I find it difficult to give a poor review but I'm so frustrated, this review is deserved. I waited in the appliance section for at least 15 minutes waiting on someone, anyone to come to the area. I finally went to customer service where I was the next in line. The worker tidied up her area and then left without saying I'm off, I'm going to the bathroom or anything. Someone finally helped me. I told her that I needed assistance in appliances. I heard the page but No One ever came. I ended up leaving without speaking with anyone. read more

So, I don't have any complaints about the store itself. However, the other day my husband and I were in the store for almost two hours. The entire time we were in the store, the ONLY song that played was Def Leopard, Poor Some Sugar On Me. Over and Over and Over! Really disappointed with my experience here. I recently bought a dishwasher and when I did, I did ask if it is an easy remove and reinstall or do I need additional hardware? I was told no completely easy and no additional hardware needed everything needed will be included. When I received the dishwasher, it was not the case. I needed a different water supply line as well as a different appliance cord. Was also told by a contractor that with that being said the water pressure needed for this dishwasher would probably be less and it would not function at top performance. I decided to return it and the Manager who helped me was absolutely professional and helpful. She stated that normally they do not take returns, however she wanted to do the right thing and understood that I did not want to go through additional hassle to install the dishwasher - so she approved the return. She was very friendly and she did also stay normally they do not do this and they will not do it again so she did make the companies policy clear, even though she was making an exception policy because I was informed at the time of purchase. When I arrived to return the appliance I was helped by a Cynthia and later Nick which really made my experience at the store, not only awkward but uncomfortable and left me with a negative vibe. They continuously discussed that they want to make sure that I'm allowed to return this appliance although the notes in the computer stated what Miss Rebecca the manager wrote that she approved the return. The notes clearly said: She wanted to do right by me since I was misinformed at the time of purchase, it was clear that they did not agree to her decision and I found it so unprofessional for them to discuss the situation in front of me. I finally asked if there's a problem because obviously I received approval from a manager and they already unloaded the dishwasher which they took to the back and here we are there while processing a return, and the two associates literally sharing the opinion how it should have been returned in front of me. They said no not a problem just something that they normally don't do because their store manager does not approve to returns of appliances as such. Cynthia then said Rebecca approved this and then Nick said she's not even here today. How can she approve this? I looked at the both of them and I said, excuse me, I spoke to Rebecca last night prior to closing obviously, she put a note in the system, which I happened to see while standing there talking to Cynthia when she looked the memo up. I asked if they ever have a team training and Cynthia said what and no and I said well if you don't have training, I would highly recommend when people buy appliances and ask questions to be sure to give the right information because right now they were making it seem like it's a such a big inconvenience to them that I am returning an item while actually I the customer forked out $30 for a delivery fee. I had to pay $40 for a restock fee for an item that I Could not use as purchased. So here I am dealing with this and pretty much lost $70 out of pocket because I bought an item that I thought I can just easily install without any additional purchases or modifications and I am getting this kind of demeanor I also said, a bit of customer service training would not be bad either! When she had handed me my receipt she didn't even say anything. She literally just put the paper right in front of me like here you go. There was another girl working on the register next to her. I believe her name was Tee. And they constantly whispered throughout the process and made faces. So unprofessional. I will say the three boys that unloaded the appliance for me were absolutely terrific. They were so kind so respectful and just on top of the game showed great work ethic which I cannot say about Cynthia T or Nick I really do not like throwing people under the bus, but I also don't like buying something at a store to return it, lose $70 which is a lot of money nowadays and being treated this way. One thing I learned I will never buy an appliance here again and I'll just continue going to Lowe's where the customer service is top-notch. Consider hiring people in this department that actually want to work and provide exemplary customer service to keep customer coming. read more

