    Paella

The best paella and Spanish omelette sandwich I have ever had in the United States... and in Spain for that matter. I am from Spain originally and Xavi's paella is better than mine and on par with my mom's. His aioli is also amazing!! I will drive an hour away just to go try his food!! 5 stars!!

I would give this truck a solid 3.5 stars. I was happy to find something unique. They offered paella, sandwiches, and empanadas. They also had two sauces, a yogurt based sauce with a cool refreshing taste, and a spicy tomato sauce that was very spicy (but nothing too outrageous if you are used to a good spicy bite) but good for dipping. Today's empanadas were spinach and cheese, steak and cheese, and ground beef. We each opted for the three empanadas and one sauce meal deal. It was only $10. We each got a different sauce to try both flavors. It really a great value. I had not realized the portion size of each empanada, they were huge. Neither of us could finish our meal. Overall the flavors were really nice. My daughter favored the beef the most, then the steak, last the spinach. But, they could have been warmer and some of the bottoms of the crust were burnt. I liked that they had bags to carry the food and plenty of napkins and utensils in individually wrapped bags. Plus we had plenty leftover to eat later. Both kids seemed to really enjoy these empanadas, and I am glad we could happen upon a truck that was thinking outside the box as far as typical truck fair. Plus to good portion size made it worth the money, there are plenty of trucks that charge a lot then give you so little. We are hungry people, so we enjoyed.

    Chicken Paella and Catalan sandwich

Having lived in Spain for over 10 years this food takes me home! The paella is delicious! The seasonings and veggies in the rice are so flavorful. The Catalan sandwich with the Jamon Serrano (ham) and tomato on the bread that is warmed to perfection. My daughters favorite is the Tortilla Española. She spent some summers in Spain and she gobbles the sandwich up. The homemade alioli enriches the tortilla just like when it's made in Spain. You can't go wrong ordering anything from here. The food is authentic and delicious. I am sad every fall when the food truck season ends.

The service and food was just okay. The Cuban definitely needed the mustard it came with because there was no flavor to it.

Aventura. Just want a beautiful dinner out? Aventura. I have lost count of how many times I've been here since I moved to Michigan 10 months ago.. and it never disappoints. The wine selection is excellent, I highly recommend the Tempranillo; the sangria is absolutely amazing, perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I recently tried their sangria named "Lila," which has lavender, and it was unlike anything I've had before, truly special. Now, the food, where do I even begin. The paellas are outstanding. My all-time favorite is the Valenciana, but I recently tried the American paella and it is a fantastic option for anyone with shellfish allergies, so delicious and satisfying. For tapas, my top three are the almendras y piña, the pinchos morunos, and the patatas bravas!! order all three, you won't regret it. And the octopus? Incredible. I would come back for that alone. On top of all the amazing food and drinks, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is just as wonderful. I'm already planning my next visit for happy hour with my coworkers. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would not even hesitate!! Aventura is just that good!

The staff are all very personable and welcoming. The food is crazy good. I got the chefs table tasting menu and was quite pleasantly surprised. The first course was a Welsh rarebit (which I've never had before but is kind of like a piece of toast). The bread was perfectly toasted, crispy on the outside and soft (almost pudding like) inside. I think it was sourdough. The Mahon cheese melted on it reminded me of a delightful Croque monsieur. The dollops of mustard/lager sauce were sweet and paired nicely with the savory toast and the bitter arugula. The second course was Parisian gnocchi, which I guess means they are made from pate a choux. They were crispy outside and pillowy within, and sat on some perfect snap peas that were fresh and crisp. The peas were held together in a subtle ramp puree. I don't often get to eat fresh peas in season, and I was shocked that they were so tasty and firm. The third course was a lamb shoulder braised in Membrillo ( a quince paste), served in a ssam style with Kim chi and curry rice. This dish was the one that did it for me. The membrillo gave the lamb shoulder an incredibly deep umami flavor, while also imbuing it with a Carmel burnt sweetness. The recipe didn't use doenjang or gochujang or soy sauce, but got to a similar level of umami. Wrapped with some Kim chi, herbs, and the curry bomba rice in lettuce, it made for a rich and complex flavor bomb in each bite. I was also super pleased that it was a very generous portion. You don't always get that in a tasting menu. The final course was a very delicate bread ice cream, which was made with the membrillo and covered with almond cookie and mint oil. The ice cream was so delicate it was at times almost like marshmallow fluff, and the mint oil really contrasted nicely with the bready sweetness of the ice cream.

We decided to do the four course chef's dinner to try a variety of things. There is also an optional wine pairing, which one of our guests at the table did and loved! I opted for take on the gin and tonic, which was smooth and refreshing. First course was a delicious cheesy toast. The bread tasted like it had just been baked that same day. Next step we had the softest gnocchi, with sliced pepperoni. It was such an interesting combination and very delicious. The main course was a very tender lamb and risotto dish. The lamb was very flavorful. We finished things off with a sourdough ice cream that was garnished with a mint syrup. It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before and it was very good. Our waiter frequently checked in on us, and there are two individual restrooms in the restaurant. I had a wonderful time and I would definitely go back!

We had started off with a mixed board charcuterie board which held an assortment of different cheeses, meats, breads, and veggies. This board was underwhelming; for $20, it felt poor quality-wise. The breads felt stale, and the vegetables were sad and tasted horrible. Putting aside the negative comments and the absolutely blazing campfire behind my seat, my service was amazing. We had Rayna Rose serve us, and she was so kind, friendly, and beautiful. She showed professionalism while providing a comforting tone and attitude to the total environment. While observing her with other tables, I saw that she not only treated everyone with the same kindness and respect but really put her best effort into her work and service. After around 30 minutes of waiting, our entrées came out. I ordered their signature Oak burger, and my sister ordered the sirloin entrée. My burger came out with soggy buns, stale fries that weren't crispy, and ketchup that was average. My sister's sirloin was bland, dry, and the balsamic glaze made the overall dish sour, and not in a good way. We were able to finish the soggy burger as a team, but the sirloin was unbearable. Overall, I give this place a 5/10.
