WTF is with these reviews. This is why we don't deserve nice things. Sin Dulce is the best Mexican bakery (accent on Mexican - the breads and modest sweets) in the area, with a surprisingly diverse and ambitious selection for such a little place. And that lonely little grill near the door, which seems like an afterthought, produces THE most authentic Mexican street food in the county. Get tacos if you must, but their sopes are homemade, and the grillman is a wry, kind fellow who puts his heart into it (the lady at the counter is gruff). Suggested meat: cabeza (it's basically cheek meat, and so delicious). You need to order food from the bakery counter, which is inefficient, but oh well. The only place as good is their other branch, in Port Chester. Note: If you go to a place like this for luxe occasion cakes, expecting them to be yuppie-to-die-for (or Dominican fancy) you amply deserve your disappointment. That's not what this is. read more

When we went for pick up we were told the cake was not prepared. It seemed the bakery staff had no idea there was a pick up order. Once they realized they had an order they scrambled to get one together and said "if you want you can wait one hour and a half, if you want." The staff is so rude and dismissive. The staff is super friendly which is the only reason I gave any stars in the first place. I ordered quesadillas which I genuinely thought would be impossible to f up. I was wrong, they gave an open tortilla with cheese and lettuce which was extremely off putting. I also ordered a carnitas burrito which wasn't bad but had literal bones and gristle all through it. You'll need an iron will to make it to Sin Dulce, since it's at the end of the 1 train, and then a bus ride away in Yonkers. If you make it, the effort will be rewarded with some of the most authentic Mexican street eats in the Big Apple. While a decent bakery in it's own right, the food is amazing. The tortas, huaraches, and tacos are the real quality. For a little over $5 you get a heaping helping of your choice of meat (carne asada, pollo, al pastor, etc.) topped with beans, queso, avocado, lettuce, salsa, and salsitas. Amazingly good. There is also a full selection of baked goods, latino style, though they aren't the best in the city. The digs are very simple and very small, but the food is worth the trip. read more

I have been buying bread from this place many times and it's delicious. There quesadillas are out of this world. Anything you order from the menu it's delicious. The times I have gone the staff always give me an attitude and they work very slow. They took 30 minutes just to give me a cup of coffee and a pastry. If you want your pastries to be in a cardboard box so it doesn't get ruined they will charge you extra for the box. I have never had experienced this with other bakeries paying extra for a cardboard box! Which this should be provided for the costumer. I have been going to this place and a lot has changed since they started. Do I recommend this place, yes only because there food and pastries are delicious but the service is horrible. OK, so I don't speak a lick of Spanish which doesn't help me with this place. I still love it though! We've purchased so many different tres leches cake from here and will continue to do so. I love their bacon egg and cheese, because it's made right in front of you. I've also had their Mexican food which is tacos, burritos, sandwiches, and the like. As a Hispanic I hate to say this but he staff there is rude and have no sense of respect. They keep you waiting in line as they attend to their own people (Mexicans) don't mean to sound like I'm throwing the race thing but this is a primarily a Mexican neighborhood and totally ignore you as if you don't. I went here with my family and we ordered tacos de lengua, burrito vegetariano and burrito al pastor. The burritos were cold, the meat was dry and the vegetarian burrito was just nopales, lettuce, avocado and mushrooms wrapped in a tortilla. read more

I bought a tres leche cake here which I highly recommend. A good size for $23 and also a good value. Very tasty. The cake was moist with chunks of fruit inside. The "topping" on the cake was 100% real whipped cream which is a rarity these days. All in all I was impressed by the quality and flavor and would definitely return.