The staff knows where stuff is! Not all Home Depot's have as helpful of employees, lol. But the two I asked were able to direct me to the very specific item I was needing. The first informed me of the aisle and location in the aisle but then when I still couldn't narrow it down, the employee in that aisle walked me over to it. I would've been lost in the store for a long time otherwise. Also major props to the woman working the self-checkout area today. She was very observant and efficient in directing guests to the next available checkout, all while maintaining a polite demeanor! Also wow the self-checkout was fancy! Gotta believe they were installed recently. BIG touchscreens. Even my dad with his poor vision would be able to read the font and menus. The voice assistant was also at a high volume so the hard of hearing could hear even in such a noisy environment. Same great service that you're used to expecting with all the great products that Home Depot offers at low prices. Sometimes it is hard to find what I'm looking for but the home Depot app helps. It is a giant Warehouse with very few workers that really know where everything is. The app has really come in handy recently. I have had really good luck with returning. I bought some pant the other day and it was the wrong color I had lost the receipt so I was pretty worried because there was a big line in the return merchandise area at the front. Thankfully I have the credit card with me that I bought the paint with so even though I did not have the receipt they were able to scan the card and find the purchase by scanning the paint and then automatically refund the paint. This was the worse customers service my family has ever experienced.. the store manger Manny and his manger department were very rude. They had a fridge on sale with the advertising sticker. Both managers did not honor the sale price because they stated it was put on the wrong fridge. I had went several days and that sales tag was on the same fridge all three days l looked at it.. They never honored the price and took the sign off.. This is horrible. All this ugly nonsense happened in front of my family.. disgusting! I would give it no stars if l could! Pretty broad selection of tools. Very straightforward to where you need to go. Signs direct you without the help of employees. I found what I was looking for within the first 3 minutes being in the store. The cashiers actually make convo with you, ask you questions and it's pretty cool when you're having a busy day; and forget to relax. Huge store, I haven't even roamed around the whole store but I'm pretty sure they have everything I need. Two thumbs up, I'm pretty impressed. read more

Something I will never understand is if you don't want to provide a helping hand to a customer in need why do you work in customer service? The only reason I am giving this location 2 stars is because of the 3 gentleman and young lady that helped us in self checkout. We spent over $600 on 96 pavers and a huge load of lumber and 10 bags of concrete we 4 carts worth of stuff. We asked if someone could please check us out over in the lumber area and took the 96 pavers over there to make it easier for the employees. A short older man informed us we needed to take all 4 carts over to shelf checkout it was irritating but we understood because the lumber registers were closed. HOWEVER, the older man and another employee did not offer at all to help us get the 4 carts across the store to self checkout they simply watched us struggle to get 2 down there then run back to get the other 2. So rude and so disappointed. read more

