It was our first time and me and my friends were excited to see the different options. We arrive around 8:40 and the girl at the register was not friendly. She looked like she hated working there. I asked what time they closed she said 9 and ok maybe we did get there late but If you're going to be working at the front you should know it's all about customer service. Stopped by today after my barre class in the shopping center. Unfortunately the shop wasn't open yet, but a woman working saw my friend and I looking through the window and opened the doors for us! I ordered a custom cake from here. They worked with me to create a design for my sisters birthday. It was a carrot cake covered with fondant. I don't particularly like carrot cake, but I found this cake to be very moist and quite tasty. The decoration and personalization, a vintage key with a tag for the message to help celebrate my sisters new home as well was perfect! I was super busy at work so they gladly delivered it to me. My husband and I were so excited to find a bakery that has gluten AND dairy free cupcakes! We've been a few times and even order 2 1/2 dozen cupcakes for our baby shower and always been impressed - not only with the look but also with the taste of them! You can't even tell they're gluten and dairy free. I've recommended Simply Desserts to many of our friends and family in the area. Tonight we went and got 2 regular cupcakes and 1 gluten/dairy free one. Taking into account the warmth, I knew there would be some melting but upon getting home the regular cupcakes looked fairly close to identical to how they look in the display case. However, the gluten/dairy free one appears to have had minimal icing to begin with. It's my fault for not checking at the store but I've never had this issue before so I didn't think of it. Needless to say, it's hard to justify the $3.50 for a cupcake that looks like one I could make at home. I will be returning and hope that this isn't an ongoing thing! read more

We were so happy with our wedding cake. We had our wedding in the middle of nowhere, and they delivered on time and even waited on us for a few minutes. Not only did we receive great customer service from Alex and Kim, everyone there was so helpful. Pricing was so fair, and we had so many great complements about the taste. Horrible and extremely upsetting experience! Don't even waste your time with this horrible business. My husband and I wanted a dozen of cupcakes to enjoy after our civil marriage ceremony. My husband contacted this business via phone and asked for vanilla cupcakes with a raspberry filling and requested them to be decorated special for our wedding. He specifically requested to have the cupcakes in 2 containers ( 2) half dozens - so we could easily enjoy one half dozen and then easily freeze the other half dozen to enjoy on our first marriage anniversary. When he picked up the cupcakes, I was disappointed that simple directions couldn't be followed - they were in a dozen container and extremely boring looking - no pizazz at all!!! Why??!!!!! Do I always have to be the boss of everyone??! The plastic container was wrapped in plastic wrap and had a rancid smell - like being in a dirty fridge or dirty house (this business is ran out of a home) .... Had I known that, I would have gone elsewhere. This was the day before our ceremony - so I decided to "go with it" but something told me to try them right away before we even got home. The cupcakes had a slight odd smell. I took a bite and was DISGUSTED!!!!! No filling at all! But it wouldn't have mattered , because it was that disgusting and dry, I couldn't even finish it. HOW HARD IS IT TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS??!! My husband called them right away to convey our disgust. They offered to make new ones but I wasn't having that. It's my f'n wedding for god's sake!!! You think I want more of your shitty cupcakes? Then she offered a 25% discount IF we returned the above-mentioned cupcakes. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???!!! It's literally the day before we're supposed to get married and I have to deal with this shit??! My husband isn't a door mat... She said she was just leaving for my house (45 min. drive!) altho' she should have been here with the cake an hour ahead. She got here as guests were arriving and the cake decorations hadn't been finished. I paid almost $500 for an unfinished cake and a hassle that I had to deal with at the last minute with guests in the house. She was unpleasant on top of it and afterward, though after a testy conversation she did provide a small refund. She asked questions about him to find out how to best decorate it. It was ready on time and looked great. She decorated it with his TKD junior black belt colors. It looked great, but even better than how it looked was how it tasted. Amazing. I almost couldn't wait for the kids to come. Just opening the box to see it, I was overwhelmed with how good it smelled. MY son's birthday isn't until April, but just the other day he asked me if Ms Kimberly was going to make his birthday cake again this year. I can't wait. This is my go to desert shop from now on! Service is hometown and the people are so nice. I forgot to pickup my Thanksgiving deserts. I called them at closing on the night before Thanksgiving & they told me to come on over to get my deserts. They were very understanding that I had forgotten the deserts. The Brownie Bars, both Red Velvet & Honey Ganache were unbelievably good! You REALLY need to try them! The Chocolate Chip bar was excellent! It was very moist but my favorite part was the icing which is surprising for me because usually with any cupcake i can't stand the frosting. We wanted an unusual combination of tiered cake layers and cake pops. Kimberly sat with us, asked questions, and sketched until what was in my head was on her paper. She used a combination of materials (edible and non) to get the look we wanted, and the cake pops and edible layers of the tiered cake were delicious. I showed Kimberly a picture of a cake I found on Pinterest and asked her to replicate it. It was buttercream frosting but with very intricate and detailed fondant characters on top. She nailed it! The cake looked EXACTLY like what I asked for. Not only that, but it tasted delicious. I've had many cakes where the design was great but the cake was dry, or the cake was moist but the design was amateur. This was perfect. We received compliments all night. We have used her twice for our daughter's birthday parties, and each time the cakes looked amazing (One was a island with a rice krispie treat sand castle, and then a tea pot with tea cup cupcakes, both cakes were little works of art), and tasted even better!
