision. I hope you can get the staffing situation figured out, but I'm not sure I could go back based on our experience this evening. read more

Food and drinks were good but just a little bit overpriced i thought. The economy and times are tough right now and I understand that things will increase, but I didn't think the hamburger and fries were worth $30. I made a reservation for the hubby's birthday. The ambiance of the restaurant was cute, the food was good, the service was eh ok. The waitress was nice and it was hard to tell if the kitchen was slow or she was slow. We sat for about 8-10 minutes before anyone even came over. We ordered a bottle of Merlot, which was good. We decided on an appetizer, we got the sweet chili chicken which was good., but took forever to get. Meanwhile the waitress didn't come over to check on us, or to take our entree order. The appetizer came out (finally), we ordered our entrees, which were the Burntwood burger and the chicken Marsala. Food again took forever, the waitress finally brings out the dishes then proceeds to say, we are waiting on fries but I wanted to at least bring out this. Now, I was not upset that the fries were brought separate but really, you are waiting on fries for the burger.... The chicken Marsala my husband said was good but unique, it wasn't normal chicken Marsala, the burger was good, but wasn't anything special. I would have given a higher rating if the service was better, and the communication was better. I understand if the kitchen is swamped and things are taking longer than normal, but communicate that. Overall, we won't be back, we didn't hate it, it was ok, but nothing to write home about. read more

The food needs to catch up to the great atmosphere. I ate at Burntwood Tavern during happy hour on a Saturday. I picked this location for its rustic design, vaulted sealing, cabin in the woods like ambiance, and warm fireplace. I really felt like I spent the afternoon on a getaway in a cabin in the woods or at a ski-resort lodge. It was relaxing and calming, truly a healing experience. When we arrived shortly after four in the evening the parking lot was pretty full. "Ugh!" We entered the front door and I saw that everyone was packed into the bar area :) I breathed a sigh of relief :) A few parties sat in the dinning area. The hostess sat us far enough away from the beautiful fireplace that I thought I wasn't going to be able to enjoy it's warmth, but it's heat reached us even three tables away from it. (I wondered how hot the fire felt sitting near it). The waiter must have been new because he didn't tell us about any specials, the menu wasn't very familiar to him, and something just didn't seem right. I watched and listened to the waitress serving the table next to us and sure enough she rocked it. Yep, this guy must be new. I ordered the Burntwood Burger and my company ordered a burger as well. The bun was horrible. Sorry, it was. I don't like to say it, but I need to. The bun could have been the cheap buns you buy in bulk for picnics--they fall apart easily on the burger and are dry. The chef cooked the burger according to my order. The meat, however, was lacking in flavor. (The next day I ate a leftover burger from a well known restaurant that blew this burger out of the water with its flavor and perfect bun). The fries were delicious! And the presentation was picture perfect. We followed up the main course with desert. I loved it there desert. I love it because the serving size is a small glass--just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Their 5 selections of deserts are varied enough to ensure that someone in your party will find something they'd like to try--and you won't feel bad for eating too much! That's a plus. One con, other than the burger. The tables wobbled. I witnessed one family move to another table because the slant of their table was too great. Our table wobbled, but just enough so that we only had to be careful when we leaned on the table. I think my company spilt my coffee a few times.
