This is one of my favorite lunches to grab. It's only 14 bucks for a pick two and i always picked the yellow curry. It comes with a mixed rice or you can pick a different side if you want. We are experienced with Thai cuisine. We first had it in 1981. My brother speaks fluent Thai for what it's worth. Anyway Mano Thai is one of, if not THE best I've been to. The Tom Kha soup was amazing, even though my rotten daughter had them put tofu instead of shrimp. The spring rolls were fabulous, and came with two dipping sauces. I got fried tofu which we all enjoyed. The rest of us had Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew, and Duck Curry all of which were on point. They said they couldn't reduce the spice level of my duck so I toughed it out. It was at the upper end of my tolerance though. The only flaw was when my wife ordered Larb salad. It only had lettuce and ground chicken that tasted odd. No other vegetables. My wife did not like it. We returned it and got Pad See Ew instead which she really really liked. Portions were big, service was fast and helpful. We finished with mango & sticky rice and it was hands-down the best version of this I've had in 45 years. It had LOTS of coconut cream, black rice, and plenty of thinly-sliced mango, so every bite had all three flavors. So despite the hiccup in the larb I give them 5 stars. read more

When I rolled up at 12:30 on a Thursday there was no parking... but then I found the lot in back! Hooray! My friend had already gotten a table for us. I read about the 50% off pad Thai deal when you check in on Yelp in other reviews so I did that. The first 2 wait people had no idea if they could accept it but the manager said it worked. I have to say though, it's very bland pad Thai and even at $6 for that huge amount, I wouldn't pay for it again. I asked for the mildest curry they had and was directed to the massaman curry and I loved it!! Not spicy at all (and I'm quite sensitive). Great flavor. I hate to do this but I've literally never had a worse experience. We ordered to go at 7:55 pm, Sat 16. The girl that answered was already rude to us from the beginning while we were trying to be polite and put in our order. One of the first things I told her was that I have a seafood allergy and she would still pushed for the fish sauce because "it tasted better". This Thai restaurant has been around for a while. There is one reason I haven't tried it before now. It is right next to David's Kitchen. I finally decided to skip by David Kitchen and give this Thai restaurant a try. The service was slow and our meals didn't come out at the same time so it was a little awkward as someone either sat and watched their food get cold or eat before someone else had their. The on the other hand was good. Yellow curry and Pad Thai were good. The pork was great. The fresh spring rolls were good although could have been wrapped a little tighter. This is one of those reviews where I really wish Yelp offered a half star option. I dined in for lunch with my lovely spouse earlier this week. The first thing we noticed was how cold the dining room was. Looking around most people still had on their sweaters, scarfs, etc. It took 15 minutes before our order was taken. We both went with the lunch special. I chose bbq pork and chicken basil stir fry. 20 minutes or so passed before our food arrived. The flavors were all there but the portions were on the smallish side. My bbq pork tasted and looked like it was prepared some time earlier. The basil chicken was very good and fresh tasting. This is an outstanding locally owned restaurant that serves some of the best authentic Thai food in the SLC valley. I had the yellow mangoes curry and it was more than plentiful and very rich and delicious. I tried a few other dishes, such as the calamari (which has been some of the best I've had in quite awhile). So I found this place through a friend that is a huge foodie. I love it! This is now my go to Thai restaurant. Let them know if you are vegan or gluten free or even vegetarian they have a ton of choices. So far my favorite Thai place. The ladies are always nice and gracious. Always such nice service. The decor is pretty simple and as expected lots of Thailand culture. The funny thing is the space is decent but never packed. It's right next door to a chinese restaurant but there is definately no comparison. So Thai food is one of the hottest foods in the world. Some places range their heat level from 1-10 or 1-5 but here its mild - medium - hot. I order medium and well it is spicey! I like a little spice but if you are not into spice stick with mild. And if you cant get enough heat like your taste buds were blown off in a foreign war type thing then go for hot. Ok so I've only been here a few times since my friend went a month ago and here is what I've ordered and loved.... Potstickers! Now yes they dont seem any different than potstickers from any other place until.... the sauce! OMG this sauce is amazing. I seriously want a gallon of this stuff. Drunken noodle stir fry. So good the flat rice noodle with mixed veggies and your choice of meat. Crisp veggies. Soft noodles. Brown sauce with your choice of heat. What more could you ask for? Maybe some sweet pineapple fried rice perhaps? Yummy fried rice with onions, tomatos, pineapple chunks, egg and cashews. So good... like I can gorge myself on this forever. Curry