This location is a mess. I'm sure they mean well, but I waited for more than an 1.5hrs for my appointment, only to have to spend a week on the phone with various receptionists because one of my prescriptions were never delivered. Every time I spoke to a receptionist, they'd say they'd resent the prescription order and that someone from the office would be in touch the following. That continued day in, day out for a week, only for the seventh receptionist to tell me that I had to book an in-person appointment to resolve the matter. So, I once again wasted the better part of two hours waiting to be seen by a PA (you'll likely never see an actual doctor), who once again prescribed the medication, only this time to have my insurance deny it because they thought it had already been fulfilled because the PA forgot to include any notes with the prescription. So, I had to pay out of pocket for something I should have already had, as well as an copay to boot. read more

Had the worst experience with PA Nicoloff! I came for a chemical peel and was told they didn't have the supplies to perform it AFTER they did my intake and had me wash my face. In addition, this provider was pushing me to take oral medications including Acutane which has terrible side effects and isn't appropriate for someone my age. My skin is in great condition and just needed a little resurfacing for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I still had to pay for a new patient consult even though they weren't prepared. $250 down the drain for nothing. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere! read more

I had an appointment at 6:10 PM and they close at 7 pm, I confirmed it 3 different times that day and the front desk asked for my insurance information. Everything was set. I get out of my exam and I'm on my way to the clinic. I try to call them multiple times since I was running about 5-10 minutes late and no one is picking up the phone. Absolutely no one. Finally someone answers (who wasn't even at the clinic) and mentions that they don't take new patients past 5 pm... I tell him that the clinic confirmed this appointment with me. He says if they're not answering even before closing time it's likely that they left early for the day if "it was slow." So upsetting, why confirm an appointment in the evening with me then? This clinic closes at 7 pm. I get there and it's completely closed way before 7 pm. Extremely disappointing. I needed to come here for a treatment for a wound I have because I'm traveling out of state and only have health insurance in NY. I wish I would have known they don't actually stay open until 7 pm like they claim they do so that I could have gone anywhere else. This could have been avoided if they were honest with me when on the phone with me earlier in the day, and maybe didn't advertise that they stay open until 7 pm when they clearly do not. I commuted to this location for absolutely no reason and called 5 times before the start of my appointment and nobody answered. read more

I've been a patient at various locations as they grew for years. I've had overall decent experiences with the providers here and find it convenient because you can always get an appt. at one of the locations. My main complaint is with the front desk here at the Bushwick location. On two different visits I felt the person was very rude. As I sat in the waiting room recently I witnessed this receptionist telling a patient who was there for an appt. that they no longer accepted her insurance. The delivery was very rude and the tone was as if the person had done something wrong. Another patient said they were legally blind and couldn't read the paperwork. They were told to come back another day with glasses. The person said "blind" and then the receptionist told to just sign it without reading and no one offered to go through it with the disabled person. The rude person seemed to be the one in charge. The other person at reception was polite and kind and seemed to be taking direction from the other person. read more

This place is a SCAM!! Do not come here unless you want to random charges showing up on your bill. Also major discrepancies between their bills and what they submit to insurance. They tell you they're not charging you for something and then it shows up as $130. This happened to me with Dr. Andrew Perantau at the Sullivan St location. I met with Tinley Chen there for my appointment. I went in to discuss my skin condition which was for some scars due to acne. She was not friendly. in short, she was rude and VERY annoyed that I had questions about the products I was using and how I was managing the scarring. She provided a solution which was to stop using all the products I was using and to use a lightening prescription along with spf, a basic cleanser, and moisturizer. I explained to her that my skin was typically prone to breakouts when I do not double cleanse--that when I do not double cleanse, I can see dirt on my cotton pad from the toner. She rolled her eyes and was annoyed and said if I keep rubbing my skin "stuff is always going to come out." I tried to explain to her that I was concerned i'd break out if I didn't clean my skin with the normal products i've been using. she just kept going back to just use the stuff she's recommending. I am fine with that but she did not need to look annoyed or sigh throughout our 10 minute conversation. To explain my typical skin conditions, I told her i will sometimes get white heads under my eye area and she was annoyed that she thought i said i used eye cream there. i corrected her and said i don't because i break out if i put cream there. she was deeply annoyed so i stopped and asked, Sorry am i annoying you? I think it is normal to ask questions because i'm paying for this visit. after a long silence we ended the conversation and without looking at me saying goodbye she left the room. It is uncalled for to make a patient feel like they are wasting the doctor's time. In disbelief, midway through our encounter I could not believe how unprofessional she was at deescalating the situation. I most certainly will NEVER be back here. Save your money and even if the doctor is useless, you can leave an appointment with a pleasant encounter--just not here. A patient with a skin problem on her face is already coming in self-conscious. the least you could do is be kind. This was a waste of time and a waste of money and a waste of my energy. I will say tho that the assistant Emily was very kind and helpful. I felt a little better for her private apology on Tinley Chen's behalf. The receptionist never really know what they're doing. I am self pay and every time I come in they ask me where my referral is? If I didn't remind them that I'm self pay they would refuse service at the time of my apportionment. I've seen the same thing happen to other patients while waiting in the reception area. I've had 3-4 treatments and there is always confusion about how much my treatment costs, yet it's the same price every time. Again I have to remind the receptionist of the price to charge me. I arrived early for my appointment and the one nurse who is taking patients back was late. I only come back here because my treatment is not that hard to administer so the poor service and lack of organization is enough to put up with. Heard many patients waiting in treatment room call for the nurse because they've been waiting so long!! read more

