I am finished before I started. I emailed the office with a couple questions, I never received an answer. Yesterday I called to ask 2 difficult questions. 1. DO you take XXX Insurance for Dermatology issues? 2. Is the Juvederm special still on for $399.00 ? Well I was passed around like a Sunday Church Collection basket and left on hold for 20 minutes. I finally hung up called back selected option #5 for the office administrator. I left a detailed message on the voicemail. I get a call back this is Melissa I am working until 8PM call me, no information to my inquiries. I call back at 4PM leave her a message and said instead of Playing phone tag please and answer my 2 questions on my voicemail if I don't answer. NEVER heard back. Receptionists are rude and have no clue what they are doing. Has taken over a month to get a prescription because they did not listen to me or the doctor and sent it to a CVS which the doctor forewarned them they would not carry it at my appt. I later Called and the assured me it did not matter. It also took them over 2 weeks to get " authorization" for my meds from my insurance but when i called My insurance they did not even receive any request until 2 weeks after my appt, which they then informed me i also Did not even need pre approval. This isn't the place you go and expected to get cured if anything i got more problems on my skin , their pills gave me allergies and the cream they gave me made my skin itch. So upset this so called doctor looked at me for 5 min and run out of the room . Not even seemed concerned or being helpful . Why this unknowledgeable people have jobs at health departments ? It is very difficult to get a hold of people in the office for billing and prescriptions.

My visits with Dr. Fabrikant are about 60 seconds long. He hardly listens at all. Fine if he's going to be effective, but I get a call 20 minutes before my appointment while I'm en route saying he no longer takes my insurance. He bills $150 for 60 seconds of his time and that isn't enough? We're in the middle of a long-term treatment plan, and he ditches me just like that. What a f**ked up healthcare system we have, and Fabrikant is exhibit A. read more

Not trans friendly, at least with their intake. No option to list pronouns which caused me to be repeatedly misgendered by staff, and the only options on their intake were male and female (obviously assuming all of their patients are cisgender). Very weird, considering the staff seemed to know about basic trans medicine. as far as dermatology goes I had a pleasant experience but was almost completely overshadowed by me feeling like I was othered by this office for being trans. read more

Dr Saitta is an excellent dr. I accidentally posted a review under the other doctors yelp and Im taking the time to write it up under this account as well because he is really that great. He gave me his full attention and plenty of time. Excellent bedside manner. Very knowledgeable about everything. I came to him with an odd situation and right away he knew all about it and put me at ease. I felt better right away after speaking to him and he even made me laugh. He knew what to prescribe and did it very quickly. He's a great doctor and a great human being. read more

Mallory the PA is great; however the girls at the desk are mostly terrible at this location. One in particular with dark curly hair and a deeper voice was so rude to me from the second I arrived before I even said a word. The front desk really makes this place seem so unprofessional. There are so many dermatologist offices out there, who wants to deal with a grown woman with the attitude of a moody teenager? The Park Slope location is much better and the receptionists are actually mature and professional, so if anything I'd suggest going there or trying another dermatologist all together. read more

I've been on Yelp FOREVER. I believe this is my 1st review for anything ever on this platform. Went there today for a service. Appointment was for 12:30. Was told at 12:40, only after questioning that the room was being prepared for me. At 12:59, again only after questioning and virtually everyone in the waiting room before and after me having been called to be seen that they were going over with the patient before me and not sure how long it would take. Was advised if I have a time crunch, not to book during lunch time. This is the second time that I've paid to Uber there and left without being seen after waiting for more than a reasonable amount of time. I rescheduled for Monday and have asked that the fees associated with me Uber for nothing (because who has all day to sit in a doctor's office) be taken off the cost of the service. If this consideration can't be given, it'll be time for me to find another provider that just doesn't expect for patients to deal with anything solely because they're the provider and we're the patients. read more

