From Chicago, looking for a good Chinese restaurant, decided to try Koy. Here are my thoughts: -Service was good and very, very fast. We ordered and received our food in less than 10 minutes. -Fresh springs rolls for an appetizer. I didn't have one but my wife said they were good. -I ordered the broccoli chicken with light brown sauce. It was good, not great. Chicken quality not high. -However, the amount of food you get is definitely king size! You will definitely have leftovers. -My wife got the sesame chicken, said it was "middle of the road" Chinese--not really good and not really bad. We probably will not go back. I was pleasantly surprised by the takeout from Koy. We ordered the cashew chicken and combo lo mein entrees. Both were large portions with plenty of leftovers. We enjoyed each entree. The order was ready fairly quickly for a Friday evening and was packaged to not spill. We'll definitely consider them again for takeout. read more

Let me start with service is amazing there. They are fast. Nice and it's a clean establishment. Food to me. Did not have any memorable flavor. We ordered their crab Rangoons and wrap was so thick and did not have enough cream cheese.Even the cream cheese didn't have any flavor to me. Absolutely disgusting. One of the worst Chinese meals I have ever tasted. Panda is better and that is sad

Yesterday was the "big freeze" in Central Texas. I had a hankering for Chinese food, but both Panda Expresses (in Kyle and Buda) were closed (guess it's nice they gave 'em a snow day!). So I searched for other options and found this one on the map nearby. I was initially quite excited to try it, rather than just defaulting to chain restaurant Chinese food, and eagerly we perused the impressive menu of options, and made our selections to take to-go. The staff were all extremely friendly, warm, and helpful. We were given a time estimate of 10-15 minutes to prepare our food, but it definitely took under 10 minutes, so that was awesome. While we took our food home to eat, we admired the nice ambiance of the inside and took note that it would be an enjoyable place to come back and dine in sometime. Sadly, I don't think that will be the case though. Both of us were incredibly underwhelmed by the taste and texture of our food. :( The cream cheese rangoons were almost doughy... The fried rice had no vegetables or egg or anything in it... The meals were lackluster. Quite unfortunate to discover. Once upon a time there were restaurants that featured the cuisine of the proprietor's home country. Usually great fresh delicious foods that leave you craving for more. Such is our quest for delicious Chinese food. By reference the foods that captured our hearts and senses in cities in the Northeast and Far west. Moving to Texas we took that quest with us and recently on a cool summer evening we drove out to Kyle to dine at Koy Chinese & Sushi Restaurant. That drive was not worth the cost of gas. The food was practically nonedible. The egg roll was cooked in what tasted like old oil as did the shrimp served as sweet and sour. the presentation consisted of quartered strips of shrimp in an over cooked batter colored dark from old oil, a few pieces of green pepper, a hunk of onion and a ramekin of sweet and sour sauce. We had another chicken with vegetables dish in a white sause that was flovorless. Very disaopointing. NO return for us! read more

The beef broccoli meat was tender and the chicken cashew was good. Food was a little too salty for us. The portions were good. The wonton soup was terrible. Clear water with onions and one wonton that had no meat in it. Not even a cup of water. Threw it away. Customer service was good. Will try again minus their soup. read more

Customer service is good. Place is clean. They have decent lunch specials. Ambiance is relaxing. Now the meal was a hit and miss. I ordered Kung Pao Shrimp, fried rice, egg drop soup with a roll. The Kung Pao was missing the peppers and green onions. The fried rice had no veggies, no egg and it tasted like steamed rice with exaggerated amount of soy sauce. Although, the meal was not the greatest, it wasn't bad either. The seasoning was good. We also ordered a smoked salmon sushi roll, again not the greatest but not bad. My husband ordered the sesame chicken lunch special and it was very good. The egg drop soup and the hot & sour soups were very tasty. The rolls were very good. If you're craving Chinese food, this is a good quick fix. With saying all this, we will definitely return and try other dishes. read more

I used to visit this place quite often and then for some reason I forgot about it recently. I went back and got the fried rice and sushi, which was pretty good, but I did love their yellow curry, which came in a big serving size with lots of vegetables. read more

