There's a new shave ice place in Waikiki on Kalakaua in the Twin Fin Hotel. They only have eight flavors and they all come with ice cream in the middle of the bowls. The flavors are unique. We got the Wanted $10. It has mango and guava with li hing syrup. It's topped with condensed milk, mochi balls and mango boba. It's their most popular flavor and I can see why. The flavors blended nicely and there was vanilla ice cream in the center. The syrups were on the sweeter side, which I like. Their syrups are all natural, which means that sometimes it can be tart. Their syrups are on the thicker side, so it didn't saturate to the bottom of the bowl. You can ask for more syrup. It's a grab and go place. They do have four tables on the outside that you can sit at and enjoy your shave ice.

Sin-Ice-Stir was a great opening night stop. The space had a cool speakeasy vibe, and the Hurst Knoll Rye was a standout -- smooth, flavorful, and a perfect pour for the night. My wife was also able to order a virgin shave ice, which made it an easy win for both of us. Fun concept, good execution, and definitely worth checking out again.

Right across from the beach, curated menu of shaved ice combinations. Friendly staff, outdoor seating available. Shaved ice was very good but a bit more on the sweeter side with the condensed milk if that's your jam!

During a morning walk, noticed the new shop and returned later that night to give them a try. The menu shows what appears to be their standard menu and then a monthly seasonal flavor menu. After asking for recommendations, ordered Wanted (mango and guava li hing). I liked the flavors of the syrup. As another reviewer noted, the syrups are thick so it didn't penetrate throughout the shave ice. Was supposed to come with mochi and mango boba - no boba on ours. Ice cream on the bottom. Good, overall. Appears to still be a soft opening. Wondering if their menu will expand in the future so one can choose their own flavors.

We stopped by for shave ice and weren't disappointed! I got the Aloha Colada, and my husband got the Shark Bait. Both were delicious, refreshing, and the portions were huge. My only complaint is the tables were really sticky. We'd definitely come back!

Absolutely life changing stuff. I can never eat dessert the same again. It makes me want to burst into song. *That's* how good it is.

The Wanted had a nice li hing flavor without the strong artificial flavor and the mango flavor had some fresh mango shavings too.

On the way back to the car we saw it again and decided to try the Strawberry Bingsu. Our party shared the bowl and loved it so much we decided to also try the Mango Bingsu. It was the perfect amount of fruits and sweetness to cool us down in the muggy afternoon weather. Good service. Clean dining area. Cute decor. Wish we had more time to try other desserts but we will definitely visit again when we're back in town!

Standard generous portion for a bingsu location, notably generous for an Ala Moana location. The location itself was free of insects despite being on a ground floor location with sugary desserts everywhere. Meh: The $14 (including 15% tip) dessert tasted too light and ice-like and appeared more translucent (rather than opaque white) than expected, leading me to think the milk was watered down, which may be how the establishment can make up the cost for the portion size while maintaining a spot in Ala Moana, especially given milk prices in Hawai'i, even if you're buying from Costco or direct from farmers. Also, tables were not cleaned after each party departed; that transparent puddle on your table might not be condensation and may instead be drool drops from the toddler who sat there before you. Overall: Good (not outstanding) experience. Knocked off 2 stars for combination of suspected diluted milk + unclean tables.

The good news is that it moves pretty quickly. The wait really begins after you place your order. This location is incredibly busy from open to close, especially in the mornings. I visited several times during my week in Waikiki, and every morning it was consistently packed. I waited anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes for our food and coffee each visit. Also, be aware that the coffee and food are brought out separately, so don't expect everything to arrive at the same time. The space itself could really use a remodel. Since it's both a café and a retail shop, there's very little room for customers waiting on orders. It gets extremely crowded, making it difficult to find a comfortable place to stand while you wait. Despite the wait and the cramped space, the quality of the food and coffee keeps me coming back. If you have a little patience, it's definitely worth it.
