I didn't have a very good experience with their design consultation. Once I paid for consultation, there was no proper communication on their end and nothing came out of their design consultation. I am not sure what their design looks like but the consultation was not at all the $400 they charge. Update- After my feedback, Darcy reached out saying there was some miscommunication at their end and they are working to fix it . They also offered additional services to make this experience better. I am glad they took the feedback and reached out to fix it. That is definitely a sign they care and want to improve. read more

I was very intrigued by the companies website, booking tools, and Instagram page so I was looking forward to the consultation for 1 kitchen and 2 bathroom renovation I requested. Only to be contacted 30 min before the consultation to ask for my Pinterest boards to be sent to a Cailey and then during the 5-10 min conversation for her to say we signed some new projects so I'll check and see if we can even fit you in. My husband and I had previously lived in a much smaller space, and we were looking for concrete ideas on how to setup things. What kind of furniture to buy. What color schemes worked. Where to put things. The first person they sent out didn't fulfill our expectations. (It wasn't Darcy.) After I wrote a bad review, Darcy contacted me and she said she would personally come out to provide us a free consultation to ensure we got what we originally paid for. I hired Cailey and her team to help me design my new home with furnishings. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and I truly love the way the house looks. It flows very well and has simple, timeless pieces that are versatile and comfortable for my family with 3 small kids. We had a few small hiccups along the way. Some pieces took a long time to arrive (due to covid) and at times I felt the proposal and responses to emails took longer than I thought it would. The cost proposal Simply Stunning Spaces originally sent over was much more money than I had originally hoped. I was able to pair down many items to make it closer to my budget. Cailey was so kind to work with me and provide ideas at a cheaper price. She would also send me exact links of items to purchase that I wanted to buy on my own. Cailey and her team do LITERALLY EVERYTHING. They set up the electrician, delivery, set up, hanging all art and removal of boxes and trash (important to note, you will be paying an additional fee for this--on top of the design fee). You don't have to do anything besides make the choices. Truly, I wish Cailey could have designed every inch and shelf in my home--the only reason we didn't was because of cost. My life would have been so easy and the house would have looked flawless. It still does look amazing, despite the choices I had to make on my own, haha. I purchased a new home last year in La Jolla and although the view and the lot were amazing, the house really needed a lot of work. Let's start with the beginning, my project isn't the easiest to tackle as it's consisted of removing walls, lifting ceilings, having a budget, 2 very stubborn husband and wife and some how Darcy was able to handle it all. We recently purchased a new home and Darcy came out to provide us with a two hour consultation. She was nice enough to schedule me in on short notice, given the fact that I wanted to move things along quickly. Darcy was on time to our appointment, listened to our needs and wants and provided us with great deign ideas for our entire home based on our vision (I used the app houzz to show her my "dream" designs along with puctures and measurements of the existing furniture and decore that must be implemented in our futr home design). She was amazing! She quickly took measurements and video of the areas of our home so that if we considered using her expanded design services , she will be able to provide us with a 3d replica of our home and what it would look like given our deign needs/wants. My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to purchase a townhome in LaJolla. Until we retire and can be there with greater frequency, we have chosen to rent it week by week to vacationers. By Wednesday, she had a thoughtful, professional, beautiful presentation put together with a wide array of choices for some of the bigger pieces. Together, in about two hours, we chose colors, fabrics, sofas, tables, beds, lighting, rugs and not much else. I trusted her eye to pull everything together to complete the look we wanted. I left on Thursday feeling incredibly confident that I had found the right woman for the job. Darcy did not disappoint. My husband and I returned about three weeks later to an absolutely fabulous, beautifully appointed and accessorized beach home! Darcy is absolutely amazing! She uses reliable, professional painters, electricians, and repair people that want to continue to work with her. Aside from her great eye for design and incredible sense of style, Darcy is a very smart businesswoman. She is charming, responsive, professional, flexible and an absolute workhorse. My husband was a little bit dubious that I wanted to hire a decorator rather than simply allow the vacation rental folks to furnish the house. Darcy was such a positive inspiration to work with. She is very patient with hearing a person's vision out (with all the Pinterest boards AND changes