She has a high level of integrity and is always striving to learn as much as she can about the new laws and practices for both real estate and property management. Not only did I work with Tiffany prior to switching careers, I used her to purchase our first home this month. This was not a large sale, in fact I would bet on the fact that it was one of the smallest ones (price wise) that she had dealt with all summer. However, even for such a small sale, Tiffany went above and beyond to help make this sale go through. I was 9 months pregnant and had difficulty making the inspections. Tiffany and her team stepped in to handle things when my husband and I physically couldn't. She checked on our property multiple times to keep up with the long list of inspection items that needed completed before settlement. I knew she was a good agent but this is the first time I had experienced her level of care and detail first hand. My husband and I will forever be grateful to her for making this sale go through during such a busy time in our lives.

Most home owners don't really invest in their property. When we moved in there was a jungle in the front yard. As it got more and more out of control Freedom decided to come out and get it cut out of there and put down grass. This made our lives incredibly easier. They re-did the roof while we lived there. The furnace died in a fireball (maintenance guy who was working on it let us know.) Anytime something went wrong they were there, being proactive always. Even now I think back on how nice everything was with them. My new home while it's amazing to own a house there's a LOT more responsibility to it. When I first moved in I had explained to the staff here that I wanted to get ready for owning my own home and they were super supportive. Whenever we did inspects I always got tips. They LOVE animals, and even made a special exemption for one of our babies that we rescued. I cannot thank them enough for all that they've done for my family and I. I just saw the deposit refund. I had incredible amounts of trouble moving, and even still the new house isn't set up well enough. 2 Days ago the sewer backed up into our basement... Carpeted... basement... @.@. The point is that they were INCREDIBLY generous with the deposit refund, they could have easily claimed a bunch more items for repair and yet they didn't. I couldn't have asked for someone better, and 10/10 would ABSOLUTELY rent from them again!

The communication is consistent, but not overburdensome. Their use of technology is right at the front of the pack. A recent example: my AC went out on a Saturday during the brutal heat wave (110 heat index). Yes, but hear me out…read more I'm not sure that I've heard of any HOA company that anyone has been absolutely 100% thrilled with, so the playing field is already pretty low in that respect. However it's all about the people you interact with, AND how you treat these people. A lot of homeowners go into any exchange with an HOA company with a chip on their shoulder, and it's easy to forget that the folks on the receiving end of this are also human. So. As you read this, you actually might start to wonder why I gave only four stars and not five, and the reason for that is because Sequoia has been a little slow to catch up to the digital age: it took a loooong time for them to stop sending those ridiculous paper vouchers for us to make our dues payments and to also not charge extra fees for taking online payments, so I had to administer a ding for that. Also, they are a bit stringent on their "inspections" - sending nastygrams to people for putting their trash out early because they're going out of town the next day? C'mon, that is NOT going to reduce property value. But I digress... The good part of all this? Our neighborhood's rep, Shannon Cook. Shannon is definitely no dummy, so while I wince to say it I am sure she knows she's probably reviled by some members of our neighborhood just for the very nature of the job she has to do. But what those folks don't know or appreciate is just how well she does it. Several years ago I unwittingly (read: dumbly) volunteered to serve a 3-year stint on the board of directors for our HOA, and in doing so I got a front-row seat to seeing all the things that Shannon does for our community on behalf of Sequoia. She is extremely methodical, very organized, and - as I alluded to earlier - sharp as a tack. Having served that term on the board I came to understand and appreciate just how ignorant, entitled, and downright rude some of my fellow neighbors are. And while the board I served with were on the receiving end of some of that ire, Shannon took the brunt of it....with the patience of a f*#@ing saint. Since then, when listening to some of my neighbors complain about their interactions with Shannon, I realize that in the vast majority of the cases they are entering into those exchanges already in the wrong. So when she responds to them with the facts and the established rules/bylaws, she's immediately the enemy. It's a no-win. What a lot of my neighbors don't see is how tirelessly she works at this job. It is NOT a 9-to-5 job, and she is at every single evening HOA meeting, coming to the neighborhood on weekends to meet with contractors, and responding to communications from community members and her colleagues well outside of normal business hours. Witnessing all this for quite some time and seeing how much time she puts into our neighborhood, I was absolutely floored to find out that our neighborhood IS NOT THE ONLY ONE SHE MANAGES. She is keeping up this same level of service for other neighborhoods as well, so I have no clue when this woman sleeps. So five stars for Shannon acting on behalf of Sequoia, but the caveats from the Sequoia company I called out above make it four.

Unit was completely different in both cleanliness and disrepair from when it was viewed until start of my lease - I was then told that *I* had to submit a repair request. It is the 4th day of my lease and I am unable to park and stay here because I was just notified that a request needed to be made to the condo association for a parking permit. Lease asks the tenant to have a professional cleaning service at move-out, but the condition I was provided is very unacceptable with grease/food stains in kitchen walls, counter is coming apart, almost every single wall has multiple nail holes and large marks, and the dining room light fixture is hanging from the ceiling with wires revealed.
