Stopped by this new restaurant with high expectations for a friends birthday brunch. After being seated for almost an hour, a team of servers finally came and took our order. I ordered the caponata sorrentina salad. It was a bad piled mixture of items that seemed like they should go together, but were bland and poorly seasoned. For $21 I expected much more than what I could throw together from my fridge. The smoked salmon was chilled almost to the point of being frozen, and the focaccia was wet on the bottom. We waited almost an additional hour after finishing our dishes for the dessert to be served to our friend. The atmosphere is inviting well lit with softening tones. The service is top notch, you will immediately notice that every employee I heard and saw spoke in Italian while working. For my entree, I enjoyed the clam linguine, which had a delightful sauce and tons of garlic. Their seafood pastas are truly the best! We also enjoyed the Caesar salad and tuna carpaccio. While both were delicious, the portion was pretty small for the price tag. While this is finer dining, I felt like the salad in particular was a bit sparse for $15. I gave it another try...womp, womp! My sister and husband were visiting from Jersey and wanted to go here. Last time we were a large group and had a large table, but the tables for four are too small. My wife and I were elbow to elbow and I use a walking stick which I had no place other than between my legs to keep it (and we are not large people). I was in the outside chair at the corner and every time one of the staff walked by, I got bumped. I ordered the San Gennaro and it was a thick layer of cheese on a thin soft crust with minimal sausage, etc. I had to ask from some sauce on the side just to get it down. I didn't eat half the pizza as it was too chewy and just did not taste good. My wife took the leftovers home, because it was costly, but I told her to toss it since I was not going to eat it. That is two strikes against this restaurant and there won't be a chance for a third. read more

Simply Capri has become a favorite, go-to place for us. Raves: 1. Wait staff: All Italian - and proud to be so!!! They bring the food and wines to life! They add so much context and story. For those who remember, they bring that immersive feel you had in Epcot world showcase pre-covid. 2. LEGIT FOOD: they import a lot to give truly authentic cuisine. Added bonus... my wife and daughters cannot eat US gluten due to allergic reactions. They can eat the pizza and bread service (made with caputo flour) without reactions (like we do when we travel to Europe). 3. Gluten Free options: unlike the rest of my family, I have more severe reactions (and am not okay with gluten in Europe - though still less intense). They have upgraded to a truly excellent gf pasta. So good in fact that I double checked with the waiter. I figured it was literally too good to be true... 4. Diverse / unique options: I love that they do not rely on the boring options available at basically every Italian joint. They bring fresh and new ideas. 5. Ingenuity: this is honestly a continuation of the last point (and the first). Their wait and bar staff have great talent and I had such a fantastic new cocktail the other day... I am so mad at myself for not remembering the name right now. But so thankful for the bartender that developed it and had the boldness to put it out there! Amazing! THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD!! This is truly authentic Italian food and you're not going to beat the quality or flavors anywhere else. We were created and sat immediately when we came in. Every server we passed greeted us with a smile and a "welcome". The decor was stunning and made a somewhat small interior feel open and welcoming. We started with mozzarella and a charcuterie board appetizer that the four of us couldn't quite finish. The chicken Parmesan is not a typical menu item but was to die for. The breading stayed on the meat and the chicken was SOO juicy. The lasagna is scratch made on Wednesdays and is the best pics ever had. I had the ravioli and was more than impressed. It's not your typical American washed Italian food, the pasta is cooked perfectly, the sauce tastes fresh, and the ricotta filling is smooth. The two mock tails pictured were amazing and tasted exactly the way the menu description makes them seem. We also had a bottle of wine recommended by our server that was full bodied,, and paired perfectly with our meals. The tiramisu was also to die for. This place has been on our radar. We decided to do lunch on valentine's Day. I am