We just got some plywood here. My 67 year husband struggled to get two large pieces onto a cart. While woman , very young, with long blond hair and a young man watched. She proceeded to cut one piece wrong. Did she go get another nope. He had to. Then after she cut it said oh wow I can't cut the second like this first one ! Bought over $500.00 worth of (plumbing pipes and wire) merchandise in February 2023, didn't need any longer and went to return September 2023 and the rejected item because of their 90 return policy... If when I spoke to the clerk and MOD and explained I would take a store credit as I was about to purchase a 5x8 trailer that cost $2,300.00. The clerk stated HOME-DEPOT could only return up to $78.00 and proceeded to give my DL a warning to have me barred from returning paid for items from an American tax payer that spent my own $ on. So now I have over $437.00 worth of Home Depot pipes and wire that will go to waste because Home Depot makes silly rules for working class Americans. Just stopped here for a curbside order we picked up. A 150lb work bench for my father-in-law. It was me and 2 other women that went to pick it up. Already had a plan to get it out of our truck, but we definitely needed help getting it into the truck which I assumed would be offered considering the size of the box. At least 3 employees standing around the area where we picked it up and not one offered to help us. Instead, we stood out front struggling to lift this massive box into the bed of our truck. We now love shopping here, and visit the store more often than we have ever done before. Since you can find just about anything for your home improvement needs, their prices can be reasonable in some things and in others they can be plain expensive. Either way it's convenient for any home owner or anyone who loves plants. They have a lot of experts in home and gardening that can help you find a contractor or someone that can give you a tip on any project so don't hesitate to give them a try. Their friendly personnel are ready to help you answer your most daunting questions. And if not they can always find someone who can find you the right answer. I've decorated the Front and Back of my Home with several plants to include succulents from Home Depot over the last two years. I've always been greeted with a smile and been assisted when it was needed. I scored enormous deals last year during Black Friday and took advantage of the Low Interest Credit card for new home owners to add cabinets, knobs and accessories to keep in the running for Yard of the Millennium. I must say that I have dropped mucho cash at Home Depot, Milbergers and Rainbow Gardens and give Most Respect to them for honoring Our Military and Veterans. Milbergers and Rainbow Gardens provide great inventory but dim in comparison to the superior rates of Home Depot and do NOT OFFER MILITARY DISCOUNTS... :( In particular I applaud the hiring and employment of Veterans as many are always willing to share their service and assistance to me when I enter the store in Uniform. I will always be a Home Depot shopper and love the commitment that the store uses in returning items that are either defective or no longer desired even after a few uses. Good looking garden department. If you're looking for out door landscape color this place has it going on! Lots of selection, nicely maintained and depth of qtys. The front apron was inviting and attractive with lots of good looking Color annual plants. The garden gates were open and they had a cashier ready to ring up your purchase so you don't have to brave the lines inside. There is a Christmas tree tent here in the parking lot and there were a few trees still here. Sorry though.. no Poinsettias left at all. We have purchased blinds for our place since mid-July. We are still waiting on one more blind to be correctly installed and it is October already. The temporary paper blinds have faded color due to this long wait! Long story short, the customer has to do all the leg work. They will not update you until you reach out to them to find out. Remember folks all of the workers are not professionals. I have had no problems with the Selma store. I'm pretty sure the people complaining are just in a hurry and want to be helped first. The paint department is always busy and the workers seem to get the customers out quickly. The garden department always seems to be lacking in plants. They only think 4 different plants grow in Texas. Get someone who knows plants. Tools,Lumber and plumbing are what you expect. I get that it may be early in the morning, and I don't know what may be going on in his personal life, but I'm still a customer, and I try my best to know what items I need prior to going in the store. Went to pick up an order using their "load and go"truck. I had ordered some boards too long for my car. The workers that I encountered were polite and friendly, and no issues with them. I went to the other end of the store to retrieve my order and had to wait an extended period of time for the employees to retrieve my order. No issues with the wait because I realize that they may be busy, but I did not know that I was being charged for the truck rental even though I was still waiting for the employees and not using it yet. I used the truck for a quick drop-off and back to the store for a total usage of about 1 hour. After I returned the truck I seen that they charged me for an additional 40 minutes where I was waiting for employees to assist. I called the store and spoke to a supervisor who was not polite, not friendly and not helpful, and hung up on me after saying it was too late to adjust the fee. She told me I should have gone back to the customer service desk after the truck was loaded so they could restart the time, but nobody told me that. I have an issue with renting/using a truck for 1 hour and being charged for the time it takes for employees to service me. I also have an issue with management shutting the door on offering any assistance. Unhelpful, rude supervisors and scammy rental policy. This location sucks. BTW, the cab of the truck was very dirty, tire pressure was low (see pic), and the fuel level was not topped off. They require that you return with a full tank so I put in about $20 worth of fuel for my short trip, which was mainly for the previous renter's trip. read more

The staff here is the worst I've experienced from Louisiana all the way up to Wyoming. I asked for a rip on a sheet of plywood gave him the measurement all he had to do was put it where I said once and he chose to not. I just spent $80 on wood that really isn't close to what I need for the job. An extra 5 seconds of care I would have been a five star review. It has been very rare to get help from employees at this location. Typically getting the finger pointing or telling us what isle to find something. However, Rudy in lumber really turned it around for us on our most recent trip to Home Depot! He is amazing! He went out of his way to give us guidance, educate us, pick out the right wood, and cut down the wood to our measurements we needed! Home Depot, if you are reading this, please celebrate Rudy's natural and excellent customer service skills! If you are ever in need of help in lumber at this location ask for Rudy!
