I booked an appointment for a "summer special facial". I intended on paying with a gift certificate. When I received my confirmation email, it stated that gift card would not be an acceptable form of payment. When I called them back I was told I could use the gift card for anything else but not for a "summer special". I then changed my facial type to a non "Special facial. Just came home from an 80 minute massage.‍ I was SO relaxed afterwards I forgot the combination to my clothes locker, in fact i ended up spending extra time in the back room coming back to earth. EVERYTHING about this place is outstanding. I only wish it was easier to find parking (I drive in from NJ). The fact that it caters to only female clients makes for a chill & relaxed experience. The spa was clean, warm, and inviting. Samantha at the front was very sweet. They have online booking and they have a waitlist which is very helpful if you're trying to get a service last minute (like me). Within the past week I've had a facial done by Amy and a massage today done by Noemi. WOW! Both ladies provided exceptional service and were so incredibly kind, professional, and talented. The place is small, yet it never felt crowded. Every area is clean. The changing room/bathroom is for one person only. You are provided with a cloth bag for your belongings, a comfy robe, and spa slippers. They also give you a locker. The reception room is in the back and there's an outdoor area to lounge in. Magazines, warm tea, lemon-infused water, and delicious chocolates and nuts are offered. My first facial was a relaxing experience. I had the classic facial and my face looks amazing. Amy did a fantastic job explaining everything and left me with NO redness after extractions. A massage with Noemi is what you need if you're a stressed person. Her hands are magic and she's so sweet. Finally had the opportunity of visiting Simple Skin Spa! I came here earlier this week for the BOGO (buy one get one half off), and got a Swedish Massage and Classic Facial. Here is a breakdown of my experience: Venue - 5 stars Impeccable. I need the inside scoop on their cleaning person, because the place was absolutely spotless. The place lives up to it's name of "Simple" but I would like to say it has more of a classic, and minimalist feel. The silence you feel when you walk in immediately fills you with peace. I was directed to the bathroom to change into my cashmere robe, and then sent to the back room that had delicious dry fruit, almond covered chocolate, strawberry infused water, and a spicy and sweet tea (all delicious). I waited there for a while, and that really allowed me to relax and get ready for my massage. Swedish Massage - 3.5 stars Naomi did my massage. I've gotten tons of Swedish Massages in the past and know what to expect. Naomi was very professional and asked me about the pressure - I answered that I would like the pressure to be less when she gets to my lower back but instead she lightened the pressure throughout my entire massage. When we got to my right leg I couldn't take the baby hands anymore and asked her to please intensify the pressure a little bit, which she successfully did. When we started the massage I told Naomi that I had pain in my lower back and left shoulder blade. She did focus on my lower back, but I didn't feel like she focused on my left shoulder blade enough. I was going to tell her, but wanted to wait until the end since I didn't know if I was going to be flipped over again; by the time I realized by left shoulder blade wasn't going to get the attention it needed, the massage was over :( Also, because she used oil, there was a lot of long stroke rubbing, instead of smaller strokes to focus a little more on pressure points. At the end of my massage I was also pretty cold since the towels that were used to wipe down the oil were not hot enough and got cold quickly. It wasn't a bad massage, it was indeed good, but I have certainly had better. Sorry Naomi! The Classic Facial - 5 stars Amy quickly greeted me after my massage and directed me to a room. Naomi had filled her in about my coldness so Amy has a very hot bed ready for me (which was perfection). Amy was super knowledgeable, and did a Chinese reading on my face before starting. She went in on the extractions which is what I was hoping for. My skin felt so breathable after the facial. I highly recommend the facial and Amy, and I certainly plan to be back to see her and hopefully purchase their natural fruit based product. So I added the scores, divided by 3, and got 4.5 - so I rounded it up. I hope to be back for a BOGO soon! read more