The provider spent like 60 seconds with me rushing to get me out of the door, and mind you, I have a very good insurance. I spend more time in the overcrowded waiting area than with the doctor, who was nice but seemed like she just wanted to sign me off as soon as she could. Can I just say, I love you Skin Institute/Dr. Saitta? First, the wait time was always reasonable. No more than 15 minutes. Second, Dr. Saitta went HAM on my horrendous scalp issues and they cleared up fairly quickly-- and he used a procedure this really fancy Harvard dermatologist I see in Chicago now doesn't know about, and he can't get the same results for me that Dr. Saitta did. He also helped me with recommendations for my skin care routine, helped me when I got this crazy rash on my cheeks, would make sure that I'd get a deal on the crazy $$$$ derm Rx's (suggesting coupons, filling from certain pharmacies), and also made me feel like a million bucks every time I sat in the chair. I wouldn't mistake his efficiency (which he is: crazy efficient, gets to the point, understands what you need IMMEDIATELY!!), for carelessness or rushing. Sad to see the reviews are iffy on this place, because I've referred friends to Dr. Saitta and they all have the same experience as me. The PA's are all awesome too. Again. I made an appointment with Dr. Saitta to see if I could finally get my acne (which I've had for over 10 years and has sadly persisted into my adult life) cleared up, as he is supposed to be a renowned acne expert. As soon as I walked into the room, his assistant (without examining my face) immediately said that they decided to give me the "chemical peel," which consisted of her putting a chemical on me, which I then had to wash off MY OWN FACE after 30 seconds (after she had already left the room). Next, Dr. Saitta himself entered and said, again, without looking at me, "For you young lady, I've decided to prescribe 2 creams and a pill" and left the room without touching me/examining my face at all. His tone was incredibly condescending, and he made it very clear he could not care less who I was or why I had come in. I would be surprised if he was in the room for more than a minute total. I finally got the bill...$250 for the visit plus an additional $150 for the "peel." Again, the whole visit was incredibly rushed, lasted for less than 5 minutes, and did not include anyone actually looking at my face. Not to mention the fact that weeks later, my face looks almost identical to how it did when I first walked in. Horrendous..what a racket. I will not be back. read more

I started visiting this office in December after a change in my skin in the summer I began getting breakouts on my cheeks. I made an apt with dr Lisa Gruson. The front desk is always friendly and professional when you call or in person. However it doesn't stop at the front desk, the whole staff is friendly and approachable always a pleasure to go. Dr. Gruson is very nice and comforting non judgemental and makes you feel at ease. After two months my acne has shown significant change and has cleared up. She asks questions and listens to you. Really good place. Full disclosure, I'm a nurse and can be very hypocritical of medical offices and care. But this office was really great. Went to my primary with poison ivy that was getting worse and got some oral steroids. The rash continue to spread so I decided to go to the derm. I called at 9am and they got me in at 940. The office was packed which I view as a good thing. I saw the PA Artie who was extremely efficient and knowledgable. Gave me several different kinds of treatment including injections into the really bad areas, oral meds and a strong cream. Since then my rash has gotten significantly better. This will be my regular dermatologist moving toward. read more

Wow, what can I say, I've been going to Dr Saitta for a few years now very nice Dr. I was having a procedure done prp for my hair I was injected 5 times with a needle 2 workers tried to find my veins couldn't I don't know if they where even qualified to take blood this went on for 40 min. My dogs vet hit the vein 1st time. I jumped up off the chair very nervous and upset. The girl taking my blood told me to reschedule because they couldnt find my vein which was not my fault and made me more upset! The next thing I know the office manager Carlo tells me were giving you a refund don't come back. The way they treated me was upsetting so cold they weren't even interested in correcting what went wrong just said see ya! There making to much money to worry about patient care. read more

I can not say it enough, this office is FANTASTIC. I've been to several dermatologists in the past and never received half of the attention that I received here. I felt as though I was out of options for my acne and hair loss, but decided to schedule an appointment after seeing good reviews for this office, and thank god I did. I had the pleasure of seeing Arthur Haughey and his assistant Leah and I was given a complete regimen for my issues. Mr. Haughey was extremely attentive, listened to all of my questions and concerns and truly took the time to explain everything in detail. I was so nervous that the procedure he mentioned and regimens would cost a lot of money, but every single thing was covered by my insurance. I clearly have a skin tag on my eye lid, and this dumb doctor told me it's a wart, so I like an idiot believed him, and he kept treating it about 3 times, and it wasn't getting smaller, so I started to notice that he was gnna keep ripping me off and pay 30 Dollars each time I come when it was never gnna go away. Went here for constant itchy scalp issues, took three days of allergy testing, was prescribed topical Steroid and that didn't work. Ask the dr numerous times do you think it's lice, he assured me absolutely not. Guess what, it was lice, my whole house has been infected for weeks. Will not be coming back here. read more

