Due to a water leak, we have been out of our house for several months. Simply Pho has provided us the best meals in the Dripping Springs area. Our favorites include the Thai wings, the best Tom Kha soup we have ever had. Love the flat noodle dish (prefer with veggies only) and the Sizzling Lemon Grass plate was very good. The Green Curry was really spicy but it grew on me. Service has always been good. Watch out for the step down if sitting in a booth. read more

I literally come here almost every day to get a Boba, the customer service is always great. They get busy, but it's worth the way every time. Now onto the smoothie, it's not too sweet, balanced. They put the perfect amount of Boba where there is literally enough Boba for the whole drink. read more

A1. House Egg Rolls (2)-perhaps the best I've ever had A6. Fried Pot Stickers (6)-really good too Not bad: B4. Grilled Pork and Rolls Vermicelli-meh Don't even think about it: K1. Kid Pho Description Rice noodle in beef or chicken broth. Choice of chicken, beef, tofu, or veggie. Ordered veggie but broth tasted like it has NO chicken or beef in it. It was very cinnamony and not good. K2. Kid Lo-Mein I would not buy the kid portions for your kids, it seems the food is not as good. Buy regular portions and share with your kids. Okay- so my review is based on the food and not service. The service is great and honestly the staff at this location are always on point. Now the food (which I've had at both locations-Bee Cave) is definitely a fusion of American Expression. This is very Americanized and so if your into Chinese food or food of that kind -- this is the place for you. I have had their Chinese version of things and it's very much just that. But even saying that I've had some great American versions of Chinese food and this is even below that. The Tom Ka soup is horrible and way too sweet. I eat Thai food multiple times a week and this place is so gross in comparison. I do know people like it- but if you don't eat normal Tom Ka, Tom Yum or Thai food- than your pallette has nothing to compare it too. My daughter has had the veggie Pho and it has no flavor at all-- she tried adding more chili oil and that just made it worse. Now with that said, my husband had a chicken dish and it was okay- But he said it was pretty much like any chinese/Asian food. I understand this isn't just a Chinese place and Pho isn't Chinese food. But I would say don't have high expectations when going in and know that you will have a decent Asian experience for a higher price... but I would eat at Fork & Spoon for something a tad bit more authentic. So far each visit we have only gotten the same 3 things, but every time it slaps! The chicken pad thai without peanuts is my go to! This place is very inconsistent! Some days its good others days really not so good. Today was a not so good. The kitchen staff and wait staff need to learn how to coordinate food going out. They make good food, the pho is nice and hot and flavorful. My big gripe is with the general tso's, orange, and sesame chicken. Every time I order those items they're sort of lukewarm, not really hot. They're also often understaffed, which causes slow service. Like an hour minimum slow. read more