lover? They have like 7 different curry dishes. I've had the yellow curry which was delicious and to my friend Cynthia who cannot handle spice at all. She said it was spicy. But honestly if you mix it with the rice it comes down a whole lot to a perfectly mild dish. Also reheats on the stove well. I don't have a microwave so anything that cooks up on a stove and doesnt taste like cheap leftovers is a win for me. My friends swear by the cabbage soup and the Tom Kah coconut soup. I've never tried them. But I did try the mango sticky rice. Holy moly batman! Rice for dessert what? Oh yeah! Sweet baby jesus you must make room for this totally shareable dessert. Its purple rice and I think wild rice mixture with sweet coconut milk warmed up with half a fresh mango on top. All the dishes are served family style so order to share and cool off the spice with a delicious Thai iced tea. read more

Pad Thai is the dish I always get when I dine at any Thai restaurant for the first time. It helps me determine their quality of food based on their noodles, sauce, and amount of protein. PLUS! I'm not a fan of crushed peanuts, but I did notice it was missing from the plate. Half the plate consisted of bean sprouts and very little chicken. Bland, had a strange almond extract flavor throughout - as tho a dessert had gotten too close, or accidentally mixed with the noodle dish, and small portion overall. Ordered for carryout. Terrible food. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and fresh spring rolls. Received disintegrating rolls that fell apart with the first bite. Loosely wrapped. Pad thai was heavy in fish sauce. Received no chicken but full of egg. In addition I asked for spicy and received none. Because there was no spice to offset the abundance of fish sauce and egg, it was awful. The noodles were also old. Last the peanut sauce was a thin vinegar with peanut flakes accompanied by aioli!!! We randomly stopped here, because I've been craving curry and we were in Salt Lake for the day. Atmosphere was authentic and quaint, the music was even calming and pleasant. We ordered pot stickers for the appetizer. They were really good, the sauce was tasty and the pot stickers were nice size and crispy. I ordered the red curry and it was big enough for two so I had extra to take home for left overs which I love. It was super flavorful and probably some of the best red curry I've had. My husband ordered honey chicken and it was some of the best breaded chicken we've had in a long time. The breading was nice and crispy and it felt like there was a lot of chicken and not an overpowering amount of breading. My husband also had enough to take home some left overs and he likes to eat so I think the prices were perfect for the portions we got! She brought out a big bowl of sticky rice for us both to share and it was perfect, and when we asked for boxes she also brought us another serving of white rice to take home for our left overs. Where the Thai food I have had is authentic and comes By the plenty via food cart and hole in the wall nooks throughout all of these towns. I have tried tons of different places since Moving here and am continuously disappointed. A few years ago we gave this place a shot and since Then I have never looked back. Where to start. This charming restaurant is simple but relaxing and very welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and well versed on the menu. I should mention that I live in Los Angeles and have eaten a lot of very good Thai food. This wonderful place puts them all to shame. From the Tom Ka Gai to the Pad Thai was perfection. The aromas and spices were present, but not overpowering. Thai Tea was also very good. Whenever I return to visit family I will easily suggest this as a great family dinner spot. I've eaten here monthly for the last few years and its hit or miss. I always order the same thing- curry puffs and drunken noodles. Today I ordered my usual to go over the phone. First the good- excellent service- everyone is super nice. The restaurant is clean. The food is always hot and it always seems fresh. Curry Puffs are delicious and crispy. Second the not so good- the noodles are inconsistent. sometimes there are barely any veggies, sometimes there is a ton of broccoli, sometimes the noodles are overcooked and fall apart, the noodles have never, ever been spicy- even when i have asked for them to be spicy. Today I order noodles and they are TOO.SPICY.TO.EAT. and I looooove spicy. (I wasnt asked what level spice i wanted-never have been asked) $40 wasted. This makes me more angry than anything. This is solid Thai food. It's not "knock your dang flip flops off" Thai, but everything we had was solid. The Pad Thai had a nice kick and was flavorful. The Thom Ka Gai was very good, and contained cabbage which I thought was a nice touch but my wife wasn't crazy about. The pineapple fried rice was exactly what you would expect. The barbecued pork was good but I'm not sure I was expecting, as it was grilled, sliced pork further cut into thin strips and served with a soy based dipping sauce. My ignorance of what it should or not have been should be noted. The pot stickers were just ok but not horrible. I liked the soy based sauce with cilantro better than the actual pot stickers themselves, and I used it to liven up my Pad Thai a little. If given the chance I would try this place again. read more
