I found them at a reasonable price, plus if you bought two, you would get them at a lower cost. I happily got two and went on my merry way to the self-checkout. When I went to pay, I realised it would be more expensive than the promotion said. I was expecting to get the sales price plus the military discount, like "The Home Dept does," but instead I found out that you cannot have both, according to the machine and the young men who offer a vague excuse. I wanted to get the best possible price; I didn't want to hear excuses. Lowe's, you won't see me around anymore. I don't like this; you either do or do not provide a military discount in your stores, but you do not do things halfway.

When I got to the store, I found the product I wanted but it wasn't marked at the sale price. I asked one of the associates about it and he told me to just show the add at checkout. He also informed me Stihl would not allow Northern to honor the military discount. I met Jason at the register and he was quickly able to verify the sale price and it was applied. Jason got me started with warranty and registration paperwork while he got the unit prepared to demo. He was very knowledgeable and thorough with the demo/ product. He made good recommendations about what kind of fuel to use as well as what not to use and why. He explained in great detail the process for warranty, repairs and parts. I am very pleased with the service I received today even though I didn't receive a military discount. I highly recommend this store.

Normally, when I go into Lowe's, no less than 2 to 3 people stop and ask if I need help. This visit I only had 1 person and he didn't even work in the appliance section. I was in the section long enough to look over all the options and the open box options, then come back to my selection to really check it out without the sales person ever coming to speak to me. Once I was ready, I went to check out with the sales person and never once did he ask if I had any questions or how he could offer any other assistance with the purchase. I needed installation, which turned out to be almost a month later on April 15. To pay for a new appliance and not be able to enjoy it until almost a month later is ludicrous. Overall, I'm just meh about this experience at Lowe's.

Just walking in, going back, coming back up revealed I'd have to come again. The folks were knowledgeable, nice, informative and equipped to help anyone who might need something specific for their unique project.