The spa facility is small but well kept. The massage was terrible. I had a lady with an accent who seemed like she's had no professional training. The reason I came here is because I was looking for someone to loosen my back and I was willing to pay for it $135 not including tax tip for 80min at a local Maspeth spa isn't exactly cheap. She basically rubbed my back really hard and sometimes on the spine which caused pain and discomfort. She had no idea where pressure points where or how to relieve them. Most full body massages I've had massage the head and scalp and she completely skipped that. Overall it was not enjoyable at all. I do not recommend. read more

After she focused on each group of muscles, she placed warm towels with aloe and sage on the body to soothe and cleanse each affected muscle group and to remove excess oil before moving on -that was amazing! Ambiance -Very clean, on the small side but everything is decorated nicely and has a very contemporary zen feel. -The waiting/lounge room opens up to a small garden/patio in the back. They have herbal peppermint tea, fruit-infused water, and snacks to munch on while you wait, (I suggest going early for this! They give you a fluffy robe and a key to a locker to keep your things in). Price -Great bang for your buck! (80 min. So in love with this spa!! I came here two weeks ago and treated myself to an 80 minute Swedish massage. Noemi was the best masseuse I've ever had. It was perfect. The spa itself is such a nice little relaxation spot in the middle of busy Grand Avenue. I stumbled upon this gem and decided to call them hoping for a same-day facial (which is a rarity but I figure I'd give them a ring anyway). The lady who answered the phone was so friendly and accommodating and i lucked out and she said they could see me at 3pm. (I called them at 11a when they opened). Was so lucky! First thing I noticed when I arrived was the cleanliness. Even the smell of the calming aromas that filled the air was so relaxing. I was escorted to change almost immediately. They provide slippers and the most comfortable cashmere robe ever. Then once I changed, I was escorted to the relaxation room that had such gorgeous Anthropologie-like decor, filled with snacks, refreshing water and tea. Amy was absolutely wonderful. She examined my skin and I received a classic facial. She was so gentle and explained everything. From the products she used on me to giving me advice on how to care for my skin, she was amazing. She even gave me free samples of a couple of the products she used on me. I was also not forced to purchase any products. But I actually did end up buying a couple of products they use from Nordstrom. They had a slightly cheaper deal. But not too much of a difference. I came here yesterday for a prenatal massage with Naomi and it was simply amazing. Being 29 weeks pregnant, I know the hips/back aches are just the tip of the iceberg and I was looking forward to this all week. I was a couple minutes late for my appointment and not only were they OK with it, it didn't cut in to my massage time. You have to fill out a one page questionare (dermatology or medical issues) and then they lead you to the beautiful dimly lit and lovely smelling bathroom to change in to a robe and slippers, you also get a locker and are told to keep your phone on silent. After that you wait in the back area that has two big comfortable couches, blankets, great sunlight from the back yard, herbal tea, fruit infused water, healthy snacks, and some relaxing reading material. Naomi was very sweet and attentive, the room was lit by candles and soft lighting and the massage itself was so relaxing and out of this world. To start, she put a heated bean bag filled neck pillow around my neck and an eye mask, and she rubbed some eucalyptus citrus smelling oil under my nose. It was a full body massage so she massaged my legs, feet, arms, hands, neck, shoulders and toward the end of the massage I was given a very comfortable body pillow and got to choose to lay on my left or right side while she worked my back. To make it even more heavenly, a hot towel was placed on me every time she was done with that particular spot, it also helped get some of the oil off. At the end, she asked me if I'd like tea or water to enjoy in the room while I got ready to go. I'm so glad I chose Simple Skin Spa and so lucky to get Naomi as my mausesse. Finally quality spa services in queens!! I went here a few days ago for what I thought would be a quick eyebrow wax treatment and in the end, I received far more than that!! While the prices weren't by any means cheap, the services rendered more than justified the price. If you're expecting and looking for a hit and run treatment this isn't it. My experience started with a little facial analysis and prep, followed by the actual waxing. When I say she was thorough, I mean she came at me with a magnifying glass and miners headgear. The treatment ended with her putting some skin repair ointments on. My skin is very sensitive and in the past I've walked out of other places looking burned and beaten.