Our second time visiting Koy. We had the steamed dumplings and egg rolls for appetizers and both were a big hit and super delicious!! If you're looking for Chinese food in Kyle, stop bc you've found the place! I love their orange chicken and they always give you so much food that you will have two meals and it heats up great for round two. My husband gets the general tso and their egg rolls are the bomb. Sometimes we door dash it or you can place an online order and pick up - they have good to go service! We've never dined in but I did pick up food on a Friday night and it was very busy in there so it's popular for sure. read more

This was our first time trying it and wanted to check out the lunch specials. The egg drop soup was piping hot and love the crunchies (this is what I call them.) All of our food was hot and was tasty. I got both scoops and rice and felt the steam rice tasted better. We were happy to try a new restaurant in the area and our waiter was great! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Wonton and hot&sour soups were great and reasonably priced. The egg roll was one of only a few I've ever liked. Beef garlic and beef and scallops had ample portions and both with good flavor. We expected 3 or 4 scallops and were surprised there were 7, and done very well considering they are mixed in with the beef and veggies. Our options for Chinese are pretty limited in Kyle proper. Koy is close to the house, their food is good, wouldn't say I go out of my way to eat there. The staff are always courteous and efficient. It is clean and has a decent amount of seating. I usually like sesame shrimp but it is too breaded at Koy. Their sesame chicken is the same. My hubby likes their garlic shrimp. read more

Walked in and placed a takeout order on Saturday night. I ordered the General Tso's chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. I ordered an extra egg roll and I'm glad I did as the egg rolls are outstanding-perfectly crispy with the right amount of filling and super tasty. The egg rolls are some of the best I've had. The General Tso's had good flavor and the portion size ample. I could have used more heat and more flavor but it was still a solid dish. The fried rice didn't add anything to the meal and offered little flavor. Staff were friendly when placing my order. I picked up my order almost 40 minutes after it was done and it was still delicious. The Cheese Rangoons were a little soggy but because I waited almost an hour to eat them but overall so good!!! Oh man. Our server was super sweet! And the Wasabi was great! The ambiance was so misleading and completely raised our expectations because it was so nice. My sushi was cold, but the shrimp on it was rubbery. The hot and sour soup we ordered as an app was brought out after the meal. And the meals were brought out one plate at a time and about 5 minutes apart. So my husband was sitting there with his meal while the rest of us were... not. The Kung pow chicken and shrimp was really flat with this weird kinda gritty chicken. The serving of rice with it was suuuuper small. The egg Rolls were really super crispy (over fried) which led to no flavor. The kids chicken nuggets were hard, breaded circles but my boys smothered them in sweet and sour and ate them anyway... Like I said, they were nice enough but that's about all this place has going for it, unfortunately. read more

Been here before for eat in, but it's been a long while. Stopped by on Sunday morning for some take out. My wife was sick and likes hot and sour soup on her throat when it's irritated. The soup may have been left over from the day before. It was really thick and fairly greasy. To the point where my wife didn't even eat it. The rest of the food was fairly bland. Don't think we'll go back based off this. Next time our go-to Chinese food place is closed, I think we'd do better going with Thai or just going a different direction. read more

I went to Koy, expecting an underdog to come through with a win. I was so wrong. Upon entering the host was all smiles and the waiter was sweet, though it did take a bit for him to get to our table and offer drinks. I have to say the best thing I had that day was the Dr. Pepper. We started off by ordering dumplings for our starter. Some minutes later we also ordered general tso and some sushi. The general tso ended up coming out before the app. General tso lacked flavor. A couple minutes later the dumplings came out and mind you I'm starving but upon first bite I knew I made a mistake. I ate two just to make sure and I couldn't do anymore. The final straw was the sushi, it lacked flavor and had an unfresh taste. It might be that my palette and Koy are not meant to be but I did see many people enjoying their food. I just moved here from Georgia and didn't realize they hadn't been opened since covid began last year for dine in. The guy who checked me out was super friendly. I ordered the ninja roll and a spicy tuna roll. I don't get why there are so many negative reviews for this restaurant. The spicy tuna was very good, the ninja roll just wasn't my favorite but that's my preference - not that anything was wrong with it. As far as inside - they aren't doing dine in so obviously utilizing space. I could care less as long as the cooking area is clean. I hope to give them another try for the Chinese side of the menu. Local business only survive with local support. I believe if Koy will prioritize fresh ingredients it will be around for a while. read more
