While headed west on Interstate 10 from Florida to Texas, my truck overheated about 20 miles west of Baton Rouge. Not knowing anyone in the area, I called AAA. When the tow truck driver arrived he dropped me off at Simpson's. Not knowing much about cars, or even why mine overheated, I was completely at their mercy. They had every opportunity to rip me off but they didn't. They diagnosed the problem within minutes and were able to replace my broken radiator within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable charge. Don't you hate it when you're crossing that long bridge across the Atchafalaya Swamp, and your car suddenly overheats? We had a LOT of trouble with AAA, one error in the comedy being that they offered to tow the car to a place they recommended, Simpson's Service Center (it's now called 360 Automotive Solutions). You clowns want us three to sleep in the car? We limped to the motel in Port Allen, and the following morning, I drove the car to 360 to get it fixed. Most of the Yelp reviews said that this shop just outside downtown Baton Rouge is a good place for car repairs at a fair price. I experienced that too. The neighborhood on old US 190 is a little iffy, but the place itself is well taken care of, both inside and out. Many bays to work on cars. Waiting room with TVs and free wi-fi, the chairs are a little hard after a while. They did not try to sell me more than the car needed, they found the problem and fixed it. It took at least an hour longer to do the job, and we were a little late leaving the motel, but the part went to the wrong wholesaler, not 360's fault. I had a good experience at 360 Automotive Solutions, aka Simpson's Service Center. And I recommend it if you find yourself with car trouble. read more

I can not give a 5 only because I may never use them again but only because i am not from baton rouge. My one time experience occurred last week where I was recommended the shop while passing through town. My car was running funny and I stopped by in the morning to have them inspect it. Unfortunately the mornings are when everyone comes by to do oil changes and you may not get anything done with your car. I waited 2 hours before someone told me that my gasket near my timing belt was about to fail. They told me it would take 3-4 hours to replace. Now with a little coaxing since i was not from the city and needed to get to Houston by the evening, they were able to replace it within the next 2 hours... so I was able to leave after lunch. I can say they did show the southern hospitality you do not find anywhere else. They offered food/drink since I hadn't been able to grab anything when my car started to malfunction. I would definitely recommend this place for any service. GO to their website for coupons. The inside of the center is very clean, they offer free wi-fi as well. My car broke down on Highway 10, just outside of Baton Rouge. It was very scary, but I had roadside assistance with my insurance. The agent got me a tow and recommended Simpson's. I did not know anyone in the area (I had never even been to Louisiana before) and really, this could have been a very terrible experience. My car was towed to Simpson's, and my husband got up early to go talk to them. It turned out the repair was a little more expensive than we wanted (but when does anyone want to pay repair bills?) but it was fair. What really struck me about this place was how they were on a personal level. They knew we were traveling and they made my car repair a priority so we could get back on the road. (It was finished by around 2:30PM and it was a labor-intensive repair) The woman who worked in the office was the daughter of the original owner. (A picture of Mr. Simpson hangs in the waiting area) She spoke of her father with great love, how he was a fair and honest businessman and mechanic, and how she just wanted to continue the same. I have to say that she has done this successfully. I really want to emphasize that we were in a vulnerable position, and we HAD to get the car fixed in a city in which we didn't know a soul. It is more than wonderful that we encountered a trustworthy family owned business to do the repair. Thank you. read more

When I couldn't get the dealership to service my vehicle, Don & the crew came to my rescue. Do to the Covid19 virus and being in high risk categories & couldn't risk sitting in a crowded waiting room for any length of time. Don called me when a mechanic became available, promptly addressed my issue and got me going in a minimum amount of time & a reasonable price. What more could I ask for! Great customer service! One of my car lights went on and I took my vehicle to Simpsons. They didn't take forever to see the issues of the car nor did they push for a costly ''check'' on the car. The staff was very friendly and professional. Do NOT bring your vehicle to this place..... Not only do they make promises they cannot deliver, but they also do unauthorized work and bill you for it. The new owner initially promised he would have one of our vehicles ready by a certain time. Not only was it not ready, but no one called to let us know it was not going to be ready. I understand that sometimes shipments are late, but at least let the customer you promised know that there is an issue.... and "I didn't know the delivery had not come in until you called and I checked" only makes you look more incompetent. Also, the original quote magically had some additional costs for work that no one had called and asked us about because "it HAD to be done" according to them. If they had called and explained the problem, I am sure that we would have approved it, but at least give us the option of knowing and making that decision! And naturally, when they said it was ready to be picked up, the new owner was nowhere to be found. One of our friends advised us to go somewhere else, but we didn't listen because they had done decent work in the past. Unfortunately, that seems to have been when the previous owner was there. The new owner, Vu Nguyen, is definitely dropping the ball and ruining the reputation of this place. read more