Long story short i've been procrastinating to see a specialist because i was scared it was a major issue. Today I had an appointment with Dr Saitta. They are insensitive, dismissive, untrustworthy, uncaring, unprofessional and grossly incompetent. If you're not seeing Dr. Saitta or Dr. Brancaccio, you might as well not go. Dr. Petrosian, is absolutely useless in figuring out what's happening with your skin. The incompetency is mind-boggling. Complete waste of time. When they don't know what's going on with your skin, they'll label it an allergy and slap you with steroidal creams which anyone can get from any internal medicine doctor without going to a specialty practice. They seem to be more interested in charging your insurance for multiple unnecessary visits that will lead you no where. Weeks later, I still have the same skin condition and issues I had when I walked in. If you have a serious dermatological issue, you will get no where going to this place. They're more cosmetic oriented then they are a certified dermatology practice for skin conditions. Save your time and and money and find a doctor who cares about your skin issues and has the tools, capability and experience to figure out what's happening underneath. Otherwise you'll just be fed bullshit going here. I've never gone to a practice before that so blatantly disregarded the symptoms of it's patients. It's more than disappointing, it's pathetic. I was treated by Dr. Gruson and her assistants, Jessica and Stephanie, who are outstanding. They were very kind and respectful in addition to being professional. This was my first visit and I left feeling very positive about my experience which included having two suspicious bumps being biopsied. I had an appointment with Dr. Karp a couple of weeks ago. I arrived 15 minutes early, and waited for almost an hour before they called my name. Dr. Karp spent about 3 minutes with me. She did apologize for keeping me waiting, but said that it was the end-f-the-day buildup, which made it seem like a chronic issue. I honestly have no idea if Dr. Karp is a good doctor or not--3 minutes is not long enough to tell. I will probably not return to this practice. read more

I saw Dr Anna Karp at their Soho office (Perry St) and am so happy that I did. I've struggled with acne for many years and have tried many different medications in an attempt to get my pimples under control. After a pleasant visit with Dr Karp, she gave me samples of a few different medications to try on the morning and at night. After a few days, I could already see results and have been using these medications for the last few months. They really work! They are all courteous and I have never waited more than 15-20 minutes to see a doctor. Beside having full body exams & follow-up exams, I have also had a few procedures done at the office. I met with Dr. Petrosian today. I have never met a more professional, more genuine, more knowledgeable and more caring doctor. It is something that I actually hoped I would meet when I do go to see doctors but until today every doctor I have met in the past only cared about the money, getting you in and out, and asked questions but really never cared about your answers. NOT Dr Petrosian. He was absolutely impressive in almost every way. He was and is what every doctor should hold themselves up to be. He was so professional and so thorough!!!! For the very first time ever I stood there after he left the room with the most amazing feeling I have ever felt after seeing a doctor. I felt extreme relief like I actually had help and not to mention he knew what I had and knew exactly how to help. I was so dumbfounded and literally stood there in disbelief. NO ONE and I mean no one has been able to do this in the past. His genuine concern was just the icing on the cake. If we could have a world of people like this it would be ......WOW.... I just cant really say how happy and blown away I am by this man his demeanor and skills. He truly was/is extraordinary!! Absolute plus for the community!!!! First and foremost this office is unprofessional. Front desk girls have sleeve tattoo as if we're at a bikers club event and they're very unorganized. I had appointment that was booked the same time as someone else and I was kinda forced into giving up my appointment time do to the other patients medical reasoning. I'm lead to believe this office is a circus act with a bunch of clowns running it. To top it off they never follow up with anything. I am pretty sure that I will still follow up with an update, but the time being my impressions of this practise is very favorable. My daughter has a severe case of eczema and I had to find someone quickly. Just finding a practise that is willing to treat medical dermatologic cases vs cosmetologic is already hard enough. I called a bunch of places but I was always checking reviews and those in my neighborhood had shaky reviews. Nevertheless, I called this practise on Monday and got the appointment early for Wednesday. I sat in the waiting room that was pretty packed for at most 3-5 min. The nurse/ assistant saw us first and then she said she would get the doctor. I was prepared to wait and I remember saying o-oh. But Dr. Gruson came in just a few min later. She saw us for a good amount of time. I'd say we got about 10 min for sure and that was quite enough. One thing I wanted to point out, I found this doctor because her credentials are impeccable and she wrote a bunch of papers on various dermatological issue and all were hard and none consisted of vanity types, so when she mentioned studies and what is new and fresh in the medical world, I had comfort in knowing that my baby girl will be okay. I am looking forward to going back to this practice in the future, as a follow up to my daughter's condition and for myself. read more
