Cozy spot with street parking. Plenty of tables available for eating and studying. Had a variety of coffee options. We had the cold brew and iced chai with a pumpkin foam which were good. I think the best part and most unique aspect is that they have a variety of pan dulce to choose from. As a business in back of the yards I thought this touch was unique to the neighborhood. Service was pleasant.

I wanted to update my review because my opinion of this establishment has completely changed. It's been amazing to see how this business has stepped up to advocate for our immigrant community--through its social media posts, in-store displays, signage, and participation in local events. My family and I now visit regularly to show our support. I often recommend this coffee shop to my friends, family, and coworkers because it truly embodies what a community coffee shop should be. It's become a welcoming gathering place for everyone. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes, and the staff are always friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about their customers. Another thing I love is the artwork on display. The shop showcases powerful pieces by various artists that highlight issues affecting the immigrant community. Even better, 100% of the proceeds from art sales go directly to the artists themselves--something you don't often see these days. It's a wonderful way to support local talent while spreading awareness. I'll definitely continue to visit and recommend this coffee shop to others. Keep up the great work!

I ordered the horchata latte and picked up a chocolate chip cookie. They were both delicious. The cashier was really nice. I highly recommend this panadería and coffee shop. Highly clean, everything was organized, loved it.

Come on in! I recently drove by Fredy's Granados and couldn't resist trying them out. The atmosphere was amazing, drawing me in instantly. I'm glad I gave this humble location a chance. They're very cultural in their Hispanic favorites, offering an outstanding twist on American-Mexican drinks. They also support other local businesses by selling their dry beans of coffee on a side shelf. Honestly, one of the new hidden gems in Chicago. The service was on point, with careful crafting by their baristas. And let me not forget they got board games come on cherry on the top come and enjoy a great time at FREDY'S GRANADOS.

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Bridgeport. Everyone is so attentive, caring, and kind! My…read morefavorite order is the Southside Reuben with some jasmine green tea. I usually come here to work and feel like the environment is stimulating yet not distracting. The lofted ceilings open the space up and make it the perfect place for an artist to be inspired. The music playlist is always phenomenal and the art work is curated so beautifully. Thank you Base Cafe for being an exemplary spot that represents Bridgeport! So happy to be a customer here :)

Maybe it's because I'm not typically on my phone when I go to order so I've never heard of this "rule" before. But apparently, they don't serve people if you're "on the phone." In my case, I wasn't just otp, I was on a Zoom meeting. Can't just sign off. It was for work, just wanted a coffee and maybe something to eat before heading to my job. It wasn't a negative experience. Per se. It looked like the owner was pretty chill about it. And I get it---ppl can be rude, I'm sure. Having to take an order while someone is on the phone is annoying. But it's also strange to police people's behavior to that extent. So anyway, I got my coffee and decided against getting food. I'll still probably come back. My fave is their pistachio latte and it's a comfortable, chill spot to write at. They should probably put a sign up about that rule if they haven't already!

Not sure why I had not reviewed this soot earlier, I come here often, in fact I'm here right now…read more Great spot! Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. This is the place you bring people close to you, business lunches, meetings, formal ir informal, or like me, save it for myself as my own getaway spot. It's an artists dream and sets a positive time for any gathering.
