They burned off my nails with hot alcohol, after I said it was hurting made me continue. I asked them not to remove my tips and they ripped them off, they also refused to do my shape unless I added tips even though they ripped off my tips prior. Gaslighted me into thinking the color I chose from their pre selection menu didn't exist, but it was there and I had to point it to them multiple times, just to find out the color was missing, I then asked for white nails, but they insisted on a color that was "close enough" in their opinion. Safe to say I will never return and beware hot alcohol burns your hands. read more

I was scrolling for a new nail place and found this one on Yelp. First of all- no clue why I didn't find it sooner, it's so darn close to my house! It is tucked away in a little plaza under some trees. Great first visit. They do not do acrylic so no strong smell. Very friendly owner at front desk. I thought some pricing was higher than comparable services at other salons and nothing extra was done for this so I feel this establishment may need to be more competitive. They were charging and extra $17 to add gel to your pedicure where most places I've been to maybe charge only an extra $5-7. So I thought this was kind of excessive. Prior to going to the salon on August 4th, it had been approximately four months since my husband and I had had pedicures, so we were really careful about venturing out. I had been seeing ads and reading reviews for Nail Expo and I especially appreciated their approach to Covid protocols, (sanitized and safe). One comment I read and found interesting said that the women spoke in English and I thought "What an interest thing to note", because it never bothered me when workers spoke in their own language. However, this was note worthy because the ladies spoke primarily in English and engaged in on-going conversation with us instead of each other. What??? This was a nice change. Both of the ladies wore masks and I noticed that the primary tools used were packaged individually and disposed of after use. My husband and I were the only customers in the shop on a random Tuesday morning so there were no issues related to social distancing. I didn't see a need for a shield at our feet because of the inherent distance from our faces but I did notice protective shields for the manicure stations. I thought that the ladies did a very nice job and were very thorough. My pedicure has lasted for weeks and I don't mean just the polish. Even now my feet still feel very smooth and pampered. Overall, I found Nail Expo to be quiet and very relaxing because of the quiet music and silent television. I definitely recommend this salon located at the intersection of Douglas Rd and Jones Bridge Rd, ( in the center with the former Rite-Aid pharmacy building). I got a mani & pedi done here by the 2 ladies that run the salon. They're super sweet and you can tell they're hard-working. They paid attention to every little detail. I would say be generous tipping them because they're pretty much the only people running the salon every day. also, it's best to book an appointment ahead of time because like I said, there's pretty much only 2 of them. read more

Nail Expo Salon is very clean, slightly bare exterior, I think someone mentioned that management has changed so i'm guessing they're still decorating. The nail techs were talkative and kind but lacking skill. I got SNS and there's indentions and streaking from the top coat. My friend got a pedicure and the polish ran onto her cuticles. The first time I went there I had an amazing experience! She did a great job and did exactly what I asked with NO problems. This last time I went, I went just to get my sns removed. This new young girl who took them off made me bleed three times, FILED MY SKIN OFF, and was not even paying attention to what she was doing and still left part of my sns nails on after I left. Two things I want to review regarding the salon: the staff and the services. Firstly, the staff. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted very warmly by Rose, the owner. She is very courteous and attentive to customers as I have observed during my services there. The place had a very nice and chill atmosphere. From the music, entertainment, and it didn't have that strong acetone smell most nail salons have. Vivi, another nail staff, is a perfectionist at doing SNS. I assume she can do ther nail services to a T also, but I hadn't got the chance to ask for them, yet. She is also friendly like Rose. Not as talkative but hey I like the attention she gives when she did my nails! Now, secondly the services- Nail Expo does not offer Acrylic nails and mainly focuses on Sns, gel and pedi. Which are pretty awesome services to get! I was skeptic coming into a new salon and getting someone to do a decent job. But once I sat down my chair, offered a free drink, along with the chill atmosphere, I know I can relax. I had Sns and a deluxe pedi. The pedi felt really good with the sugar scrub and hot towel. Although Rose and Vivi did a great job working simultaneously on me, two of my sns popped off a few days later! I called and complained. They were very accommodating to fix it for free, which is a plus and offered a bigger discount to my next service if I was ever unhappy with the services. Most shops would charge me $5 or so off the bat to fix their work! My nails still looks really good! This place is definitely a hidden gem. I would reccomend customers to give this place a try . If you're looking for that sign to tell you if this place is worth it, this is definitely THAT sign. Like literally, they have a sign outside that says 25% off! read more