A little disheartened by my experience here the past few months. I sent multiple emails through their website asking how I can get in contact with my derm due to my insurance not covering a prescribed medication and needing a different medication. After waiting over a week and trying again, still nothing. This led me to having to make a telederm appointment. I noticed there was no link sent but I waited until the time of the appointment expecting it to appear in my inbox a few minutes before but - it didnt. When I called the office they had no idea how to resolve the issue which inevitably caused me to no-show the appointment. I enjoyed my first visit with a Dr. who i spent a lot of time researching only to find out she would be leaving the practice in a week. My 2nd in person appointment was with a PA-C who was nice but had to be prompted to look again and treat a dermatitis rash in plain view on my face that I came in for. The meds she prescribed were not covered by my insurance which I only later found out by standing in line at the Walgreens after work for 40minutes. That may sound like a stupid problem but when you get in a fight with your spouse because you're hangry and no one has made dinner AND you have to pay the sitter overtime from your downsized pandemic salary, it matters. I dont claim to understand how the health care system works but I have experienced doctors offices that prioritize client care and research these things for the patient before leaving the office, and communicate with each other to make sure the patient can get their meds and their questions answered without hiccup. Aside from that 2nd visit, the attending nurse was visibly bored, sighing heavily, looking around, anxiously tapping her foot. I tried to make my questions as brief as possible (5-10min max) but it was a sad reminder as to why I've turned to alternative therapies these past few years. Acne isnt simply a skin condition, it takes a big emotional toll. Dermatology offices just feel....kind of cold and lacking in humanity. I really would like to take this review down because I WANT to like this practice, its easy to make an appointment, conveniently located and it gives me no pleasure putting anyone on blast but I really think that their front desk staff needs to be either paid a better wage for the challenging interpersonal skills I've suggested above as well as to incentivize them so THEY feel valued and excited to help the patients visiting their practice. read more

The worst practice I've ever been to. Despite making an appointment I was still asked to wait for over an hour. Front desk couldn't even properly verify my insurance. The doctor barely took a look at me and suggested that I see someone else because of my preexisting medical conditions (which they were aware of prior to me coming in). I've had a great experience with this office. Never wait more than a few minutes, cold refreshments in the lobby, and very clean. My prescriptions are sent promptly and never any issues at the pharmacy. The staff is knowledgeable and my skin issues were resolved in a matter of weeks. My only gripe would be the amount of seemingly unnecessary follow ups they have you schedule. I had a good experience at the actual location. My experience was bad when I got to my pharmacist. I was told only 1 of 2 prescriptions were sent. I was on the phone playing tag with several different cues to speak to someone. I finally selected billing and was transferred to where I had my appointment after 45 mins. They said they sent over the prescription and the pharmacist said again that he didn't receive anything. It's frustrating to have spent so much time trying to get in contact with someone. And sit here waiting even more time for the pharmacist to receive if ever the prescription. read more

Went there for a skin infection. I saw Dr. Choudhury who prescribed me steroids. He initially told me that i was gonna use two meds, but either he forgot or IDK what happened, but the pharmacy only got one. Also my infection has gotten worse. Moreover, they took a week to send the prescription to my pharmacy. No wonder why they are going into bankruptcy. read more

I walk in for my appt they said "oh its not in our system" then they said "oh zoc doc has been giving us problems lately". He gave me a regimen to follow and prescribed 2 topical medications. Of course 1 of them was denied by my pharmacy. I cannot begin to tell you how AWFUL this place is. This is my second time visiting this practice to just try and see one specific doctor there. After I signed in and AFTER they took my copay they informed me I was seeing a doctor I did NOT make the appointment for. After telling the front desk staff this wasn't acceptable they told me all their physicians were the same and can write the same scripts. Since they had already taken my money I waited to see this other doctor there. She was a complete moron, she gave me wrong information about medicine, asked me what I wanted her to write including the dosage, was of zero help. The doctor just ended up trying to push vitamins on me that they just happen to sell at the office. Never have I experienced such a con job at a doctors office as I have here. This place is AWFUL do not go. No one cares, there is no real medicine happening they are just trying to steal your money. read more