All my orders have been to-go. Pulled up the menu......... Saw cream cheese won-ton on the menu.... Uuuh ooohhh... "This is a REALLY an Americanized place." This is someone whose had "two thumbs" pho and had grown up eating SE food. One determines a Pho restaurant by the quality of the beef broth, pronounced FaaH' - not Foh. The depth and the richness of it. Since I stopped eating red meat I haven't tried it here. I noticed that they don't carry traditional pho - the ones with tendons, etc. Maybe I can get one of my friend to order a beef broth pho and let me get a sip of it. P11: Vegetable pho, small - The soup is tasty. Doesn't have depth, byou can taste the star anise. I was pleasantly surprised on the quantity and the variety of veggies! Lots and they include bok choy! The bean sprouts were a bit on the brown side, but I haven't had any good ones (either at the stores - even at Asian stores, or restaurants) since being in Austin. It was nicely packed. I would definitely get this again. I'm accustomed to a price point of less than $7.00 for a small pho and less than $9.00 for a large so $10.50 was a bit on the high side for a small. B6: Vermicelli bun - Shrimp. For the price, you DO get a good amount of shrimp, but the flavor is lacking. The super thumbs up, the shrimps were NOT over cooked! YAH! The drive home wilted the lettuce from the warm shrimp . The nuoc mam/nuoc cham - fish sauce, is REEEALLY watered down. Hardly any taste/flavor. Had to add extra at home. I would order this again. B10: Salt and pepper tofu - Tasty but the quantity is S-M-A-L-L. I thought it would be packed in the large to-go container but it was in the small styrofoam. The quantity was about 1/3 block of tofu, if even that. I paid $11.50! If this is the regular size, I wonder how much smaller for the appetizer! I'm guessing the other salt pepper items are tasty. M6: Banh Mi - tofu. The bread is suppose to be light crispy French bread. It's not. I was SOOOOO disappointed. It's the texture of a Hoagie roll. The size is correct - a little larger than a hot dog bun, but the price is a bit expensive. The sandwich has NOOOO taste. I know you're thinking/saying "Well you got tofu, what do you expect?!?!?" Uh no.. I've had other tofu Banh Mi's that tastes super yummy that you want a 2nd one - even by my meat eater friends. The pickled veggies are soooo mild I hardly tasted them. Usually Bahn Mi's are light and refreshing but this was not. 1st bite - no taste, 2nd bite - taste, nothing yet and the bread texture is getting to me, 3rd bite - Now I'm mad at the entire thing, no flavor and the bread, UGH! I gave it three chances. There was my three. I couldn't eat the other half. Can I say again that I was SOOOO mad about the bread. N1: Wok on Fire Flat Noodle - AIYAH! Its Tooooo wet! As Uncle Roger would say. Yes I know there are two kinds, dry and gravy. This wasn't dry, obviously, and it sure wasn't gravy. Opened the container and there's a puddle of "wet"/sauce?. Veggies waaay overcooked. I prefer my this type of dish to be savory. Its on the sweet side. Time to add chili oil.... This will be a no go in the future for me. I saw that under Com - rice, they have brown sauce veggie rice plate. Haven't tried it but if you read my previous reviews on Chinese restaurants, I mentioned about this mystery brown sauce. It's well known in Austin. I never had it before I came here. We really love Simply Pho. We stopped in for a quick visit yesterday, and ordered two bowls of pho and the salt & pepper tofu appetizer. Service was prompt and friendly, we got seated right away, and our food came very quickly, which was great, because we were time-constrained. The phos had a generous amount of meat and the soup flavor was strong and beefy. We ended up getting a take-away container for the extra even though we both ordered smalls. We specially liked the tofu appetizer - it was crunchy and had a lot of the salty fried onion bits on the side that go so well with the tofu. Prices were reasonable. Just one thing - if you order a Viet coffee, it won't come in the little metal drip device over ice - you will get a pre-mixed drink in a sealed plastic cup, like a bubble tea. I would have preferred the traditional drip set-up, but this was good too - flavor was all there - if a bit sweet. They seem to be quite popular for take-out especially - there always seemed to be about 5 or more bags ready to be picked up the whole time we were there. This is the best pho around! We are so happy they moved closer to drip. The pho is always consistent and the service is as well. The service is what you would expect at a pho restaurant but a little bit nicer. The have beer wine and boba. Prices are reasonable. I should start by saying that I don't eat Vietnamese or Thai food, but I do like some Chinese food dishes. Since we don't have any Chinese food around Belterra or Dripping Springs, I went to this place to get their Orange Chicken and their Chicken Lo Mein. Neither was good. The lo mein noodles have a strange orange color and the flavor was okay, but didn't taste like traditional lo mein. What I really disliked, however, was the orange chicken. The orange sauce/glaze was good, but the chicken itself tasted terrible. It was dry and tasted like it was pre-cooked reheated chicken (which is probably what it was). I guess the hope is that the flavor of the sauce will cover up for the bad chicken flavor, but it didn't. I'm glad I tried this place once because now I now to cross it off my list of options for food around Belterra/Dripping Springs. read more

We've had dine-in and to-go from Simply Pho. Dine-in the service was good. The beef pho was good but it's not a norm for us so it may be excellent and it's just not for us. The day we had it the pho was tasty. We had left-overs and it did not heat well the next day so just a heads up if you take home leftover pho. The Pad Thai was very good. Much better, more flavorful, then we've had at the other area restaurants offering Pad Thai. read more

Absolutely the worst experience and even after trying to give them a second chance. 1. Asked for a menu accommodation of 1 additional crab wonton. 2. Suggesting the menu should reflect 6 crab wontons instead as this is a shared APPETIZER!!!!! 3. We ask for the manager as the waitress cannot confirm we can get 1 additional crab wonton. 4. The manager comes over (hands in pockets) poor form and asks if he can help. We state that we would prefer 1 additional crab wonton and we will happily pay. He states that the system does not allow and that we can place an order for 2 crab wonton appetizers and take the additional 4 home. 5. We express disappointment and dismay at the lack of accommodation and the manager leaves. 6. Comes back with another person stating cops are on the way and we can leave as customers around us are uncomfortable with our disbelief in service and accommodation. 7. We have had to walk out multiple times due to poor or no service. Sometimes being seated for more than 20 minutes without any interaction with staff. I understand staffing shortages and the Service issues everyone is experiencing, but the pho house is exceptionally bad. Too bad because their food is quite good when you can get service. Having a dedicated greeter and maybe adding some table staff would go a long way. I love this place! I get the rib eye pho and it is delicious. Extremely flavorful. I believe that it is the best bowl of pho that I have ever eaten. I get a boba and hubby gets a beer on draft. Very nice interior and vibe. Waiters and waitresses are all on point with their service. The only thing I may suggest is a better seating system during busy hours as people pile up near the door. I can't understand the high ratings for this place. I was really looking forward to trying this new restaurant because it's on my way home from work. SO disappointed in the quality of the food. The Crab Rangoon's were about 95% fried wontons. Maybe I misread the menu for the Kung Pao Chicken --I didn't realize it had fried chicken in it. The General Tso chicken, same as the Kung Pao, had chicken that tasted like Tyson fried chicken nuggets that were warmed up in the sauce. They tasted kind of mushy..,very low quality meat. And this meal wasn't cheap--$44.00! I have a sad feeling that this place will go out of business Like the last Asian restaurant that was in that spot. I heard there is a great Thai food trailer a little further down the street....I'm hoping it is much better than this place. read more
