Dr. Sertich has been seeing members of my family since the early 90's. I have come to know him over the years by seeing him treat loved ones for things like throat problems, sinus infections, and other issues. In the early 2000's, he performed surgery on my younger sister to remove her tonsils. He did an excellent job and she has had no problems since. That being said, when I was told that it looked like I needed to have sinus surgery and correction of my deviated septum - I was terrified. I had never had a surgery before or experience any real pain in my life. I was a big baby about it to say the least. I put off surgery for years. Then, my sinus infections began to re-occur more and more. In 2010, I reach my all-time record. 6 terrible sinus infections in one year, plus awful allergies and congestion in between. I had had enough. I even went a received two other opinions from doctors I didn't know. I just wanted to make sure that everyone was saying I needed it. And I was right. After trying nose sprays, allergy meds, nasal rinses, allergy testing, etc. I knew what needed to be done. I went to Dr. Sertich in the summer of 2011, with a purpose. After that appointment, I sat down with his awesome staff, and we planned a surgery date for August 2011. I was finally doing it! Throughout the whole process, Dr. Sertich made me feel so comfortable. He really gave me all the time and attention I wanted - which was a lot! I had an entire paper full of questions at the appointment the day before my surgery. He kindly and patiently answered them all. He sat me, my husband, and another patient down after our appointments to show how the procedure would work. Everything was very detailed, and I was grateful for that. On the day of the surgery everything went really well. All of the staff at the hospital are great too. Dr. Sertich's brother (also Dr. Sertich) serves as his anesthesiologist. They work great together and they calmed my pre-surgery jitters. The surgery was much easier than I expected, and I was eating normal food and getting around easily within about 5 days. I have heard of people recovering even faster than that! I had my hydrocodone whenever I felt like I needed it, and it was smooth sailing! I was able to call Dr. Sertich and his staff at any time throughout my recovery process. He even returned my call on a Sunday morning! How nice! I felt like he and his staff really cared, and that made my whole experience wonderful! I can breathe so much easier now, and I haven't had any sinus infections since my surgery. I'm hoping that this will end up being a life changing experience for me with less sickness in my life! I'm on the right track! read more

Really...I can't be more emphatic about this...Dr. Sertich's surgery changed my life! I have been suffering from severe sleep apnea for years now and wasn't willing to do anything about it. My wife finally put her foot down when we decided to have our first child. She wasn't going to let me keep her up all night snoring and wheezing and scaring her to death when I stopped breathing. She got a recommendation to see Dr. Sertich from a co-worker and called and set me up with an appointment right away for the next week. My only complaint is that when you go in for appointments, there will be a long wait. Dr. Sertich spends a lot of time with each patient and you could be there awhile. Overall, just go in knowing that it could take awhile, but that it'll be worth it b/c he's really taking the time with each patient to get right to the bottom of anything and everything that could be an issue. His staff is outstanding too. I had a lot of procedures done, but I don't feel he did so many just to do a lot and collect money. He was genuinely able to diagnose all the issues I was having and chose the procedures I would need based on just that...necessity. It's been a week and a half since my surgery and I am a new person. I'd never realized how much I'd been suffering and how much it was negatively affecting my life and my loved ones. I'd been feeling bad for years and had no real explanation. I had a great career, a beautiful and perfect wife, a new home we loved, pretty and new cars, financially comfortable for the first time in 33 years...but the lack of energy and motivation to get through the day had been dragging me down incrementally. I was exhausted and even resorted to anti-depression medication b/c I didn't know what to do. I really wish I'd done this years ago. I'm sleeping through the night. Sleeping so quietly my wife's had to check just to make sure I'm still alive! Now that I'm sleeping, guess what?!? She's sleeping too! I cannot recommend Dr. Sertich enough! Please so see him if you're going through what I was going through. I've suffered from nasal polyps, nasal blockage and sinus pressure for about 15yrs. We looked online and came upon Balloon Sinuplasty. Liked the procedure and treatment. Next was to look for an ENT Specialist. I researched and came across Dr. Sertich in San Antonio, called and made an appt. Unsure if driving 150 miles away was the right choice, but after our 1st appt. it was confirmed that we had picked the right Dr. and staff for my procedure. Dr. Sertich and staff were very patient, professional and explained everything from my CT scan to my procedure to my billing. Signing in with Priscilla and taking in all my info to the Nursing Assessment from Natalie or Jamie to Billing info and all other information with Susie....All very Professional, patient, caring and knowledgeable. Balloon Sinuplasty procedure was done at his office, very quick and painless. Recovery time was a day. Procedure definitely gave me some breathing and sinus relief. Dr. Sertich suggested surgery due to my extreme nasal polyps situation over the past 15yrs. Surgery scheduled and done at North Central Baptist Hospital-amazing staff as well. I had a very similar situation as did another patient (Nicole S). This guy is a thief. He performs unnecessary sinusplasty procedures under the guise of a "conservative approach". I was told I needed the procedure in order for the insurance to approve a lazer surgery on my tonsils. After Sertich billed my insurance for 30k for the sinusplasty,. he then said "oh om sorry the insurance company doesnt cover that lazer surgery..I was livid, I contacted my insurance company and reported him to the texas medical board. To make matters worse he acts like he's this big christian and all concerned with his patients, he's a insurance billing machine and thats it. read more

Dr Sertich is a very admirable dr. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to answer every question that you have until you're satisfied. Which can cause some delay in appointment times. But I know if I need to leave because I'm on my lunch break I just let the office girls know and he comes right in. He is very understanding even tho he is a surgeon he is more than happy if the medical treatment works and you're feeling better! His office staff is superb and they are always so welcoming making it easy to want to go to the doctor, unlike other places I've been before. I went to Dr. Sertich inquiring about a Balloon Sinuplasty, after suffering from seemingly perpetual sinus infections for over twenty years. His team, took such good care of me, I have not had a sinus infection since the procedure. The recovery was essentially pain free and I was able to go back to work within two days. The best part was the realization of what used to be a deep breath is now a regular breath, and because I am breathing better, I am needing less sleep, which equals an extra hour every day. I can't believe I am the first to write a review for this wonderful doc! Have been a patient for years and consistantly received his full attention when he is with me, unlike some docs who are constantly answering phone calls and wisk you in and out so fast you don't know what hit you. I particularly appreciate the doc's constant search for the latest research, procedures, etc. Sometimes docs hang out their shingle and continue to practice medicine the same way year after year. The office is very clean and professional and they provide you with all the information you need during your visit in an easy to understand manner.