that come with said 'vision') and also guiding you in a way that will lead to the best possible scenario. I have a tendency to "have a lot going on" when it comes to decorating and she was so good about being kind but holding the reigns when I needed to focus on narrowing the important aspects of the vision down. She had construction knowledge that I otherwise wouldn't​ have considered and made costly errors on my own (ex: I almost bought a light fixture that wouldn't fit the current 'j box' in the ceiling - I had no idea to even think about that - nor know what a j box was). You will feel comfortable with her and her team as they are on it w/ communication during the entire process. From showroom visits to her coming to our home during every stage, I knew her presence was keeping the renovation crew on point. I appreciated the patience she (and her team) showed us and the respect she had for our home every step of the way. I attended a workshop that Darcy gave recently and did not know what to expect. Darcy was very informative, gave great advice to everyone in attendance and made the entire workshop a fun experience. I learned so many new terms and things to consider when decorating (or in my case a new build). I am still early in my build process, but will more than likely hire Darcy to help with this project. I worked with Darcy. Her design was incomplete - her measurements were wrong and unusable. Her design did not take into consideration structural components to our house - which would have driven up the cost of our renovation significantly. She failed to show up for appointments. She failed to return calls. Unfortunately, she is at the point in her career where she is suffering growing pains and lacks time management skills. I could not recommend her services. I spent $7000 and received a completely unusable design plan. I ultimately fired Darcy (requested a refund of half the upfront money which I have yet to see) and ended going with an architect who could help bring my vision together without the burden of making major structural changes to my home and at a fraction of the cost. Utilizing Darcy was truly the worst decision I have made in our home renovation project. I can't emphasize enough - buyer beware, she is not all that she claims she can be. read more

Having just moved to Pasadena from Las Vegas, recently married and working full-time I really had no clue where to begin on decorating our new home. I was a little hesitant to admit this to my new hubby so I started looking all over the internet for inspiration and found Simply Stunning Spaces. Darcy was an excellent find and the perfect solution to what I was looking for. She was able to show me exactly what my home would look like before we ever purchased a piece of furniture and then gave me a plan for how to implement those ideas on my own. I'm still in the process of getting everything ordered but it's been a huge relief for me just knowing that I'm making all of the right decisions regarding sofa sizes, paint colors, fabric choices, and all of the other 1001 decisions that I had no clue about. The design plan really reflects both mine and my husbands tastes, which was another thing I was worried about because he likes more of the sleek, modern look and I tend to lean more towards the traditional or "transitional" styles (according to HGTV's style guide). We recently bought a new home and wanted to remodel a few areas to get that nice staged and pulled-together look we've seen in model homes and on HGTV. I contacted a few interior designers even for just a consultation but was discouraged with my initial experience. They were either pricey, not available, or would not return my request for a quote. As a result, we decided to tackle the design decisions ourselves, but after a few weeks into the remodel, we started to feel overwhelmed with some of the design decisions we had made. What looked good alone or what we thought would look good did not turn out as expected. I decided once again to seek for help, and this time I decided to contact Simply Stunning Spaces. First of all I loved how it was very easy to schedule an in-home consultation online and the price was very fair, especially after using a Yelp coupon. I was able to schedule an appointment for within a few days. There was great communication and preparation even before the consultation. I really felt that Darcy wanted to come as prepared as she could so that we could make good use of the 2-hour consultation timeframe. Darcy was on time to our appointment, and listened to our wants, needs, and budget. She provided us with invaluable design ideas, more than we can ever use, and opened our eyes to things we never thought about. She even took measurements and gave us precise details on recommended dimensions for furniture and accessories. Overall, it was a great experience and I wish I had known about Simply Stunning Spaces before we started the remodel. I could tell I would have saved precious time and money. Regarding my review, I tried to impart that my ONLY issue was the difference between what was promoted versus what the real plan was for. While I do not need these specific services, I will say that after having Darcy reach out to try to make it good with an offer for a personal visit from her, at no cost because of my experience, this is clearly something that makes her business worthy of your attention.
