The Halo Halo here cost $10+, the most expensive Halo Halo we ever purchased. For a mediocre blend, it's quite a joke to set this kind of dessert at that price. We would happily pay $10+ more if this Halo Halo was made extra special with more loaded ingredients or a taller serving, but there's nothing special in Tea-Rex's version. The Halo Halo was served to our table in front of the Pork & Spoon concession instead of us having to pick it up from the concession, so we appreciate Tea-Rex's customer service. Burlington Food Hall seemed to have a nice casual dining space to enjoy food but its layout of the shops is questionable. We had to go to the back area of the building to find Tea-Rex and the few other spots while Pork & Spoon is very visible in the front area of the hall. We haven't tried any of Tea-Rex's milk teas & other desserts but from what we've seen in its concession, the milk teas look quite generic. Pork & Spoon referred us to them when we asked if they offered Halo Halo, which I thought was a good teamwork between the two shops in Burlington Food Hall. Sadly, neither shops gave us a good reason to revisit this new food hall. I will publish my review of Pork & Spoon soon. As for Tea-Rex NC, their Halo Halo was just disappointing. We rather get the $8+ Halo Halo in the Oriental Store in Raleigh, but that's another story. | Overall Score: 2.0/5

I was on the way home from the Triangle, in need of lunch, and in possession of a banh mi craving,…read moreso geographic convenience more than anything led me to Kalm's door. Tucked inside a plaza shared with a Food Lion, it isn't much to look at inside or out. However, some of the best Vietnamese and Thai places are these too-easily ignored hole-in-the-wall joints, and Kalm proved to be no exception. In addition to a few banh mi options, Kalm's menu includes rice and noodle dishes, apps, boba tea, poke, and pho. There are several vegetarian selections as well as a kid's menu. If I didn't have a specific craving, I might have had a hard time choosing as several other dishes looked good. I went with a classic Banh Mi Dac Biet (roast pork, sausage, and veggies on a baguette). Kalm's preparation was different than I've had elsewhere: they serve the sandwich deconstructed with cilantro, cucumbers, carrot, daikon, and jalapeños on the side. This preempts patrons from picking out any toppings they don't like. At any rate, the banh mi definitely hit the spot. The bread was very warm and flaky, and the meats were flavorful. The cucumbers, daikon, and carrots offered a refreshing balance to their saltiness. Service here is also great. I got a greeting when I walked in, my order was taken and prepared quickly, and everyone was pleasant and polite throughout the meal. For those despairing about Burlington's food options, you needn't have to drive far to find some welcome variety. Support local, keep Kalm, and carry on.

You get one or multiple for your bowl and they are all the same price. Service is really good but it a small place with plenty of seating. Nothing fancy at all but the food is amazing. I go here weekly. The owner is very nice and will chit-chat with you some if they aren't too busy. I've only had the Pho bowls so I can't comment on the other items because I can't pull myself away from the Pho. They also sell the broth to go and we get it and do our own Pho at home sometimes.

It's like there isn't any good ventilation or something. I can't swing it. This most recent visit I had stopped prior to closing and ordered a coffee. I was inside no more than 3-5 minutes and the whole rest of the day my clothing reeked of their shop. I would love to come back with friends, especially on delay-days which we will be having soon I imagine, but to avoid smelling like their place all day, I will have to pass. The coffee is good, though. Their menu has tons to choose from and there is something for everyone!

This shop is not one of those (closing at 2pm most days) but I had reason to be in the area this morning and it was a good chance to try something new! This is a very cute shop with a small amount of inside seating and friendly staff. It appears there is outside seating sometimes as well with a canopy, but on my visit all the tables and chairs were stacked. The menu is extensive with both beverages and breakfast items, and it can be hard to choose. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't partake in the waffles, sandwiches, and soups offered, but they certainly sounded good. We ordered a Wacky Waffle hot latte and a Frankenstein frozen Oreo beverage. I'm not usually one for frozen stuff, but the Frankenstein was delicious and will certainly satisfy a sweet craving. We added an espresso shot to it for a little coffee twist and that was very good. The Wacky Waffle had a decent butterscotch undertone though it was heavy on the syrup which obscured the underlying flavor of coffee. I probably won't visit again for a while due to my lifestyle, but if I was a day walker I could certainly see this having a crowd of regulars!
