The decor may be spartan but the food is incredible! The only complaint I had about our experience was a boisterous table... a very noisy table... combined with too much bare concrete walls made the noise echo and make quiet conversation with my companion virtually impossible. But the party soon left and we were able to enjoy both the meal and the conversation. She had the Pollo a la Barbacoa, or what might be described in French as Coq en papillotte. The chicken had been cooked with a delicious blend of spices and seasoning inside a paper sack. Just cutting into the little envelope of goodness filled our table with an amazing aroma. The chicken was barely hanging on to the bone and was simply delightful. Meanwhile I tried the Peruvian lomo saltado which was even better than the barbacoa. I was having trouble deciding between the Steak Mexicana and the lomo saltado, so I asked our waitress what she would recommend. With a bright flash in her eyes and a big smile, without hesitation she suggested the latter, and man was she right. At least I think she was right because I can't imagine any dish on the menu being any better than what I ordered. I might have been a little disappointed that it was described as being served over a bed of french fries, but when it arrived in front of me and I tasted it, the fries were a perfect vessel to absorb the sauce. Wow was it good. It isn't' a fancy place, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better meal anywhere. We are lucky to have this place as well as Jalapenos within a quarter mile of each other. Other than the decor, if I had to describe the difference between the two I'd generalize by saying that Jalapenos is more a Mexican/Spanish place with a great Tapas menu and Paella on the menu. While Sin Fronteras is more a Mexican/Central/South American vibe. Whatever you call them, you'll get a great meal at either place. read more

Restaurant was not busy since we went at an odd time, and during a pandemic with 100 temperature. However, the food was fresh and excellent as was the service! Having visited several times we haven't encountered a dud from the menu yet. Not exactly your standard "Mexican Restaurant" fare as it has a lot of influences from Central American regions. They take great pains to make everything fresh and you can taste it in the dishes. The owner is happy to chat with you about the ingredients and the emphasis on the regional sauces. The salmon and tuna dishes were particular noteworthy on our last outing. Do yourself a favor and drop in for dinner. Everyone we have introduced to the place are now return customers. read more

This place is fantastic!!! First time visiting today, we were treated to a grand welcome from the owner himself. My wife had the carne asada burrito, leaving me to try the Hondurian specialty, the Baleada. It was awesome. The atmosphere is cozy, the wait staff was extremely friendly, and thankful for our business. We've traveled Forest Ave for many years, and never knew this jewel existed. Glad we found it. OMG delicious! We came here because of the Yelp reviews, but we were skeptical when we pulled up to the place. I had a a margarita (very fresh), and Chile En Nogaga. I picked this entree because I had never something with that description. I worried about the raisins, but thought I would give it a try. It was so delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed it. He had the Peruvian Lomo Saltado, which was equally enjoyable. We talked to the owner for a bit, and he could name every ingredient in the meals. It goes to show how much thought goes into each recipe, and that they use only the freshest ingredients. For dessert, we had a banana dish - the name I cannot find right now. He doesn't usually like dessert, but he certainly ate his share of this plate! So good. We try not to repeat restaurants because Annapolis has so much to offer, but it is safe to say that we will be back here! read more

Very nice mole enchiladas. If you're from California, be sure to ask for food to be spiced up, especially the salsa that comes with the initial tortilla chips. The food is not traditional Mexican or Tex-Mex. It's central American and features an unusually large selection of central American dishes with lots of seafood. read more

We passed this place by numerous times because of the location but now that we've eaten there we will definitely be frequenting it. I went there August 2013 for the first time. The owner says the outdoor deck has been there just a month. The place was jumping because the food is excellent. Had dinner there a second time on September 13, 2013. I arrived around 5:30pm and watched the place fill up as I was enjoying my dinner. Friendly fresh fun fantastic food. Guacamole is smooth and creamy. Give it a quick squeeze of lime and you experience perfection. The salads are crisp and large portions. The blackened salmon could have had a bit more heat. We have eaten here many many times including hosting many celebrations with friends and family who instantly become repeat fans. Came here when I was visiting Annapolis. Food was good. Drinks were a little flat. Service was good. We are vegetarians, and I ordered guac, chille rellenos, chimichangas. Guac was so, so.... Visiting the Annapolis area this weekend... Scanned Yelp for dinner tonight. The strong reviews and cozy pics for Sin Fronteras lured us in. It was packed, which is usually a good sign! We waited 5 minutes at the bar, and enjoyed delish salted margs on the rocks and great homemade chips and salsa (If you like it spicy ask for the habanero salsa!). After we were sat we shared the three-meat fajitas! Ample for two and so flavorful! The green avocado cilantro sauce that it came with was on point too! Owner came to our table, to check on us and talk about his lovely restaurant. I always love that. Next time we are in town we WILL be back! read more

Bang for your buck this is a top 2 restaurant in the area. The food is some of the best latin cuisine around, done very quickly, and with amazing service. The pork chop dish and chichirones verde are both top notch dishes and their ceviche is awesome and very fairly priced for the amount you get. read more

Full disclosure, I love Sin Fronteras. We used to always get carry out for lunch when I was working right around the corner, and the food was always wonderful. My personal favorites are the Cuban sandwich, and the Torta Mexicana (especially chorizo con huevos). In both cases they are served on bread similar to a baguette, which, while not traditional, is still very good. Both are also served with fries. Also good are the fish tacos, tajaditas, and baleadas, though the 2 sandwhiches were usually my go to choice for lunch. As it was always lunch when I've been, it has never been busy, though I've heard it can be so for dinner at times. The staff is always very friendly and the service it quality. Many times when we've been in one of the owners has been there and he always makes sure to welcome us, and stops by our table when we choose to eat in to make sure that everything was ok. I highly recommend a visit to Sin Fronteras. The parking is a bit odd, the location not the best, but the food is worth the visit. read more

Being from California, this is not the best latin food I've had in my life, however it is the best I've had in the Annapolis area. The Ceviche, Pollo a la barbacoa, Chicharron en salsa Verde, and the Seared Tuna are my favorites from the menu, although I've had quite a few other dishes that were good as well. Food wise, the only thing I would improve upon is their chips, which are very heavy and greasy. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy the restaurant is and what room you're seated in, but it's never been awful. My friends have reported inconsistencies with the strength of the Margaritas here, I've always found them to be quite strong enough! read more

I go for the guacamole which is fresh and full of flavor. Everyone I've ever gone with have loved their dishes whether they were familiar with the menu or just picking a random item. The clientele is varies greatly between those just looking for a bar, just craving some tex-mex (chips and salsa sorts), and people looking for an authentic latin american menu for nostalgia's sake. Next to a less-than-welcoming liquor store that guards its parking spaces but worth the hassle. Oh, and as mentioned in other posts, the owner has checked in at my table every time. I have brought friends back with me to Sin Fronteras and have heard positive comments from them as well. The food is fresh and the dishes are appropriately spiced. Finally found a place with a variety of authentic options. We tried the Honduran-style plantains, tajaditas, and they were excellent. For the entree, we split the chile en nogata, a mildly spiced ground beef dish stuffed in a poblano pepper and smothered in a walnut sauce. Loved it.
