Dr. Kira Gekht was recommended to me by a co-worker. I also have other issues with TMJ and grinding my teeth when I sleep. I have not been to a dentist in a very long time and had a tooth whose filling had fell out (due to grinding) and needed work. I was in a little bit of discomfort and after she took my x-rays and took a casting of my upper and lower teeth, informed me that there was a lot of work that needed to be done and would need some time to create a comprehensive solution. Due to me having some serious bite mis-alignment where my teeth come in contact it would be to my detriment to have a filling that day. Because of her understanding of my situation did not want to add another filling who would eventually be another victim of TMJ. She reached out to another professional (Dr. Menendez) to consult. Based on the images of the casting and the x-rays Dr. Menendez mentioned that her patient also may sleep apnea issue, (Which I had many years ago but lost lots of weight so it went away). We all met again and came up with a comprehensive solution that would include having fixing the filling and getting bite-guard in the short term. For the long term treatment I would go to see specialist at the University of Florida to help fix my 1/3" underbite, which may also help my sleep apnea issue. Like most people, I have always had a fear of being in the dreaded dentist chair. Such is not the case anymore now that I go to Simply Smiles. This is the BEST staff and the BEST dentist I have ever been to. Unlike any other dentists I have ever been to, Dr. Gekht truly cares about her patients needs and explains everything in great detail which is certainly uncommon in my past experiences. I walked out of this office yesterday with a smile that I've never had before . Dr. Gekht fixed ALL of the bad dental work I had done over the years, my gums are healthy again and my teeth are perfect. My entire life I have been self conscious of my teeth and I can't express enough how liberating it is to finally be able to show off a perfect smile. Simply smiles is by far the best dentist office I have ever been too. The office is always immaculately clean and they use all the latest equipment and only the best materials. Both the staff and the doctors there are friendly and courteous and go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and well informed about any treatment they recommend. I was very nervous about a procedure that I needed but Carmen who is one of Dr. Gekht assistants took extra time to go over everything with me and make sure I was relaxed. Plus Dr. Gekht was super gentle during the whole procedure I didn't feel any pain! Oh and one more thing which is really important to me is the fact like I never felt pressured to have any unnecessary work done. I have been to a few dentists in my time and alot of them really went high pressure on me to have all this extensive dental work done. I never once got that feeling at simply smiles, the doctor actually told me I didn't need most of the stuff done that my previous dentist was trying to get me to have done. Walked in yesterday with a broken molar filling! This was after I had stopped at 2 other practices that had no Dentist in, as all were at a convention in Orlando! What are the chances! I went to Simply Smiles and was taken care of immediately by Carmen, Dental Assistant and Dr. Rivera. They consider everything you ask, and do their due diligence when I told them of allergic reactions and were very professional. I had to have the tooth prepped for a crown this was after a full set of x rays and cleaning by their really nice Hygienist. I was there for a long time as I was a walk in and before they prepped the tooth for crown Dr. Rivera gave me part of her lunch so I would feel better prior to being given the anesthesia and all the tooth prep for a temporary. They are very proficient, detailed, care about your comfort and explain everything! Thank you very much for fitting me in amongst all the other appointments. I highly recommend this dental practice! My whole life I have been going to the dentist every 6 months for cleaning and checkups. I typically would choose a dentist closest to my home, but I needed cosmetic work done and had heard from two different people that Dr. Gekt was amazing at what she did. Her office is a 45-minute drive from my home but thank God I found her when I did! On my first visit Dr. Gekt did an x-ray and saw a suspicious black mass in my upper gum area. Immediately I went for a cat-scan and sure enough there was an infection eating the bone away in my gums that had been forming for probably 20 years, from a bad root canal somebody had done on me. In all those years no dentist was ever concerned about the dark spot in my x-rays. I am very grateful for Simply Smiles because my teeth were saved and I now have a bright white, even smile! I went to Simply Smiles the beginning of February for a cleaning and X-rays. We had just moved from Illinois right outside of Chicago. I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the state of the art technology. Unfortunately, two cavities were detected in two of my crowned teeth. I saw Dr. Kira Gekht on the 5th of February and she not only numbed me, but removed the crowns, removed the caries, took impressions for both the temporary crowns, and did the molds for the permanent crowns which will be ready in 3 weeks. She also bonded my upper front tooth and three of my lower front teeth. They never looked so good, ever. The entire staff is wonderful also. Dr. Gekht and her staff are wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Dr. Gekht takes her times and listens to figure out the problem. I had a cracked tooth and major sensivity issues the first time I went to see her. She did a wonderful job fitting a crown and solving the problem for a very reasonable price. I went back to see Dr. Gekht just this week because I was having "pain" in my fake tooth that I had put in years prior back in NY. I thought she was going to think I was crazy that I could be having pain in a fake tooth but she figured out that the problem was actually with the bite of my bridge and fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. After doing some research for a great cosmetic dentist I chose Dr. Gekht based on reviews. My 14 year old daughter had a chipped front tooth that we already had repaired twice in 2 weeks buy another dentist. Decided not going back to them a third time wasting money.