so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious! We started with a Ceasar salad to share. The salad was very flavorful and satisfying. We also got a margarita pizza as per our server Nazario recommended. The pizza was delicious! The sauce they use is not too sweet. This felt homemade and the cheese was perfectly melted. The crust is cooked to perfection. The service was great but the food was even better. My son enjoyed the kids meal which came with a drink, appetizer, meal and dessert. Beware the lemonade is an extra $6 for a kids drink which I wish I would have been told ahead of time. My son also ate half my husband's homemade ravioli which were so light and fluffy. I loved my seafood pasta, it was very al dente but I enjoyed it that way. The sauce and all the seafood was very fresh. I feel like I've unexpectedly discovered the BEST Italian restaurant in Winter Garden! Sashaspots and myself were so fortunate to try out Simply Capri on the first day they started serving the new BRUNCH menu. I have been obsessed with Limoncello since going to Sorrento, Italy and the "Sorrento Martini" truly did the lemon liqueur justice with the perfect pungency plus sweetness from the sugar rim. Sasha had the Raspbellini and this tasted a lot like a raspberry wine cooler or hard seltzer. First, we shared the Lemon Ricotta pancakes which were rich in zest and super fluffy. It's not overly sweet and the maple syrup went well on top. Then we tried an everyday classic Italian breakfast called Frittata di Patate. All I have to say is if you love eggs/potatoes/cheese this dish is the best breakfast creation. After seeing the wood fired oven, we knew we had to try the Margherita Pizza. My mind was blown in the first bite, as it transported me back to last year in Naples, Italy where I tried the best wood fired pizza I've ever had in my life. My nostalgia was confirmed when were found out that the mozzarella is imported fresh from Naples and the sauce from tomatoes grown in San Marzano, Italy. If you love authentic Pizza, this is a must try! Knowing that the Caccavella caprese is a hand stuffed ravioli from scratch, we also had to taste it. Again, the authentic homemade tomato sauce is so robust and compliments this dish as well. Not to mention, the Parmigiano cheese pull action could have made it all the way up to the ceiling, if we were tall enough to keep going haha. We could not finish without trying their house-made Vanilla Gelato with a scoop of Lemon Sorbet. It was refreshing and hit the spot. Our server and many of the managers were so friendly and came over to check on us and made us feel so welcome. We were pleasantly surprised to know that the majority of their ingredients and sauces are imported straight from Italy! I was ecstatic to find these authentic Italian flavors right here in central Florida. The interior of this restaurant is beautiful with the flip flops hanging from the entrance ceiling, Almalfi style lamp shades over each table, and the beautifully colorful bar. Our family visited Simply Capri based on its high ratings on Yelp, and since the kids were craving Italian food. First of all, the atmosphere is beautifully decorated, reminiscent of the islands of Capri and the Amalfi Coast, similar to authentic restaurants in Capri. However, I found it a bit odd that the food came out extremely quickly, which made me wonder if the dishes we ordered were pre-made and had been sitting for a while. The pizza, in particular, seemed like it was just reheated, lacking the nice, crusty texture of a wood-fired pizza. Instead, it was quite soft and had a strange texture. The two pasta dishes we ordered were okay, but nothing stood out as exceptional. We also tried the special lasagna, which is only served on Wednesdays, but it didn't impress us either. I loved this salad. Initially wanted a caesar salad but the toppings of this salad caught my eye and it was nice to try something different for a change. We also ordered the fried calamari, shrimp, and baccala fish. Tasted fresh. Nicely battered and fried. For our main course we ordered the cheese pizza and requested basil on top. The slice is very thin and it felt "floppy" since it was loaded with sauce and cheese. Folding the slice only seemed appropriate. Other than that.... It was a delicious pizza. The quality and flavors were amazing. We also wanted to try the roasted gold potatoes and got that on the side. It definitely could have used some salt. Crispy skin and fluffy interior. We ended the dinner with a cannoli filled with pistachio cream and ricotta cream. It was delicious. Of course, our server Antonio was on top of everything.
