The owner is amazing. I made 3 wrong selections on a product and she worked with me until I found the right one. She's kind, graceful and very professional! She keeps her store immaculate like she keeps herself, with pride. My friend said she visited the cosmetology school that's on site of the beauty supply. She said that the owner was great but the instructor, a little short lady with dreds wasn't so great. She said she got her hair washed and conditioned and afterwards the instructor did not allow the student to comb her hair or even put it in a band; she said it happened to her twice. She said she overheard the instructor brag about not letting customers leave just any kind of way, but my friend said she wasn't given that courtesy . I told my friend to go to another place, and she did. She said it's much better service. I feel for the owner because I know that she wouldn't tolerate that behavior under any circumstances! I'm giving 4 stars because the owner is great, but from what I was told I'd give the instructor 3 or less for her lack of professionalism! read more

I came here looking for some twist hair. When I walked in, there were two ladies working behind the counter and they did not acknowledge me. They just looked at me strange. I was debating on leaving then but I wanted to get some hair. The store was very small but they had a nice selection of products. I picked out two packs of hair. When I went to check out the two ladies took a very long time trying to scan and enter the items in the register. One lady apologized but after about 5 minutes they end up asking me if I had an account with the store to get points and I said no. After they told me the price I realized they were trying to charge me $7.99 per pack; when the package clearly stated $6.99. When I said isn't the hair $6.99 each; one of the ladies said it's $7.99 but I will let you have it for $6.99. If I could give this store ZERO stars I would. My first time coming was yesterday, to this beauty salon and I love it! The owner kisha is very nice and helpful. She was very attentive to us at all times with anything we wanted to look at. She has everything you need! All types of hair extensions, wigs, and dye colors with plenty more needs you want. I purchased one wig that is flawless for the summer. I cannot wait to wear it! They have a barbershop couple stores down and beauty academy that is very modern and well kept! Very decent prices here and it makes it even better with great customer service. Got a fantastic haircut for my four-year-old grandson, who has autism. The barber was patient and super kind--professionalism at its best.

I have called multiple times to schedule an appointment for braids and they always tell me i need to call at a certain time to talke to the braider i go to call and they give me the fucking run around like bruh so much for supporting black businesses. I went to this beauty supply for braiding hair on a Sunday morning and the experience was incredibly easy and super helpful, which is NOT the case at all beauty supply stores! I was trying to match my hair color with the braiding hair and was having trouble. The gentleman behind the counter offered to help and I'm so grateful he did. I came here in a bind to get some hair that would take too long to receive by mail. The staff wear masks (yay!) but some of the patrons do not practice social distancing, which is a must in a small store. There's a good variety of hair brands and types to choose from. I was able to get what I needed. They actually had better options than Amazon FYI. Note, their prices are higher. However, I think it's worth it to pay more because it is a local and black owned shop. I didn't take any photos because I was in a hurry to get out of there due to lack of personal space. Everything is in order, people are extremely helpful and pleasant. It warms my heart. I NEED certain things for my hair and my kids hair that you would only find in certain beauty supplies. So sometimes we need to take a little trip back to the hood lol. Thank you for being so professional. It's a beautiful thing to see the growth in the black community. This is not a small achievement. I try to give them a chance every few months but everytime I come in, the girl at the front either (always someone different btw) has a attitude, doesn't say hello, or is just not helpful. The staff must be underpaid or undertrained for them to not care about their customers. Save your time and order what you need off amazon or go somewhere else. The beauty supply store is supposed to be a place where black women can go to celebrate our beauty, learn new tips, and get excited about self care. You'll walk in this place and no one will even acknowledge you... Do you realize how that makes customers feel? Writing a review hoping this makes a difference... the vibes here are just not it. Ok, what a great convenient beauty shop!. Its always hard trying to find good beauty shops that have what you need, offer help, aren't over priced, and have good customer service. Not to mention the owner is in the store providing assistance. I came by here today on a rare find and so glad I found this little gem.
