All I have to say is YUM! Brunch, lunch, dinner are all amazing!!!!! Great comfort food with a twist. Always a go to favorite but I recommend checking what days they are open as well as their hours. Sip was just what we were looking: excellent food, comfortable atmosphere, and the owner was really friendly and welcoming. He made us and our grumpy 2-year old feel much better after a long day (even had toys just for him to play with!). Wow, what a gem! This place is quiant and cozy. The menu isn't large but changes often with new specials. The owners are on site and take much care in providing excellent service. We chose this restaurant based on their online menu. Unfortunately, their menu has changed and the web site is not current. That being said, our server handled our disappointment well and comped our drinks (they were out of my selection). The brussel sprouts were fantastic, the burgers were average. Popped in around 2 and both owners and the super cute waitress where at my disposal. The beer I wanted was tapped and he offered to tap a new keg he thought I would like. Empire Peach Buzz. Dependable option, but food is just OK. New location is larger and used to be a bar, so the acoustics are very poor and its loud. Not awesome for relaxing dinner with conversation unless you want to shout at each other. Upstairs is slightly quieter. Large booths seat 6 so it's good for groups. Crowd is mostly PSU students. I have been to this place several times, and it's ok. I found the menu to be quite small and limited, and the food is slightly overpriced. I ordered pulled pork nachos once, and I literally received pulled pork on a few kettle chips. Occasionally, this place will have some killer beers on tap, but their taplist is also somewhat limited. There are some great employees here including the bartenders. Like I said, I pop in every now and again to check out the beer selection, but I rarely eat here. Simple yet elegant. The drink and food menu are rather small, but focus on the strengths of the restaurant. They do a few items and they do them well. The portions sound smaller on the menu than what they come out as. For instance the sliders were plenty compared to most other places where the sliders would just barely fill you up. The one specific menu item that I found over the top outstanding was the sweet potato chips. They really made the meal pop. The service was a little above average while the atmosphere was nothing over the top until you walk downstairs to the bathroom to a New York City subway station. It was well done. Why two stars you ask. We waited over half a hour to get waited on and we had reservations and our whole party was here granted it was Mother's Day and it was busy for brunch. Once we ordered our drinks we were left to wait for another five minutes then our food order was placed there was people banging around upstairs and a lightbulb fell out of a fixture and hit one of our party members in the side of the face along with the dust off the ceiling landing in our drinks. Then our food comes half a hour later we have been sitting for one hour and they forgot one of the orders The food was outstanding. I ordered breakfast poutine it came out in a square cake pan with a piece of paper underneath, the paper was sticking to the food So some take aways for sip put more staff on on a day that you make people have reservations and put your food in normal plates or in just the cake pan it sucks having to separate paper from your food read more

My friend and I came to Plattsburgh for some shopping, and started looking for places to eat outside of the normal chain restaurants (Applebees, Ninety Nine, etc.) Sip was less than a 10 minute drive from the mall and so worth the 10 minutes. We were greeted promptly, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was brought to us before we had even had a sip of our cocktails (which were amazing)! We both got different types of tacos (fish and shrimp) and they were the best tacos I have ever had. I will also add that the atmosphere is awesome, and the art on the walls is amazing.
