Don't be fooled by the empty look. There is a patio and they are super busy with take out. Quiet atmosphere. Simple decor. But there is nothing simple about the food and taste. Présentation is clean and enticing. The octopus melts in your mouth. A quick onion pickle and capers enhance the flavor. The grilled calamari are perfectly cooked. They snap gently when you bite them. Olive oil extra virgen and grilled lemon to be squeezed delivering warm lemon juice that provides a finishing touch. The bronzina is presented with head and tail but no bones at all. Juicy and moist, not greasy, flavorful, you cannot put the fork down. The crispy skin has been flawlessly cleaned. The dessert with custard and cream sweet enough to finish the meal. Greek coffee is a must and you have to have the Greek port to complete the experience. We went there at 5;30 on a Saturday night. We ordered grape leaves app, salad and the grilled cheese. They came back to us and said they have no grape leaves. Whatttttt? Then my friend ordered a Gyro which she was told that they don't have that either. She had the moussaka and I had Bronzino. The food was adequate. The best part was the cocktail. It was overpriced and we don't recommend it. The wait staff was excellent though. read more

I made a recent trip to Brooklyn DOP and I noticed Simply Greek. After reading some positive review's I pulled the trigger. Simply Greek does not have a bar, so I opted to dine on their deck. It was a fabulous evening, and the deck was very nice. I ordered the special Buratta with Beets, and the Grilled Octopus. Both dishes were fine, as were the two glasses of wine. The restaurant was empty, and I was a bit sad. I hope that another positive review will help them out. read more

Absolutely our favorite Greek place. The food here is terrific, reasonable prices, you must try it out - so many interesting things on the menu, both the most common Greek favorites and other delicious things. Some faves: their avgolemono soup is a wow!; also the spanikopita; falafel; dips and spreads; salads; the grilled pita is wonderful! and many others. We usually get takeout these days but the restaurant is very nice, simply but elegantly appointed. They also have outdoor seating for nicer days. Excellent wine selections. Simply Greek is a very solid neighborhood Greek spot. I often get takeout here (but should dine in more often because it's a lovely interior and the service has been great every time I've dined in). I especially love their chicken gyro, avgolemono, lemon potatoes, and horiatiki. I used to really enjoy their sardines as well, but I think they changed the type of sardine they serve and I don't enjoy the dish as much. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving Greek food! read more

Yikes. I ordered moussaka here and it was hot garbage. It was wildly overcooked, dried out and completely flavorless. It seemed days old. Honestly it was atrocious. My wife ordered the fish and it, too, was overcooked and not particularly good. Definitely skip this place. read more

We had Gyros delivered tonight after having them delivered a few weeks ago. Even though we live 20 blocks away, everything tasted fresh and delicious. I had the chicken souvlaki last time and hubby had the lamb. Everything was so good but had to choose the Rotisserie Lamb this time because it's quite amazing. I ordered the lamb gyro, Greek salad and olives with pita bread- the lamb gyro was really good- except I paid for extra slices of cucumber that wasn't included, for my salad I asked for no tomatoes, there was tomatoes & no dressing so the salad was fresh but dry if that makes sense. The gyro is an elevated experience. It is not the traditional fast food snack (delicious in its own way), but made with fresh roasted lamb, similar to anything I've eaten for . The french fries were also delicious, with a dusting of oregano. The food is authentic and quality. As an aside, another review commented some nonsense on the choriatiki being made with a 'slab' of feta as though that were an error... That is how a Greek salad is made! read more

My wife and I were had heard great things about this place and ordered delivery (we live less than a mile away in Brooklyn) from them last night. We were extremely disappointed. We ordered grilled octopus and grilled calamari-- they were over cooked and had little taste. The same with the lamb and chicken sticks-- all over cooked, using little oil or fat and no spices or herbs. The Horatiki salad, which should be made up of small dice of its main ingredients (Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Onions, Peppers. Instead there were large chunks topped by a slab of Feta, not crumbled. My wife's Marouli salad had almost no "micro dill." The best dish were the slightly overcooked and nearly flavorless lemon potatoes. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

WOW! Everything about this place was awesome. my daughter and I were looking for a place with outdoor dining that she hadn't eaten at before. We decided on Simply Greek. That sat us at a small table with a heater on their back patio, it was lovely from start to finish. The pita bread was yummy, the greek salad, perfectly dressed, the main entree delicious. She had the chicken skewer platter, 4 full skewer with potatoes to die for. I had a pulled pork Gyro, amazing! The service was impeccable, and to top off our perfect experience we were handed a bag and told " we packed you a piece of our baklava for a late night snack". We hosted a private event at Simply Greek and Kenny and team (Jocelyn, Steve, etc) went above and beyond to make sure that our reception was a success! The food was delicious and the presentation was elegant but most importantly, the service was stellar. What we really appreciated about the entire staff was how much pride they took in providing a 5-star experience - they were so accommodating leading up to the event, thought of all the little details, and even made sure that we as hosts were fed during the event. I thought this place was great! I ordered the chicken souvlaki plate, and it was so generous, I actually couldn't finish all of it even over a couple of days. The food was simple, tasty, and they offered great portions for the price. I had a little trouble with the spicing because I have a personal sensitivity to dill, but I'll definitely be back to try the rotisserie plate. I even called and asked about the size of the Greek salad before I placed my order. Very little food, folks. Honestly. And the "block of cheese" on top of the Greek salad (which he even referenced on the phone) was not at all a block. Cheap store crumbles. I don't know if they ran out or what. Tiny side of grilled vegetables for an exorbitant fee. This was not a good experience for us. read more
